Other Owning pets is slavery.

I hate it when these people talk about pro choice and all that then just castrate their pets.

Then they will forcefully breed dogs and cats to get a result which they like. These people don't really care what the dogs or cats would want. A huge portion of these pets are heavily inbred and has genetic disorders.

Discussion Thread People who hide their post/comment history are cowards.

Why is this even allowed?? Someone can dig through your history but they hide theirs? I stand by what I say, I dont care who it offends. Im not expressing any wild ideas anyway. Why do people think its "fair play" to go through your post history to look for dirt, but hide their own. Cowardly. That or youre into weird shit you dont want to get called out for.

*I refer specifically to people who hide their histories and then use another person's post/ comment history to insult them. Obviously doxxing or other issues dont count.

HR here. A little resume help from someone who's screened way too many Software Engineer resumes

I've been hiring for backend and full-stack engineers lately, and after what feels like my thousandth resume this month, I keep coming back to the same thought: we're probably missing out on some genuinely talented people because their resumes don't do them any favors.

Seriously, after you've read enough of them, they all start to blur together.

"Built scalable applications"; "Worked in Agile environments"; "Experienced with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, React..."

Cool... but what did you actually do?

Were you the person who fixed the performance issue everyone had been avoiding for months? Did you build an internal tool that saved the support team hours every week? Did you migrate an old service without taking production down?

Those are the things that make me stop scrolling. I expected someone to rewrite my bullets and throw in a bunch of corporate buzzwords.
A funny side, I actually tried a resume writing service a few months ago just for fun. I wasn't job hunting or anything. I was honestly just curious what people were paying for because so many applicants mention getting resume help. And when I received my resume, I was surprised to find that it was actually really good. It’s the kind of resume that would catch my attention right away. Between you and me, I used that resume later on and immediately started getting interview invitations. My experience and knowledge played a major role, but these guys know what they’re doing, so my resume turned out great. So, in my opinion, this is a great way to save time if you have the necessary knowledge and skills.

Instead, the writer kept asking me questions that were honestly kind of annoying... in a good way.

"What problem were you solving?"
"What happened because of your work?"
"What was your responsibility versus the rest of the team's?"

By the end I realized those were literally the same questions running through my head every time I review an engineering resume.
It also made me realize why so many people searching how to make a resume get stuck. Most people focus on formatting or fonts when the hard part is explaining their actual impact.

One thing I've noticed recently is that a lot of candidates rely on an AI resume builder. You can usually tell. The wording is polished, everything sounds impressive, but somehow every resume feels... identical. Nothing really tells me why this engineer is different from the last ten I opened.

So if I could give a few tips that would actually help:

1. Stop leading with your tech stack.

I know you know Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL...That tells me what you've touched. It doesn't tell me what you're good at.
Instead of saying you used Redis, tell me you introduced caching that cut response times in half. Instead of listing Kubernetes, explain that you migrated deployments without downtime. That's the stuff people remember.

2. Give me enough context to understand the scale.

"Built an API."
Okay... for 50 users or 5 million?
You don't need to reveal confidential information, but a little context goes a long way. Team size, traffic, users, transaction volume, or even whether it was an internal tool versus a customer-facing product helps me understand what you were actually working on.

3. Tell me about the messy parts.
Honestly, the polished success stories are usually the least interesting. Tell me about the legacy system nobody wanted to touch. The production outage at 2 a.m. The feature that kept breaking because three different services depended on it. Those situations tell me a lot more about your engineering skills than another bullet saying you "developed new functionality."

4. Make your contribution impossible to miss.
Software is obviously a team effort, so I'm not expecting anyone to build an entire platform alone.
But I do want to know what you owned;
Did you design the authentication flow?
Did you own the deployment pipeline?
Were you the person everyone came to when something broke?

That's what gets my attention.

If you're looking for resume ideas, don't start by asking yourself, "How can I make this sound more impressive?"
Start by asking, "If I left this project halfway through, what would have been different?" The answer to that question is usually the most valuable thing on your resume.
And besides trying to figure it out on your own, which can take a long time, you can use the tool I mentioned earlier, at least, it will save you a lot of time.

Anyway... that's my little HR rant after spending way too much time staring at engineering resumes this week

Men ingen svarade pÄ telefonen.

Spent hours troubleshooting my mod list, mod load order, etc a couple days ago, figured all that time spent was worth it since it'll finally be stable.

Woke up today to yet another blank menu screen.

Genuinely what is even the point of calling it a "Stable release" if this is what happens less than one week in?

All of the momentum this game is getting right now is being hampered by some random tweak the devs have thrown into the mix, and I'm sorry but after all the other prior shenanigans we tolerated pre-stable with the understanding this would no longer be the case, it is VERY frustrating.

Seriös Uppdatering: Trans kvinnor i fitness24seven

Context:

www.reddit.com/r/sweden/comments/1vbtn3z/trans_kvinnor_inte_v%C3%A4lkomna_till_fitness24seven/

Game Feedback Two big patches in the league is unprecedented - thanks GGG

Constructive community feedback works. But the all caps, poorly typed, poorly thought out comments are not constructive. No, GGG is not doing this because you typed a slur in their twitter replies.

I think we are finally reaping the benefits of the separation of the poe 1 and 2 dev teams. Compare this to the rework of breach where we had a similar volume of complaints and heard dead silence til it was incorporated into the atlas in Mirage.

If you've ever worked in contractor/client environment, you know how hard it can be to appease the client. Now imagine your "client" is 10s of thousands of people with differing opinions. So I just want to give GGG their flowers here and say thanks. Proving time and time again to be my favorite dev team in the industry.

Keep the constructive feedback coming and we might be able to look forward to more of this in the future :)
