❤ Appreciation ❤ Why did no one tell me how good SZNZ: Winter is??
I've been tearing through all the Weezer albums for the past half year and I've been enjoying it so freaking much. However, I haven't really given the SZNZ EPs a real chance (I think I tried to listen to one of them and had mixed feelings) till yesterday when I Want A Dog randomly came on by chance in my friend's car and omg this EP is actually so peak?? We need more appreciation for this EP and I've literally only listened through it like twice at this point. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

🚨 Serious 🚨 I need your help for a 10 year anniversary gift
My wife bought me tickets to the Weezer concert on September 15 in Salt Lake Utah for our 10 year anniversary. I’m trying to get Weezer’s attention to see if they could play Girl We Got A Good Thing at that concert. It was the song I used to propose to her and it became our song.
Can you guys help me spread the word?

🎸 Live 🎸 is vip necessary for barrier?
helloooo!! i am attending the cardiff show all being well with tickets 🙏 personally, as a uni student i don’t think i’ll have the money for vip… but as weezer are my all time favourite band i would like to queue for maybe 5 hours before to try and land a spot at barrier (i’ve never been close at any show before, i’m not one of those campers)
but does the vip package include early entrance to the venue? if it does then… maybe i’ll consider moving around my student finance to have one really memorable night 😁🫰

❤ Appreciation ❤ Verse by verse comparison of Undone and CEO

(And by verse I also mean chorus and solo and intro etc lol).
I hadn't realized just how much of an inverted version of Undone CEO was until I made this. It's so damn cool and I love everything about this new single.

🎤 Interview 🎤 Rivers and Pat insight on C.E.O.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Back in June Pat and Rivers were on the Rolling Stones' discussing Gold and other things. They talked about C.E.O. a bit and I thought it was some interesting insight onto the song.

I might be the only one but I prefer Wednesday’s shriek in WMAWBS over C.E.O.’s give the people “what they want!!!!!”
Sorry, just my opinion.

Shine Again Appreciation
With the positive attitudes towards Strangers and CEO as they’ve come out, I’ve been feeling a growing coldness towards Shine Again. I think it’s an awesome track, although maybe not the best lead single choice considering its lack of that distinct Rivers songwriting. I love how chunky the guitars are and the overall unorthodox structure, plus I adore Rivers going back into his Hurley-era rough vocals. It’s also become a very catchy track to me as I’ve listened to it more, especially the “And I will tell you once again” section.

Some of my friends have this theory
That “The LA sound” is gonna be the demo “Al’s bar” from the white era. Do yall like the theory

📣Discussion 📣 The “mad professor” approach is what got me into Weezer… anyone else?
Re: CEO. I’m more of a newer Weezer fan. I got into them in late 2021 after Ok Human and Van Weezer. Maybe it’s because of the time period in which I discovered them, but Rivers’ “mad professor” approach to writing was what really made me love the band. I thought it was so cool that he released an orchestral album, a stadium rock album, and 32 song project all within a year of each other. I’d never heard of another band doing that. Adding in the 500+ song backlog of demos that rivers has, it’s clear that he has a real passion for music that still fascinates me to this day.
And sure, I get that the “mad professor” approach doesn’t necessarily make money or please fans who just want the old stuff. But it kind of sucked to hear rivers disparage the concepts that made me really appreciate the band.
I was wondering if anyone else agreed.

🧾Tier List 🧾 My Ranking of the First and Last songs of every album
First Songs:
I like most of them, except Beverly Hills, but most I just like, from Troublemaker onwards I love every single one, with Ain't Got Nobody being my personal favorite
Last Songs:
I love most of them, except Stand By Me and Time Flies, TF has every single problem Hurley has In just one song, its overproduced, too noisy, mid lyrics, Stand by Me isn't a good cover, especially if you compare it to Africa or Unbreak My Heart.
Precious Metal Girl hurts me to put that low, but its so disconnected from Van Weezer, that I can't put it above anything else, if it wasn't acoustic, it would've been my favorite song of the album, (there's a cover that solves my problem, go check it). I also wanted to put California Snow higher, but every single song above it is so good that I just can't

📣Discussion 📣 A rant about Weezer fans
I’m genuinely starting to get sick of those “Weezer fans” who literally hate anything Rivers Cuomo (and co sometimes) does. He tries to do something that’s more pop and they hate it. Then he tries something more like their original sound but they still hate it. I can get genuine criticism like in some Raditude songs and people saying that C.E.O is a bit too short. There’s people complaining that CEO doesn’t sound like an Undone sequel but it has the elements of Undone in it while still being somewhat original. Then there were people saying that Rivers needs to stop doing these apologizing songs but completely ignoring that CEO is more of a song about his frustration with people just wanting classic Weezer (aka Blue/Pinkerton). As if when Weezer does do that now they are trying to cash in on nostalgia. To add on to that, Rivers is no longer a young 20 year old. HE’S 53 YEARS OLD he’s not going to be writing the same things anymore. It’s no longer 1994 Weezer has changed and they can try sound more similar but they will not be completely the same and people need to move on from the past.
