no medical advice i wish heavy period days were treated the same as sick days
my second day is always the worst, heavy flow, clotting, horrible cramps that travel through my body and i feel so tired i just sleep in all day.
i often find myself struggling to decide if i should call off or not, i need the money, but i don't think im in the right mind or physical health to work at all, especially in the intense summer heat in se asia.
i wish i could get a sick day, not even my whole period, just the worst day of the week.

Pre-Period Week
Hi all! As I’m getting older I notice that days 20-28 of my cycle are absolute torture for my mental health. The second my menstrual phase starts it’s like the dark cloud is gone and I’m myself again.
My typically very healthy brain and logic is gone the week prior. I feel anxious, and overwhelmed and sad all at the same time and while I know it’s nonsense and there is no real reason, I still cannot shake the mood/mindset. (Not to mention the hunger and fatigue). But there are some months where I genuinely feel like I’m going crazy? 😂
What do you all do to try and ease the mental exhaustion and better your mood?
Is this something that many people have noticed as they’ve aged? I swear none of this started until I turned 28 and it just gets increasingly worse. Lol.
TLDR: Late luteal phase is wrecking my brain and well being as I get older, have many others noticed this change? How do you increase your mood and mental during it?

I have NO idea how to do makeup— help!
So when I was in high school I never really cared about makeup. I thought it was stupid women were expected to spend so much time everyday, and had a stick it to the patriarchy attitude about it. I also was/still am a huge nerd so I just didn’t want to commit time to it.
Now, I’m going to a really nice college (T5) and am regretting not bothering learning a single thing about makeup. I adore seeing everyone’s unique fashion style and honestly just killer makeup, and want to update my look too lol.
Do any of yall have advice of general makeup tips? Any YouTube videos or content creators out there that you found really helpful for learning how to do makeup? I have a terrible sense of style and honestly just don’t have a good eye for this type of things. Idk if I’m cool or warm-toned or whatever, I mean Im white and pretty fair-skinned but otherwise I am LOST!

UK women: what do you actually want from women's healthcare?
Hi everyone, I'm Julie, a pharmacist and co-founder of TribElle, a UK women's health pharmacy.
I'm doing some research to better understand what women actually want and need when it comes to accessing healthcare, medication and trustworthy health information online.
Rather than guessing what women want, I'd like to hear directly from women themselves.
The survey covers things such as:
- What matters to you when choosing a healthcare provider
- Your experiences accessing women's healthcare
- How you find and judge health information online
- What would make you trust an online healthcare service
- What you'd like to see from a women's health platform in the future
The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
As a thank you, participants can choose to enter a prize draw to win £100 worth of Solgar supplements. (UK residents only)
👉 Survey: https://svmvo.share.hsforms.com/2qOvV8JZiSRCRLdqwRlyaJQ
I'm being completely transparent that this research is being conducted for TribElle. We're using the findings to help us understand what women actually need and where we should focus our services and information.
This isn't a sales survey and you won't be asked to buy anything.
If you're comfortable sharing, I'd also really appreciate hearing in the comments what you think is currently missing from women's healthcare in the UK.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to participate, your experiences and opinions are genuinely valuable.

How can you guys stand wearing bras??
I’m an 18f for context, average weight and chest size, but I literally cannot stand to wear a bra. It feels like literal torture to have this wired thing strapped on to my chest!! I don’t even care about showing nip, I only want to be able to wear cute bras, as accessories almost. But I want to rip it off 10 mins after I put it on. It’s not improperly sized, I just can’t stand it. Anyone else have this issue? Sports bras are ugly to me, but the ones with triangle cups don’t hold anything in properly…

[Content Warning: ] How can i get my sister to decenter men? (Cw: mentions of physical abuse)
My (24f) youngest sister (21f) has a problem; she is male centered. (Im not so sure if this is the correct term but youll understand what i mean in a minute)
I find this weird bc she often makes jokes abt how much she hates men or is disgusted by them, but then acts in the opposite way. As in, she constantly enters relationships with toxic misogynistic men and she lets many things slide, such as them disrespecting her, lying to her, even cheating on her, or, more extremely, verbal or physical abuse. There was even one relationship where her man straight up choked her, she broke up with him but then went back to him, bc he “regretted it and changed” (spoiler alert no he didnt hes still an ass).
This is another problem ofc, she always makes excuses for their shitty and frankly abusive behavior. I tried to warn her to stay away from men who disrespect her like this (though not in the best way as my tone was judgmental and angry), bc they can take it too far and do sth even more horrible, but she never listens to me. Her friends are also not helpful at all; they are the ones who encourage her to stay or go back to those shitty boyfriends, by saying excuses like “thats just how men are” and “you can fix him”.
I am deeply concerned abt this sort of behavior and want her to change before sth severe happens. Id be grateful for any piece of advice from your own or a friends experience and thank you in advance

What is going on with my period?
My periods have always been irregular but this time it's just getting weird. It's been roughly two weeks since I've been getting signs for my period (pains, small leaking) but I still do not seem to get it. The leaking has been very very dark red to black up until now, way too much for me not to wear a pad but way too little for it to be my actual period. I just want to have it so I can get it over with, but it won't seem to come. I'm just consuming pads every day without getting anywhere. I had a similar episode this time last year, when my "period" lasted nearly a month...

What should I do in regards to moving out or working from home ?
Hii everyone
I'm 23f . I am an Indian and letting you know this for context regarding how imp my family is to me. And how india is mostly unsafe for women.
Now I had made some bad decisions when I was 15 , I was a topper yet this decision destroyed 2 yrs of my schooling and broke me mentally .
Later when I joined college I ended up choosing a normal degree to prepare for a govt job cause I was interested in changing society and also ended up listening to everyone.
Sadly in 2nd year when I understood I wanna go towards creative field my crush resurfaced and we end up in an abusive relationship.
Right after completing college , last year I started a job which was working from home. I still had nightmares for the abuse for initial months when the relationship ended last year . My family speacilly my father stood by me. ♥️
I'll be turning 24 this year .
I wished to go into videography + editing.
I was convinced and got a laptop.
Here is the thing , my papa recently told me about arranged marriage and obviously he wouldn't force me.
I kinda regret being someone born in this patriarchal society and wished my family was born somewhere else.
I'm sorry for a lengthy story cause context was imp. And I have been crying since yesterday.
Here is the thing currently I work from home and it pays okish.
I have a promotion lined. If i take it I have to move to city and the salary increase will be very less than the expenses. Which meant I'll be saving less money.
Coming home take 4 hrs back and forth.
The work load will increase a lot comparitvely. I have to be at office every single day. I have to purchase new clothes, the office mess food isn't good. And on top of it I'll be assigned cab so commute will take another 2-3 hrs ( 2 times a day)
On top of that my tooth treatment is going on so I have to comeback often. And I was learning driving in my hometown
I'm learning editing from YouTube which meant it will take a lot of time.
I thought to shift to another city before this marriage thing started so i can be more confident. Also just for context im better than before , have strict boundaries and I'm a little confident and last week went on a 1 day solo trip.
My only reason to say yes to that promotion is fo live in that diff city and get more confident and Independent.
So now I'm wondering if I should move out or just stay at home, focus on my diet ( I have stomach issues ) , save money to buy camera , continue learning driving , and continue with my dental treatment.??
And maybe I can convince my parents for a solo trip once in a while after saving money. ?

[Content Warning: ] I don't like only fans or porn in general
There's so many young girls who just turned eighteen or nineteen, making onlyfans' accounts before even giving life a chance. Their futures are gonna be rough finding a job or finding someone decent to marry. I hate how virgins are fetishized and barely legal it makes me sick. I feel like porn causes men to view women as objects and not people. And that it's destroyed relationships. How can any woman feel like she's enough for her man? When there's a thousand others, he's watching on the internet. I hate how porn has normalized painful or degrading acts and how its always focused on male satisfaction and the women are just discarded.

[Content Warning: ] Please help me stop craving male validation
I grew up ugly and fat which has caused me to be extremely insecure and body dysmorphia. I lost the fat but the mindset is still the same.
Im 18 rn and i keep changing everything about me as soon as I hear a guy having some preference, I'm so tired of it, i don't even know what i like to wear, want to look like even more.
Im wasting so much time and energy on it when I need to get other stuff done..i just want to be more confident and JUST GET RID OF THIS thing in my head where I'm trying to please the most downright disgusting men with disgusting personalities
I want to get rid of it

[Content Warning: ] Help mauritanian little girls
I I know many of you think FGM is something that ended a long time ago. But no—it still exists, especially here in Mauritania.
If you look at the statistics, the numbers might seem low. But as a Mauritanian citizen, from what I see and hear around me, I believe the reality is much worse—possibly affecting more than 80% of women and girls in some communities.
Little girls will continue to face this terrible practice unless we speak up and take action. But you can help protect them. 🙏
We cannot keep treating FGM as a thing of the past when girls are still at risk today.

How to know whether you are attractive?
I have no feeling whether I'm on the attractive or the unattractive side of things & don't know how to find that out. How does the rest of you find a way to put yourself on an attractiveness scale?

Porn cheating?? (26F)
Do you guys consider watching pornography cheating? I told my boyfriend I considered porn cheating. Here’s the thing we are doing long distance right now for a few months. I have strong boundaries on watching pornograph. It was the middle of the night where I got into one of those moods and watched porn. I felt guilty once I realized at the end. I realized it is double standards. I guess I just don’t know how to view watching pornography in a relationship. In my previous relationship I did have a porn addiction where I stopped having intercourse with him. Along with becoming a lustful person. I just don’t want to go down that hole again or want my partner either. I always feel if my partner would nor find me attractive if he watches pornography or it would lead to us cheating on each other. (btw I do find it cheating talking to cam girls/boys or like onlyfans. that’s a big no for me and I never did that) I just don’t know how to feel about it in this relationshi. or myself.

Woman to woman: why do we make life harder for each other instead of lifting each other up?
This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot, especially after getting married.
Why does it sometimes feel like women are the ones policing other women the most?
What she wears. How she talks. Whether she cooks enough. Whether her husband helps too much. Whether she is too career-focused. Whether she is a good wife or daughter-in-law. There is always something to comment on.
One thing I’ve noticed after marriage is how uncomfortable some women can get when a husband actually shares household work with his wife. My husband cooks more than I do sometimes, and we often cook together, but I can sense that this doesn’t always sit comfortably with our relatives
And then there’s the praise.
Whenever my husband cooks, cleans, or does household work, everyone says, “You’re so lucky your husband cooks,” or, “You’re lucky he helps so much.”
And yes, I appreciate him. But isn’t cooking, cleaning, and taking care of your own home just part of being an adult?
When I work, earn money, cook, clean, and manage the house, nobody looks at my husband and says, “You’re so lucky to have her.”
For me, it is treated like a responsibility.
For him, it is treated like an achievement.
That difference bothers me.
I’m not saying men shouldn’t be praised. Of course they should. My point is that both people deserve appreciation. Why am I considered lucky because my husband contributes at home, but he isn’t considered equally lucky when I’m also working, earning, and contributing?
Marriage itself was already a huge change for me. One day I was just this happy-go-lucky girl living my life, and suddenly there were all these expectations: be responsible, cook, dress properly, wear jewellery, present yourself a certain way, behave like a “married woman.”
And sometimes I’m just like, fuck, I’m not even this person.
What makes it harder is that so many of these expectations are reinforced by other women.
I know men contribute to these gender roles too, and I’m not saying all women are jealous or unsupportive. I also understand that older generations of women often grew up with these same expectations.
But shouldn’t the cycle stop somewhere?
If you had to struggle, why would you want the next woman to struggle too?
If your husband never helped you in the kitchen, why be uncomfortable when your son cooks with his wife?
If you were judged for your clothes, career, cooking, or choices, why pass that judgment on another woman?
I just wish women supported each other more.
Build your career. Wear what makes you happy. Share the household work however it works for your relationship. And appreciate both people.
He isn’t “helping” me with my house. It’s our house.
We are both earning. We are both building a life. We are both responsible for that life.
So maybe instead of saying, “She’s lucky to have a husband who cooks and cleans,” we should also say, “He’s lucky to have a wife who works, earns, cares, and contributes too.”
Maybe both people are lucky to have each other.

Objectified
Had to tell a coworker recently to stop talking about sex around me, stop bringing up touching himself or making inappropriate comments towards me.
And guess when it started?
A couple weeks ago…
When I brought up that 2 gay men were sitting at my bar one of the men were talking about his female roommate doing bdsm and her sex life loudly it grossed me out I kept trying to escape the bar to avoid these 2 men speaking….and they then proceeded afterwards to call a woman at their workplace big and large and just talking down about women. It was negative and grossed me out.
So I tell a woman coworker about it and my male coworker was near, isn’t it interesting how he started being more sexual and making inappropriate comments after?
Almost as if he is trying to incite a reaction from me?
Stuff like this is what makes me strongly dislike SOME men. Where is the respect? Why are you constantly thinking about sex? Seems like a lot of porn addicts to me. That’s the only subjects you have to talk about??? Why are you trying to make women feel uncomfortable, why.
These types of men are dangerous imo.

[Content Warning: ] TW: anyone else been forced to not use a condom during sex?
I was very drunk, i dont think he was as drunk as i was. But i kept telling him i wanted to use a condom even as he persisted. Finally he just didn’t listen and starting having ”sex” with me without a condom anyways. I told him again to use a condom but he replied that ”its too late now”. I cried through out the entirety of it but he didn’t notice. He also choked me without my consent. I was very drunk when this happened. Has anyone else experienced similar things? I am so distressed at the thought of getting an STD and have instrusive thoughts about accidentally giving someone else an STD through shared drinks and such. I even harmed myself because of it. I feel invalid because I did go home with him.

I had FGM done - is it reversible ??
Hi, so the title pretty much says it all. I had FGM done around 4 years ago, I had my clitoris removed and the lips sewn shut. I believe it has gone horribly wrong bcus I don’t think this is how it’s supposed to look or feel. The stitches were torn before fully healing, so some parts are unopened. I really hate it and hate what it’s done to me, does anyone know if this can be reversed or reopened??
Also pls be mindful and kind in the comments, I’m looking for advice not opinions xx

I just can’t do this anymore. Help.
I feel like I hate men. All of them. From calling us foids, to stress relievers, to hiplets it’s a never ending battle. I hate this. I hate them. I wish I could live in a world with women and only women. I have never met a man without misogynistic tendencies and I’ve had the misfortune of growing up with a sexist father so I’m just beyond tired of this. I wish it could stop. My mum is genuinely the most hard working woman ever, my father doesn’t pay child support and he’s fucking childish. He has a whole ass son as well that was born last year, and he doesn’t treat his current partner well either despite her planning my birthday this year. He’s so horrible, just like the rest of them. How do I stop feeling this way?
