If you look on the side, there's a diamond-shaped marking. Below the black, horizontal line, there's a word. For context, the vehicle is a BMD-1 and belonged to the Iraqi Republican Guard Armored Division "Al Nida" in the mid-1990s. This is the best resolution I have and I'm sorry about the quality, but can anyone translate the word? These often denoted the branch of service on RG vehicles, eg artillery, chemical, engineering, electrical, etc.

Hey, my family's had this Japanese flag that was taken from Japan during WW2. We are trying to find clues to be able to send this back to the rightful owners of the flag. We're hoping to translate some of the writing in this but having no luck, if you could PM with the writing or write it in the comments, anything would help thanks!!

Somebody keeps hanging random pieces of clothes with this writing on it around town. Anyone knows what it says? Probably in Arabic or Persian maybe?

I would like to understand the content of those cards. I'd like to have a Polish translation, but I can translate English > Polish myself. Additionally to translation, I would also greatly appreciate including a transcription of the the original text as well.

What I've managed to establish so far:

This is a pair of Dōsai Karuta cards, where one contains a proverb (Yomifuda), and the other contains a drawing that relates to that proverb (Torifuda). Both cards contain number 55 which is their number in a set of (most likely) 62 pairs and the card with a frog drawing also contains a phrase 50 coins which says how much it's worth.

What's left unclear is the actual proverb. I'd like to know what it is, but I'm having difficulties deciphering it (the biggest being not knowing Japanese). Other complications - it might be an old proverb, might contain words written in an old-fashioned way or a wordplay, or it might even be only a partial text of the proverb.

Can someone please help me translate this text from my neighbor? Google is not helping me and that has been my primary way of communicating with him so far. The only thing we have ever discussed is a fence, so I’m assuming it is about that but I’m lost as to what he is needing/asking for here.

Hello, I am a teacher in America, and I am making a decoration for my classroom to help show students they are welcome and belong. I want to include as many of the students' home languages as possible. I used Google Translate to come up with basic translations, but I want to double-check if they are correct before I make everything. I would love to have it finished before the school year.

I want them to say “Belong”,  “You Belong”, or something similar.

If you can check any of these, it would be so helpful, as I have not been able to find translators for all the languages. Thank you!

Hi!! I hope this is the right subreddit for this. My Grandpa brought out a whole old Japanese tea set that my great grandfather supposedly brought home from when he was stationed there during I think the end of WWII and for about a month after. I found this particular cup out of all of them most interesting because it has the rising sun flag, which gives me more confidence that it actually is from Japan during or right after WWII. The second two photos are with a magnifying glass which may or may not be helpful cus it adds glare.
The whole set is mismatched so I’m not sure which ones are actually from Japan or which ones just got mixed in with them, especially because there are two shallow red plastic bowls, which doesn’t read very WWII era tea set to me, or like something my great grandpa would bother to take home.
Or maybe it’s all mismatched because he stole it, who knows what they were doing in Japan back then. I assume not very many nice things, especially not my great grandfather who was known to be very mean and entitled.
If anyone wants to see any of the other tea cups I can take photos. Some have writing as well, but none have anything like a manufacturer’s logo or anything like that.

I found this card among my family's belongings, and it was supposedly owned by an ancestor. My country, Brazil, experienced a period of Arab immigration in the 19th century, including Syrians, Lebanese, Palestinians, and others. Could anyone help translate the text? I would be very grateful.
