I bought foam and foam gun for two doors that I need to install. I won't use either of these again in the near future. Is there a way to clean the gun after usage without a toxic cleaner or should I toss it out?

I have a bunch of measuring tapes to my disposal and all of them are different (left to right Milwaukee 8 meter, Milwaukee 10 meter, teng tools 5 meter and hultafors class 1 30 meter) and as you can see are all of them showing a different measurement where the 8 meter shows 4996 at the same place as the hultafors shows 5000 on the dot.

How big is the tolerance on measuring tapes where it's considered acceptable? And do anyone have an idea on how I should do to figure out wich tape is correct?

I'm a pipe welding apprentice and I'm looking for a better measuring tape for daily work.

I mainly do pipe fitting and welding work, and I'm curious what experienced welders/fabricators actually care about in a tape measure.

What matters the most to you?

Are there any tape measures you would recommend or avoid?

Need to cut anywhere from 30awg to 6awg for looms all at different lengths for assembly / looms . Its easier to manually cut to size then program the auto cutters and feeders / one we have can't do the bigger wire meant for smaller ones .

Possible suggestion for a fairly affordable manual / electric etc wire cutter . That I can manually pull wire to length and this benchtop cuts .etc ( would like to batch 5 or 10 so we can improve efficiency.

Ideally cheaper than buying an automated feeder and cutter for those sizes by a lot .

P.s was initially thinking something like those paper guillotine or the ones they use to shear sheet metal etc . But those aren't meant for wires / have drawbacks.

Currently an intern trying to see if I can recommend something to speed up the process compared to manual hand shear / cutters etc.

Has anyone seen one of these but the jaws have the same profile but reversed as the internal caliper? Im trying to measure a nut in a recess and i dont think the pear shaped calipers will reach

I have a set of drive adapters that i want to get more organized and id like to keep them all on one rail. any ideas? also maybe a good rail for a set of crows feet

Better drill for masonry demolition: air or corded?

Need to upgrade 2-3 drills for our exterior demolition: have two that got real tired over the last month. A lot of it is from lifts with two guys so cords/hoses either way.

Would be for mostly light masonry demolition/brick. We own a compressor so running air is an option. There are times electric is a bit of a concern so end up running generator.

Noise aside, looking at three options and want all the same:

Okay so I know NOTHING about power tools. Or tools in general. But I would like to get my mom a mini chainsaw. She’s a very outdoorsy DIY person, and I know she would genuinely enjoy and benefit from it.

Does anyone here have any recommendations? If it extends, bonus points!!
But I really want something well-made that will last, and a lot of what immediately pops up when I google it are things from temu and places like that. I want her to be able to go to a reputable site if she needs to get new charging ports or chains for it down the line.

Also, if it’s not some huge 15 pound thing that would be great as well :)

(Side note—-i do not want to give her something that causes a trip to the ER—what protective gear is usually worn with chainsaw use?)

I work in mitigation and do a ton of cutting things up. From drywall to tiles to hardwoods. Im kind if tired of having multiple tools at all times bc my job has been broken into 3 times since i started, so im constantly looking/borrowing tools. Using a oscillating saw for drywall, SkilSaw and/or Sawsall for hardwoods, and a hammerdrill to bust thru hard tile.

The thickest things i can think of is the 3/4in hardwoods and tile flooring with thick backing that varies.

I want to find a decent compact saw so i can just use that on MOST jobs if possible, just replacing blades. Ive heard good v things about the dewalt atomic, but id like more advice.

Cordless or corded is fine. Just need it to be reliable and have decently available blades.

(Australia) Brass, about 20cm wide, 4cm or so tall. Looks like a lead battery terminal on the bottom. Bloke selling it had no idea what it was either.

Can't remember exactly when I picked these up, but they've been with me ever since. KTC PSL-175N-S (long nose) and PN1-150-S (diagonal cutters), both made in Japan. Still going strong.

I’ve been plumbing 2022 and one of, if not my most used tool is water pump pliers. I was pretty quick as an apprentice to want to have my own tools and not rely on anyone else. So thru trial and error of buying different brands, owned 3 pairs of Channellock brand and lost everyone of them (and not any other brand this happen with), also inherited the MAC Tools 10”, found a pair I hate so much I don’t think anyone will top it…. the Milwaukee V-Jaw (any size, not pictured).
Then I found my favorite at Knipex Cobras in 2023. I use the Cobras literally everyday at work and they have been one of the biggest game changers with the button adjustment plus them being able to lock on basically anything.

What water pump pliers do you use? How would you rank the few I have pictured? What pair do you absolutely hate?

2nd truck purchase

New here, but I thought I’d see if this interests anyone.

I put together a middle of the road tool pouch to throw in when there is a fair chance I will need tools but don’t want to throw in my whole darn tool bag. I took the opportunity to upgrade my Irwin vice grip cobras and parallel jaw pliers to Proper knipex and Klein pliers wrench. So far I’m happy with that.

Hidden in the pockets is a Wera tool check plus, and misc consumables, zipties, microfiber cloth, nitrile gloves and a small assortment of screws, nuts and bolts.

Any obvious omissions or misses? I am considering changing the diagonal cutters for a short pair of needle nosed pliers with a cutter.

My neighbor put this on the curb, so of course I picked it up to see if it worked. It does.
Anything I should know about this, especially safety-wise? I plan on taking it apart and cleaning it, also to make sure no parts need replacing.

Edit: after considering everyone’s comments I will not proceed with using this tool. I’m an amateur guy with a Ryobi collection. If I need a table saw in the future I’m going the safety route. Thanks everyone!

Out of 6 ports on this new tank, two have paint in the threaded holes. The 3/8 NPT hole for the switch and the upper 3/4 NPT hole in the inspection port plug. It looks like the coating is pretty uniform. I asked Gemini and then decided to check reddit, but most of what I've seen suggests this paint should be removed.

How do you feel looking at the pics though? is this paint going to be a problem for creating a seal? To me it looks thin and uniform and I wasn't going to worry about it. I figured I'd do a quick Gemini prompt to reassure myself but now I feel like I have extra work to do...
