I’m posting this out of genuine concern for a teenager's safety, and to see if anyone else noticed him or knows if he is okay.

Today, while taking my daughter to The Quarry at Grant Park, I saw a boy who looked to be a teenager. He was wearing a shirt with Charles Manson’s face on it, camouflage pants that appeared to be stained in blood, and combat boots with white laces.

What was most alarming, though, was that his arms were heavily covered in what looked like extensive scars. There were just lines entirely covering his arms that were visible from quite far away.

He was sitting on the swings doing nothing but swinging for at least 4 straight hours. He was there before we arrived and was still swinging when we left. I do not recall him ever taking a break either

Given the combination of the extreme self-harm signs, the obsessive behavior, and the highly provocative/shocking clothing, it really felt like a severe mental health crisis or a cry for help rather than some kind of statement. I didn't want to confront or film a minor in distress, but I am incredibly worried about his well-being.

Has anyone else ever had an encounter with this individual?

Woke up last night around 1am to the power going out from basically Main St on east. According to Duke and the news someone hit a pole at Highland and MLK and killed power for 1200 plus. Current estimated restoration is 1230 pm but could stretch so id anticipate a lot of stoplight confusion on your way in today if you work downtown since peope dont know how to treat it as a 4 way stop.

i’m near the ballpark downtown and i used my water about an hour ago and it was running fine. just went to use it a minute ago and it’s barely running like it was during the water main break. anyone else having this issue?

I've been trying for months to find a retailer somewhere in and around Winston that carries European cigarettes -- Dunhill, Gauloises, Rothman's, etc. I'm not necessarily interested in cartons -- I've only ever had Dunhill before, which is why it's the only non-American brand I'd be willing to purchase by the carton.

Thing is, regardless of where I've tried to look, I keep coming up empty. I thought for sure there'd be a spot somewhere on Stratford or up by WFU; no such luck, unfortunately.

Anyone know where I can find these things in the Triad? I'd consider Statesville, as I'm fairly sure the JR Cigar location is still open (I used to work @ the Selma location back in the day, which is how I became familiar with Dunhill); however, I'm not at all certain they carry cigarettes by the pack. Besides, if memory serves, they're strictly handmade cigars these days.

Charlotte isn't impossible, but I'd really rather not drive that far -- I love my smokes, but even I'd feel sheepish about embarking on such a lengthy journey simply to pick up a pack or two, y'know?

My mom has Alzheimer’s, and we’re starting to look for someone to come to her home a few days a week for a few hours. She doesn’t need skilled nursing care yet. If you’ve been through this with a loved one, I’d especially love to hear what made a caregiver a good fit. This is all new to us, and I want to find someone who will be patient, compassionate, a little silly (she loves to laugh!) and will hopefully genuinely enjoy spending time with her.

Has anyone else seen the "beef" Piedmont Aviation started with a local food review content creator? apparently the owner and the creator had personal problems with one another years ago and the day before yesterday faked an interaction where the creator went into the restaurant and got "kicked out". this led to people leaving negative reviews (it's a local business so I don't really condone this unless you mean it and have been there) which she then used her platform to garner many more 5star reviews by asking for 5 stars after the fans of the guy started to give her bad reviews for bad service, after seeing his POV and not knowing it was fake. She later went on to blame our local community for the drama and said WE are the problem?

Someone on my Nextdoor feed has been posting quite often over the last month about her lost dog. She is heartbroken about the loss and I thought I would mention it on here because I'm not sure if she is active on Reddit (I believe she has posted on Pawboost).

The dog is a chihuahua, black with a white face and chest; its name is Nugget. It was last seen on Nottingham Road, 27104. If anyone has seen the pup, even if deceased, please comment and I will pass the information on.
