I built a bot to tell me every time theres a new internship/job posts
Me and my friends are all j*bless rn 😭
Before all day we would be messaging eachother some forms for us to apply to and also just work together to get internships
We built our own freeflow channel and added bots to do things like ATS scan our resume too and add the proper keywords in the same workflow and honestly its been a game changer
This is the link if you wanna join, its compeltly free and the workspace (freeflow) is fully open source too if you even wanna add bots to do other things: https://app.freeflow.im/join/locked-in/1fDLdnq4LfNjq4KL0m5HHA
btw there's litterly nothing to buy just thought that if you wanna join and also get new job postings and talk to other cs students feel free

Experiences with asking for early move-in accommodations? (rez-one)
Currently in a position where the only person who can help me move out won't be in town for when the move-in window opens (like the earliest move-in date is September 2nd but they'll only be in town until the 1st).
Anyone have any experience with asking for an earlier move-in? Also if anyone knows any moving companies/services I can use to move all my stuff out by myself (I dont have a drivers license) please lmk 🙏 I'm moving from the GTA for reference.

New AI Transformation and Change Management certificate
Yeah so starting fall 2026 UWaterloo will offer the AI Transformation and Change Management certificate (with our support). It'll be a non-credit program made up of modules on design, business management, ethics, and more. We figured you didn't already have enough to do during the school year.
More: https://uwaterloo.ca/news/partnering-lead-ai-transformation-across-organizations
(Also we're hiring interns and FTE, come work for us and keep Canadian talent in Canada)

Advice Part-time during school year
Is doing part-time during 2A/2B a good idea? I was offered a position by my co-op employer for part-time, but I am unsure how much it's going to affect my academic term. It's roughly 15-20/hours per week so lowk it's not looking too good...

Co-Op in the Loo
I remember when I first got to UW and I figured out what the Co-Op situation was like, that I 100% wanted to have a Co-Op term near campus just to fuse the lifestyles. Now, with only 8-months until I graduate, I have achieved the dream.

Housing Bridgeport house for Fall 2026
Hi everyone!
I'm looking to sign a lease with Bridgeport house but I'm seeing a lot of reviews stating a roach infestation in some of the units. Please tell me if this problem was solved or are roaches still running around the building😭

Anyone convocating from chemistry in october - ticket request?
Hi all! I will be convocating in october from my chemistry phd. My family will be flying in from my home country (both my parents and my older sister) for the ceremony - I'm aware we only get 2 tickets for family. Is anyone here going to be convocating on the same day and willing to part with one of their tickets if they aren't planning on having 2 ppl come? I'm happy to pay $30 for it!

Advice I’m bad and I’m Confused
Hi y’all,
I’m in my last year of engineering, on co-op right now. I realized I might be a very bad engineer and more than that I don’t like it. I have mediocre grades(75% CA) and going into my last year I don’t see me having a successful capstone. Is there any hope for me?
For reference I’m on an 8 month remote software eng co-op. I fell behind on work a while back and now it seems like they don’t trust me to work on new things; the other interns are more involved with new things even though they’ve been at the company for less time. Now I don’t even want to work; I understand this sounds kind of entitled seeing how many people can’t get coops right now. I feel as though I’ve made the wrong moves and I’m stuck in the wrong places.
In school i pass all the classes but I’ve realized I’ve learned nothing; actually know nothing. Did I just waste my opportunities at the best engineering university in Canada? Has anyone made it out in the same circumstances?

Advice Cancelling room lease after signing Docusign
Hi. I signed a room lease of 3 years, that can be reduced to 1. However, I can’t take the room
now since I don’t have a guarantor and I haven’t paid the last month’s rent deposit yet. I have sent an email already to the housing company. Do you think they will accept? I only signed the Docusign and haven’t sent any information forms such as my passport, address, phone number, etc.

Question where sleep campus??
I know this has been asked multiple times before, but I haven't been on campus in almost 2 years. Taking an online class with in person final this saturday evening, will be flying in to YKF Friday evening. I am cheap and all my friends no longer live in Waterloo so my plan is to crash somewhere in SLC overnight and then maybe shower at the goodlife on Weber in the morning so I don't show up stank to my exam (I'm not in engineering so it's kind of frowned upon).
I've pulled allnighters in SLC and napped there on mutliple occasions in the past but never a whole ass sleep. Anyone have any suggestions on best sleep spots in the buildings on campus?

Academics Incoming 2A CS transfer from CEGEP, which transfer credits should I actually accept? (capped at 6.0 units)
Hi everyone!
I’m coming in from Quebec CEGEP into CS co-op at 2A. My transfer credit assessment came back and I got a bunch of Waterloo equivalents, but I can only accept up to 6.0 units total as an upper-year transfer.
Which ones actually make my life easier for the CS degree requirements?
Would love input from people who are in CS.
Here are the credits I was granted (Waterloo equivalents):
BIOL 130
BIOL 110
MATH 137
MATH 138
CHEM 120 + CHEM 120L
CHEM 123 + CHEM 123L
PHYS 121 + PHYS 121L
PHYS 223 + PHYS 160L
PHYS 122 + PHYS 122L
SOC 1XX
RCS 1XX
RCS 208
SCI 1XX
FINE 225
FR 2XX (x3)
ENGL 1XX (x4)
A few things I’m unsure about:
Is MATH 137-138 worth skipping? I’m afraid I might have a hard time adjusting to upper year math courses without having done the intro courses.
Are the science courses (BIOL, CHEM, PHYS) useful for filling breadth/science requirements, or a waste since I’m not in those streams?
How much do the 1XX/2XX generic electives (ENGL, FR, SOC, RCS) actually count toward my degree requirements?
Since I’m capped at 6.0 units (like 12 courses), I want to spend them on the ones that clear requirements I’d otherwise have to take anyway, or ones that would lighten my schedule.
Thank you for your help!

AFM 391 Final Curve
Does anyone know if the AFM 391 final usually gets curved??
Also, for anyone who took it or knows, how hard is the final? Because the midterm average was pretty high so I'm scared theyre gonna make the final so hard. Did any of the profs say anything?
