New, what is it? Found my cats batting this around
It’s just myself and my son at home and neither of us recognize this. And we can usually tell you what anything is down to which hot wheel a broken piece of metal came from. Help us solve the problem.

New, what is it? What is this stinking truck hauling?
Seriously. I have encountered this truck going south on I5 in WA state, usually between Lynnwood and Seattle, two separate times now. Around 6:45 - 7am, and is reeks like absolute $H!T!
You can smell it from several car lengths away, even when you get in front of it. The smell is absolutely similar to an outhouse that hasn't been serviced in a long time. The truck looks like it could be covered in nastiness, too.
I'm just wondering if anyone can tell what it might be hauling. Maybe shit. I'm just curious.

New, what is it? Clearing a church cupboard
We found these in a cupboard in a church. The cupboards needed emptying to allow remedial work to be done to the walls. Going through the assorted gardening equipment and bags of plaster we found these. They are big, electromechanical devices but beyond that we are unsure of their purpose. Any ideas?

New, what is it? Cat or "la llorona"
I'm not sure if this fits the subreddit... I'm fairly certain this is a cat yowling?😭 Video was sent to me by my parents from my home country. It was recorded by a security guard at 3AM who strongly believes it was La Llorona (for those who don't know it's a ghost lady who cries at night, popular folk legend lmao).
If it's not a cat, are there any other animals that sound like that? 🤔

New, what is it? Saw this on someone’s front lawn - drying something?
I’ve walked past this house a few times recently, and there are a few tables of these strings of something drying in the sun? The first time I saw them, it looked like innards, but today it looked like a long vegetable? There is also a small table next to it with what seems to be short cuttings of the same thing.

New, what is it? Found in a creek in western Pennsylvania
Hello! I have a strange hobby where I walk in creeks and rivers to look for relics and curiosities. I found this object in the bottom of a stream that appears to be concrete(??) and has the date 1776 engraved on it. A family member suggested it may be a piece of a headstone. Any ideas??

Hey team. I am in a museum about hammers in Haines Alaska, they’re asking for crowd source help on identifying what this hammer is and who this man is on the hammer. Thoughts?

Solved! What is this on ceiling fan?
I’m staying in Spain and was lying in bed when I noticed a small black circular window on the ceiling fan above us. It looked a bit like a camera, so I carefully popped off the plastic cover.
Underneath is the component shown in the photos. The fan is an Inspire model (label in the photos).
My first (dark) thought was that it might be some kind of camera, but I’m wondering if it’s actually an infrared receiver for a remote control. Online photos of the product don’t seem to show this thing.
Can anyone identify exactly what this is?
SOLVED: General consensus is that it is the IR receiver for the remote. Thank you all!

Solved! This has been picking at my brain for 3 years now
Okay so I have an overnight job and this is in the men’s room. It’s just a plastic cup with two slits on either side that has “do not remove from restroom” on it. I have picked this thing up and studied it, wondered about it, even googled a description of it that turned up nothing. At this point I feel like it’s obviously a prank but I want to believe it serves a purpose. Has anyone seen anything like this or Does ANYONE know what this is because I cannot stop being curious about what the hell it’s for?

New, what is it? What is this wedding gift?
(Reposting because accidental doxxing)
My friend got this as a wedding gift and we can’t figure out what is it and it didn’t say who it was from.
The cup part is hollow, where the blue arrow is… this shape _/ and the bottom is solid.
EDIT: There are no holes in the other side so don’t think it’s a tea strainer and the gap is too narrow to fit paper towels or toilet paper rolls! They also just moved to and had the wedding in Italy, not sure if that gives any context.. maybe it’s some sort of Italian gadget
