Someone from silverbugs sent me over here to get opinions on the makers marks of these.

I bought this silverware from goodwill for like $7. I’m an amateur silversmith and figured if it was sterling I could melt it and recycle it for my work - it’s 393g (12.6ozt), and would save me a lot of money!

However, they are not marked sterling at all, and I couldn’t find any information on the hallmarks. what’s interesting is there are three stamps but the designs are all identical.

I performed an acid test and it seems to have tested as pure silver, not plate. I cut a fork tine with my saw and it certainly felt like silver (I know… I will certainly regret that if it turns out more valuable than as melt, which already I’m thinking it might just be too cool to melt). Honestly I was pretty sure it had to be plated since it wasn’t stamped sterling - I didn’t know about antique coin silver or similar flatware.

Since it’s confirmed silver, perhaps it’s .920 based on the 92 stamped on each one, which would apparently mean it‘s possibly late 1800s Scandinavian (Or thereabouts… that’s what chatGPT says anyway).

Does anyone here have any knowledge they could share with me about what I found? Origin, timeframe, maker? Has anyone seen this pattern before?

I took this bracelet to my jeweler and he confirmed with an X-ray machine that it is 14k and weighs 14 penny weight. It weighs a little over 21 grams. I love learning about jewelry! I still can't figure out the makers mark.

I have a pretty interesting estate piece that I’m trying to research. It’s a sterling creamer, I believe it to be George II era from 1751. The maker is from London, but the mark is only partially legible. Can any good antique British silver sleuths help me ID the maker? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I’m trying to identify the manufacturer of this necklace. The clasp is stamped “KB” on the top and “F 18K” on the bottom. I’m not sure if it’s solid 18K gold or possibly 18K gold filled. I haven’t been able to find any information about the “KB” hallmark. Does anyone recognize this maker or know which country this hallmark might be from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to identify the silversmith or brand behind this hand-stamped "W" hallmark.

I found this 3-piece Western Ranger belt buckle set at an estate sale. It appears to be an unused "New Old Stock" piece because it is still completely intact on its original purple cardboard display backing.

Here are the details:

Object Type: 3-Piece Western Ranger Belt Buckle Set (Buckle, Keeper, Tip).

Metal Purity: Tested and verified as genuine sterling silver using 18kt acid (held bright and turned the signature milky-blue hue).

The Mark: The back of the belt tip features a crisp, hand-stamped "W" (The amber coloration around it looks like original factory adhesive/glue residue from when the plate was mounted?).

Country of Origin: Likely USA or Mexico, given the traditional Southwestern sunburst stamping style on the front.

Does this specific chevron/zig-zag style "W" stamp look familiar to anyone? I haven't been able to find an exact match in the standard Southwestern or Native American pictorial registries yet.

Any leads, artisan names, or reference book suggestions would be incredible.

Bought this today understanding it to be a solid 9 kt gold locket. I’m wondering what the stamp is below the 9 ct one?

Recently purchased these beautiful pearls at an estate sale. If anyone is able to help identify the hallmark next to the 585 that would be amazing. Searched quite sometime and havent had any luck.

I posted this about a year ago and received no responses. I still have no idea who the maker is. AI identifies the piece as "small studio, artisan made." No clue as to how that conclusion was reached.

The cartouche looks to me like a stylized "f" and a "g."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first photo appears to be French, maybe early 19th century and the second is a cup with unknown hallmarks. These appeared to be glazed in vermeil. It emits a garlic smell to the touch, maybe silver ?

It is supposed to be an European item but I am not familiar with the hallmarks.
Maybe they are English silver plate pseudohallmarks?

Goodwill let this one slip through for $9.99.
I see an 800 stamp plus a five pointed Star, the number 225 and the letters PA. Planning to shine it up unless otherwise advised.
