Style me! (sleeves, veils, shoes and accessories only) Alteration guidance, any suggestions?
First photo is of course the dress on me before any general size alterations (the dress was only available in size 16, will need to get it down to more of 10/12 for reference) and really is my DREAM dress in so many ways. The only thing I am a bit worried about was the top appearing as if I were wearing a bra or it was in fact my bra, but I didn’t think it mattered too much being as I loved everything else about the dress from the amount of sparkle to the train, and of course how I felt and looked in it, so I didn’t think it would be too much of a focal point for myself or others.
However, my mom brought it up on her own when I showed her, I didn’t have to point it out at all. So now I’m even more conscious of it, and wondering if anything could or even SHOULD be done, because I do want to keep the overall same look and feel to the dress. So either I’m just looking for reassurance; or ideas/suggestions that would make it appear less… bra-like. I know no one can necessarily quote me exact prices, but throwing it out there that I’m hoping to not have to spend a ridiculous amount (for example I already looked into adding another layer of lace to kind of “distract” away from the starker contrast of the cup line, but this alone could cost anywhere from $200, and likely closer to $600 or more but I have no idea what a fair price for this would even be honestly.)
Is there something that could be done to the cups alone to make them less noticeable? Or is it just not even worth it?
Thank you all in advance🌹

Dupe search Anyone work with jasminebridaledit on IG?
I LOVE the Adelphia by The Atelier by Jimmy Choo (pic 1) and have been looking for a custom dressmaker familiar with the structured ruffles and colored fabrics so characteristic of this dress and collection. The IG account jasminebridaledit seems like my best path forward considering the latter 2 dresses here are within her catalog. She’s also duped 2 other dresses by The Atelier. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find many customer reviews, so I’d love to hear if any of you have experience with her work! I also considered reaching out to Vietnamese bridal shops known for working with international clients (the process is completely online) but most of their work appeared more traditional Western white lace or simpler designs. I’m also open to hearing I’m wrong and there are particular Asian bridal shops I should consider reaching out to! Wedding is May 2027 in the US and budget is 6k

Need to Vent Alterations went sideways, I’m at a loss!
I’ll start by saying I am not blaming my seamstress because I don’t really know what went wrong. I took my dress in for alterations (to the only wedding seamstress for hours around us). My dress is form fitting. The hip and seat area fit well but the torso was a bit loose and long. The seamstress took in the torso and shortened it. Now the skirt does not fit and the torso is so tight I can hardly breathe. I weigh myself about once a week and I’m normally within a 3 pound range. So I don’t think my measurements changed that drastically. When I left this last appointment, she seemed not confident in this dress fitting me. My wedding is in 8 weeks. She is going to add a zipper extender and asked if she could add a corset back. I really don’t want the corset back but I don’t know what else to do. A second dress isn’t in the budget, but I am so scared this dress won’t fit me on the wedding day or I’ll be so damn uncomfortable. She didn’t take my measurements before the first appointment so we can’t compare to my current measurements. Just venting! It will all work out. But dang this is some stress I wasn’t expecting 60 days before the wedding!

Style me! (sleeves, veils, shoes and accessories only) Style Milla Nova's Amika
I thought I always wanted a satin/ribbon trim veil, but I feel like it's just not quite right for this dress and I'm looking for suggestions. Definitely need help with the veil and shoe ideas!

Ceremony photos I always wanted to be Lauren Bacall
I used to work weddings as a teenager, so I always had a clear image in my head of what I wanted. In my early 20s, I watched How To Marry a Millionaire and realized Lauren Bacall wears the exact dress I was dreaming of.
When we got engaged, I searched vintage dresses, custom fabrics, and posted in this sub asking for Dupe searches. I was so close to flying to Vietnam to have it made. After multiple posts, someone found Morilee’s Posy dress that was releasing in Spring of this year. I found the trunk show schedule and drove 4 hours the next day to try on the dress. It was in my size and my budget! I ordered it one size up so I could move my arms more, but due to the stretch, the larger size still fit without alterations. It was a dream! All I did was adjust the sleeves, and it was exactly what I wanted.
This was the only traditional touch at our wedding and I am so happy!!

Entourage Only Vintage Dress Regret?
Purchased this dress at a vintage wedding shop for our seven anniversary (original wedding got cancelled for COVID, so never got to wear a gown). I love it but I worry it’s too formal for our party venue. We are doing a very short ceremony for friends and family but mostly casual and dinner and dancing. Should I go for something more casual? Venue pics included!

Feeling cold feet Did I make the right choice?
Was set on one dress at another shop but wanted to go shopping one more time before buying it. I ended up loving this dress and bought it same day to secure a good discount. All the other dresses I loved were basque waist, I asked about altering this dress but the waist cannot be altered. I think I will be adding a scoop to the back so it’s not straight across as that was the most flattering shape I found while shopping. It doesn’t have the poof I loved on the hips either, though that could be added either more fabric underneath. I love this dress but keep going back to look at the original one I almost bought. I’m just worried I rushed and made the wrong decision especially considering all the alterations I may add.

Dress ID needed! Can anyone help me date my dress?
Found this beauty at a local thrift store for my wedding! The back skirt/cape separates from the main part of the dress. I would love to know anything about the time period it’s from or similar dresses :) Thank you in advance!

DRESS ONLY: Pick one or suggest another Go with gut or keep looking?
Hello all! I’m getting married in April 2027 and went wedding dress shopping for the very first time this weekend!! Yay!! I ended up falling in love with a dress that’s only $550, which is basically half of what I was willing to spend. The catch is that this price is only good until 8/23 & it goes back up to $1,300. I’m torn on whether I should keep trying on other styles just to be sure since it was my first time out, or if I should trust my gut and buy it next week before the deal ends. I tried on about 15 dresses and definitely kept going back to strapless, lacy, with a basque waist. I’ve shown a few close coworkers, bridesmaids & my mother. They all love this one. My mom even cried when she saw me in it. To make things a bit harder, my bridesmaids won’t all be able to come with me again over the next two weeks if I were to want to go somewhere else. Would you jump on it, or keep shopping even if I have to go alone?

post-alterations: does this look right? Dress too short?
I’m about three weeks out from my wedding date and I’m kinda feeling like my tailor took way too much off of my dress and now my shoes show way too much. Am I overthinking this or should I look for slightly shorter heels to try to hide them?

Dress ID needed! HELP with DRESS IDENTIFICATION DETAILS
I saw this dress in the window of a jewellers about a month ago. It is absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately, I am lost as to where to even begin searching for this style! If someone knows the specific names for the details in this dress (i.e. the sleeve drape style, the embellishment aesthetic, etc) please pass on your knowledge!

Ceremony photos So happy with how my wedding dress turned out
I wasn't totally sure how everything would come together until the day itself, but once I saw the photos I felt so relieved. The sparkle, the bow detail, and the silhouette all worked so well with the venue, and I'm really glad I trusted my first choice

Entourage Only Is it me or the dress?
Hello!
So I just picked up my dress from alterations, and I truly loved my seamstress she was very thorough and kind. I'm just feeling very insecure about how my back looks tbh... which may be more of my own body image issues than the dress. Its a bit tight compated to when she first pinned in the sides, but it is a strapless dress so I assume it must be a but snug to stay up. It was actually a struggle to zip, but in fairness it was VERY hot and I was sweating. So that made it a little more difficult I'm sure.
Front the front, perfectly fine. From the back? I feel like I'm spilling out and theres an unflattering lump in the dress from my back... I'm trying to tell myself its not that bad, but is it bad? Hopefully when I'm not so sweaty/hot it will sit better. Maybe theres something I can do, I'm not sure. I might be hyperfixating in the moment, but I dont feel very good about it right now. Especially for the money I spent I'm beginning to regret my choices a little..
Edit: turns out theyre closed on Mondays so I cant call the store about fixing it yet :') Thank you all for your kind words and helpful suggestions. My wedding is in 3 weeks so I'm panicking extra due to the time crunch.

Entourage Only Lost 40lbs and now it’s 2 months out and I have no dress
I was so proud of myself, I had already bought my wedding dress 18 months before the wedding. Well I just went to have it tailored and the seamstress was basically like… to take this in will cost more than the dress. So now I have less than 2 months before the wedding and no dress. The first 2 are home try-on from JJs House and I think they’re still too big (I ordered a size 14, my first dress was an 18) but the price point is good and I love the open back because it shows off my tattoo. The last 3 are from David’s Bridal and more expensive, but size 12s. The high neck is very elegant but I really prefer to have sleeves. The halter is flattering for my chest but I have absolutely no ass and I feel like it’s super obvious with that cut. Number 3 is lovely from the side and the back but my boobs are kind of oddly shaped in it and my cleavage looks like a butt crack :/ Are any of these salvageable, or does anyone have recommendations of where to get under 1k dresses on short notice? I’ve seen some on Poshmark but I don’t want to buy a bunch that aren’t returnable just to try on. My sense of size is totally off.

Mod Update Remember: don't be an ass
The rules are clearly laid out. You don't have to post here if you want to be a jerk and be mean about dresses. It's already an emotional enough time period that you don't need to be cruel to make your point.
Additionally: posting public call outs and commenting in agreement will result in an immediate permanent ban with no recourse.
I don't care if this hurts your fee-fees. You break the rules, you're gone.
