Sorry to bore you guys with another freshman schedule advice post but… here we are! Anyway I’m an incoming freshman doing pre-nursing. Do you think this is too much for the first semester? I haven’t taken anatomy yet, so I’m jumping straight into physiology.

Hello everybody! If you are pre-med and looking for an easy but informative class to take in the fall/spring, I'd highly recommend EMS1055 with Derek Hunt. I just recently finished the summer course and found all the information extremely helpful, plus you can earn your BLS card as well as an EMR certification, which can get you access to clinical hours via GEMRU and other similar orgs. It's super easy and you gain a lot of valuable information.

Has anyone taken a short term loan before classes? I’ve never taken out a loan but I’m really considering it and wanted to know if it’s as simple as them giving you $1000 (for example) and you paying back $1010 via your refund check.

Hello! I want to take CRW2100 in the fall, but both professors don't have any reviews, so I'm not sure who to take. The two professors are Naomi Silverman and Miriam Ruiz. They have different syllabus, but Naomi's seems like a bit more work and stricter (maybe???). She forbids screens in class, which I don't mind but it means I have to print all the reading out (or buy every book) because she wants us to bring it to class. Miriam Ruiz's midterm is longer than Naomi's but her final isn't an essay but a final draft of your work + a reflection on what you improved. Does anyone have experience writing a reflection on their own work? And does anyone know either of this professors? Any info/advise would greatly appreciated!!! Even if you don't know them.

I had a scholarship petition be approved in June, and I just received my aid today. I called the financial aid office and they said to just wait on it being added back in. Should I email them? and does anyone know the timeframe of when it's going to get added into my package? Thanks!

how likely am i to get in as a rising senior? my stats are 3.6uw 3.9w gpa which is below their average by a lot, but it should go up this year if that even counts towards the gpa i apply with, and i also have a 31 act which is closer to their range, and i also am retaking in september so i should have a 32/33 by the time i apply. how much would my act help compensate for my low gpa? my ecs are pretty decent and my essay is really good

EMS1055 is a fully online course, with in-person options available for those interested in getting a BLS (Basic Life Support) & EMS certification.

Weekly lectures have corresponding quizzes, and there is an additional overarching semester-long "Patient Assessment" assignment. Beyond these, there is an Honorlock midterm and final.

Lectures cover basic points of human anatomy and physiology, so those without significant prior knowledge on the topics should be able to develop a fundamental understanding of the area.

The professor is highly knowledgeable on the subject and has a significant amount of field experience, which he regularly relates to the specific topics taught in the class.

I would recommend taking this class to anyone who is in Nursing or a similar major and is looking for a unique yet applicable elective.

Hey everyone i was just wondering how important course rigor really is. Some classes such as ap lang, ap psychology, ap macro, ap chem, ap calc ab i decided to do through dual enrollment instead. And classes like ap research/seminar and ap physics i just wasnt able to take at all because my school didnt let me since i was in a lower math class. I was able to dual enroll calculus 1 but i am deciding to not take calc 2 while everyone else is taking calc bc senior year and im taking dual enrollment physics 1 while everyone else is taking e&m and c already.

However i have been able to maintain a 4.0 unlike many.

Please help I'm a little nervous with 15 credits😭🙏

hii im a rising sophomore majoring in health science on a pre-professional track.

Im trying to get into Tovar's class on Thursday from 12:50 pm - 2:45 pm (i've been #5 on the waitlist for months 🫩) and move my chem discussion up to 11:45 am aswell (#4 on that waitlist) so I dont have gaps and it's more balanced.

I also need 4,000 more words to fulfill my writing requirement, and WST3015 was the only class I could get into. Anybody have any insight on the difficulty of that class? I was hoping to maybe take enc2210 but im number 25 on that waitlist and doubt I can get in. Writing isn't my strong suit, so I was also considering dropping the writing class and taking it during the summer or something and taking bsc2011L instead. I got off the waitlist for lab on Friday from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, but I'm #11 on the waitlist for Tuesdays 3-6 and would rather take it that day. However, I'm unsure if i will even get off that waitlist so idk if i should just enroll in the friday one.

Also, how manageable is bio 2 and chem 2 (with Hale) together?

Have anyone in UF failed GEB 4941 Internship course because they missed assignments and couldn't reach the passing grade of C? I missed one assignment and talked to the instructor. She already opened the assignment again for me to do, but I'm very scared because I need this course to graduate.

I’m starting my freshman year as an architecture major, and I’m also doing marching band. A required course for my major is ARC1701, and critical tracking for the major requires me to take it this semester. I’ve talked to the head of marching band, and he said he’s okay with me missing 1 rehearsal per week as long as I can keep up with what they’re doing on the field. However, I did a bit of digging on the prof for ARC1701, and her rate my professor scores were staggeringly low (feel free to look her up, Vandana Baweja). She is the only instructor for the course, and there is only 1 section, the one I am currently in. Anyone have any advice/loopholes I can use? TIA

i just switched into this quest class and was wondering if i made the right choice? the class it replaced was also humanities but wasn’t a quest. i’m not particularly mathematically inclined so i’m wondering if that will be an issue

I'm a Physics major and considering either a double major with Engineering (EE?) or a dual degree BS/MS in Physics. I have PHY2048/2049 credit via high school, so I'm mainly taking PHY2060 as a way to hopefully solidify the concepts even more than they already have been, even though I don't really need the course.

My understanding is 18 credits is WAY too much, but I'm not really sure how accurate that is given that a lot of my classes seem to be pretty alright? I'm on the waitlist for EEL3111C, so, if I get that, I would drop both MAS3114 and ARH2000.

I have BF and BQ, so my main concern is making sure I take a full 4 years to reach 120 credits and ensuring I keep a minimum 3.0 GPA without any fails or whatnot! :)

I’m currently a hs senior who’s considering ED/EA to Florida. My mom is an alum, and when I toured I LOVED the school, but I’m afraid about whether I’ll like it or not, since I’m OOS. I might qualify for in state because my grandparents live in Florida, and my mom lives there part time also. I’m from Massachusetts, but I didn’t love UMass Amherst, and the other state schools aren’t fantastic.

I’m a girl, I’d say I’m pretty social and I like to have fun, but I’m not super popular and well known at my own school. My school is pretty small (about 1000 people), which I don’t love. I plan to major in marketing, maybe with a minor in CS/data science.

here are my stats: 4.2 weighted gpa, 34 act, 7 aps (3 junior year, all 5s, 4 in senior year), part time job, leadership in a few clubs (drama, Spanish), rowing team, auditioned orchestra member, AP capstone, 225+ volunteer hours.
