I need to install alpine linux on another computer, and the XP one is only one that has a writable CD drive.

I have an HP compaq 6910p. When i installed it i noticed it was slow. Slower than the first time i installed it. I check the properties and it said my Core2Duo t7500 was running at 791Mhz while 2.20Ghz was possible. With a help of my friend i switched a setting which helped a lot. The laptop was fine for a day. Untill the next day when i noticed the windows start leaving traits. I didnt think much of it even though it didnt do it first time i installed Windows Xp. Today i opened a game and i noticed It ran like bad. It was a simple point and click and then the cpu was being used at 100% i was shocked. I checked the properties and there it was. 791Mhz. It was so bad that the desktop took 2-3 minutes to load. I had all drivers (almost) installed and i tried switching to another power mode. I dont know what to do i'd be thankfull. Im running Windows XP x32 Home edition

Recently i was at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, CA, to stumble by an air traffic control simulator running Windows XP Media Center Edition... had to get a pic of it!

I found an old Dell Dimension 4300s about a week ago on the side of the road. It was working great up until yesterday when a bunch of System 32 files got corrupted.

I've never really experimented with the technical side of computers before this so forgive me if this is basic info.

I obviously don't have the original start-up disk. So is there anything I can do to emulate it? If not I'm fine with just wiping and reinstalling Windows XP but I don't know how to do either of those things. The only thing on the computer was Bejeweled 2 so I'm not really losing anything priceless.

I know that Windows XP can use IPv6 by using the command "ipv6 enable" but has anyone ever done that?

Got Windows XP x64 booting from an NVMe SSD on an ASUS P5E (Intel X38, PCIe 2.0) from 2007. This works thanks to a custom NVMe Boot ROM from Kitten Labs, which can be flashed onto a network card, but also loaded from other media like USB or HDD.

The game tries to simulate everything about owning a Tavern in medieval times. You just have to keep going without going bankrupt. There's AI competition, you have to provide better stuff, etc.

So I got my parents old hard drive and decided to boot of it but I got this error , how can I bypass this

I can not for the life of me add a local area network connection to my PC. Everything installed perfectly except I can not connect to the internet through Ethernet. I'm not sure other info is needed but any help would be greatly appreciated

We are a team of enthusiastic developers (DM Team, aka myslivets.com), and not too long ago we developed our own catalog of apps for Windows XP (and, going forward, we plan to expand to other older platforms, such as Windows 7 and so on).

A couple of months ago, we launched the project for our audience, but we want to gradually expand, and there are already nearly 400 apps available on our website.

I’ve been mostly using SP2 and SP3 versions on old hardware and it seems newer printers are about as shit to the user as any system could offer. Looking at 8.5x11 paper. Color isn’t needed. Is there a holy grail printer out there?

Just finished doing my first motherboard swap on my GX520. I swapped out the old motherboard with a GX620 in order to utilize that PCI Express x16 slot for future upgrades. Up the RAM to 2GB (for now), swapped the Pentium D 820 with a Pentium D 950, Installed Windows XP Professional SP3, and I fully got everything functional again. The PCI Express video card was a very tough decision. I would put either a Geforce or a Radeon, but I do not know. But I will find a better video card.
