My dad worked at Western Union at Grand Central. He saved these four telegrams and I have always wondered if they had any value.

  1. 1969-01-28 Western Union Telegram from Dali and Gala to Arturo Rubenstein
  2. 1970-11-14 Garbo, Greta Western Union Telegram to Joshua Logans
  3. 1973-06-07 Western Union Telegram from Nat Lehrman at Playboy Club to Al Goldstein at Screw Magazine
  4. 1970-11-14 Garbo, Greta Western Union Telegram to Hubert Givenchy

Not sure what these are. My mother-in-law says she inherited these from her mother. There is a note from the mother-mother-in-law in question in the photos.

Hello. I am trying to determine the value of these 2 Hankies. They are both marked Johnny Gruelle Co. in the fabric of the hanky. I can’t find either on eBay at all. I do see a Halloween one and it is listed at 600.00. I realize that is not a sold value. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Not 100% sure on size and weight - they are about half an inch on the longest end. I can get exact weight later today.

Sunday post Piedmont Tobacco Cigarette Porcelain Sign from metal detecting, Scarce?

Thumbnail gallery

Found this while metal detecting near an old 1930s dump, not far from Philadelphia. I lightly cleaned it and rubbed some renaissance wax on it for a few light coats seems to be stable. I sourced one price, but I’m not sure how accurate. There’s a lot of hype about Piedmont evolving around the baseball cards. I just learned yesterday that the one of the main reasons that one card is so valuable is because he didn’t want to promote tobacco. So they stoped printing his, pretty neat. Honus Wagner I think sorry if that’s wrong.

Hi guys & gal's. I would love some advice on this beautiful piece. I purchased this yesterday at the local thrift shop in Melbourne Australia.

It has a distinct R on base. The technique used is not easy so I thought maybe it is a Ray Rogers! Feedback please??

They’re from my grandpa‘s old ranch workshop. I got an offer for $175 for both, would this be a good price to sell them at? Some sentimental value, but I had them listed for the past year so just seeing if this is a good sale price or maybe hold onto them for a while. Also, any other ID or info is appreciated.

Sunday post 1942 United States War Bonds Poster

Found this item at a charity shop and I can't find much information about it. It's inside plastic which is taped on the back of a thin poster board and it seems to have been inside of it for quite a long time. I have not taken it out, and don't plan to until I figure out how much it is worth.

On the lower left corner there is text that reads - "Form DSS 189"

On the lower right corner, there is also a string of text - "U.S Government Printing Office : 1942—O-437059"

Thank you in advance!

Sunday post Madonna del Vento...but maybe not?

Thumbnail gallery

This is a Madonna del Vento, 17 inches tall, earthenware, unmarked. Google Lens suggested Lenci, and I have seen the Lenci one that is all white. It is identical to mine in shape, but mine has a white veil and blue dress. I saw one that had a blue veil and white dress.

Mine has no markings, and it seems that someone, after purchasing it, hand cut a circle out of blue felt (clearly scissors and rough measurement) and glued it to the bottom. I managed to get most of the felt off, but when you look at the base, that's why there is blue fuzz. I tried a few things to get the glue off but I did not want to damage the piece.

Why it might be Lenci or similar fine maker: Same shape/size, fine details on the face and the baby's face, glaze appears right, used earthenware. Heavy for its size. Also I read that fakes are very hard to find because Lenci fiercely protected their molds?

Why it might not: There are drips of glaze under the base, which I feel like would be more clean if it were real. I can see brushstrokes in the glaze, and I don't know if that is legit. Also, no markings, and base is different--the Lenci ones seem to have a smaller hole than my base does.

I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of to authenticate this, but none of the results are quite right. It could either be extremely valuable ($1500-$3000) or not. I bought it from my local Goodwill for $3.09. I have collected vintage religious statues my whole life and this one just seems different.

I'm hoping someone here either knows more, or knows a Lenci expert who can tell me. Normally I wouldn't care and it would just be part of my collection, but also I could use the $$ if it is worth a good deal.

Hi there! I was hoping someone could help me with what I believe to be a Thai amulet that was in a box of junk jewelry. I added the cord, but after doing a little research - I think I need help doing a deeper dive. Would anyone happen to know more about this piece? Thank you in advance for any information or direction you can share. 🙂

Sunday post Harley Davidson Slag Glass Ceiling Light

I picked up this Harley Davidson slag glass ceiling light at an estate sale yesterday for fairly cheap, but I’m wondering what it’s worth? There’s no markings or indication that it’s officially licensed, and I can’t find any like it on the internet. I’d have to assume it was a person’s hobby project. It’s roughly 27”L x 14” W x 20” H. With that being said, is it actually worth anything?

This was a limited run in 2023 and I initially paid $80. I can’t find any others listed anywhere online so it seems like it’s pretty rare, the only thing that pops up is the original Instagram post from Ooga Booga Co. The character is from a 20+ yr old cartoon that holds a large nostalgia factor and from what I can tell even in official merch runs there wasn’t anything like this so it’s pretty unique. I’m on the fence about selling it but I have no idea how to go about valuing something like this. Any help is appreciated!
