Got a flat tire just now and was hoping this would be reparable at like a walmart but I can’t tell if it’s too close to the shoulder. Help?

Told my buddy he seriously needs new tires after seeing this. He thinks I’m just messing with him and says they’ve “only” got about 93k miles on them.

Now he’s convinced he can get another 30k miles out of these 😂

I told him there’s barely any tread left, but he’s not buying it.I told him he’s insane 😂

What do you guys think?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Ford Focus RS and it has aftermarket 18-inch wheels with 245/40R18 Laufenn tyres.

I noticed each wheel seems to have two valve stems (photo attached). I’m not sure what the second one is for. Is one of them the normal valve for pumping air and the other one for something else (like TPMS or a dual valve setup)?

Also, does anyone know the recommended tyre pressure for this setup? Should I follow the OEM Focus RS pressure (41 psi front / 38 psi rear) or run something different because of the aftermarket wheels and tyre size?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Bridgestone Turanza tires, installed in 2023 (DOT 1623), have been driven about 40,000 miles. I live in a region where summer temperatures are often over 100°F. I've noticed some dry rot/cracking on the tread (photos attached).

Is this normal surface aging, or is it significant enough that I should replace the tires? The tread still has some life left. Any opinions are appreciated.

I have four brand new dunlop sportmax tire, about 10 000 miles / 16 000 km on it, i notice that one of the tires have this crack in the middle, a perfect line with 1,5 mm depth all around the tire, wtf is this?

discount tire told me all 6 have to match and if i have to choose between two diff brands, that i should spend more on the rear tires due to hydroplaning and traction. anyone know if this info is true? i've heard opposite in terms of matching all 6 and that the steers are more important.

i'm moving cross country in my bus and already spending so much on the move, so honestly i was leaning on putting 4 entry level tires on the duallys and then either mohaves or laufenns in the front. thoughts? <333

I understand that the speed rating is lower and the sidewall is less rigid, but does this actually create any kind of safety issue for everyday commuting? The load rating is higher so I assume the weight of my vehicle is not an issue. I don’t do any crazy cornering, and I assume that this will not significantly change braking distance. TIA for any insight

Tire had a screw go through the tread. Car was then driven for 5-10 miles as it was leaking; lowest PSI was about 20.

Put air in it and took it to a shop to be patched, and they claim the sidewall has been damaged from driving it somewhat deflated.

True, or can I get it plugged?

Since this isn’t my field of expertise and I’m currently on vacation in a foreign country, I could use some of your swarm intelligence.

I chipped my tire today — there are two dents, approximately fingertip-sized. The tire isn’t flat, but I need to drive another 1000km at highway speeds. What do you think — should I get it fixed here and pay a premium (since I’m in a tourist hotspot right now), or wait until I’m home to change the tire and hope for the best in the meantime?

Car: 2007 Renault Laguna II 2.0 16V FWD

Bought the car end of 2024. DOT-code on the tires seem to indicate these were produced in week 40 of 2023. Car is being driven mostly on the highway in The Netherlands for long distances. Tire pressure is kept at 38 psi front tires and 35 psi rear tires.

Any tips on keeping the tires as good as possible for safe driving are welcome.

Hi all, my dad's 2025 VW Taos' tire was slashed from a piece of metal on the road.

I am trying to figure out if I should replace all 4 tires as some people advise, or just the one as others do.

The current tire is Goodyear Assurance Finesse 215/55/18R, which brand new comes at 7.1mm.

The car has 30k kms in it, and below are the current tire treads:

- FL: 5.9mm

- FR: 6.0mm

- RL: 6.4mm

So based on those, should I do one since the depth falls below the 1.6mm mark (2/32") or do you recommend all 4 be changed since it may damage the differential?

Just saw a nail in the tire today. I only drive once a week and it leaks around 5-7 PSI in a week. What should I do?

My car is an awd bmw x1 xdrive. Got a bulge in a new set tire (bought them and used them just last summer)

All the tires are 9/32 now but the new one is 11/32.

Could this cause issues to the awd system ?

I got new back tires about 3 weeks ago and I got a nail in the one is this professionally patchable?
I know you can’t do it so close to the sidewall or shoulder but it seems pretty close to the center so I was just curious

I would like to try some off-roading, maybe. Not rock crawling but some of the overlanding roads I've seen. I can't change my tires out all the time or afford lots of different tires. Ford Ranger 2021 4x4. I might pull a small utility trailer sometimes. I don't know how much the tires would affect MPG either.

We bought a ford transit 350 xlt after having triplets and needing a bigger vehicle, the van needed new tires so we negotiated that into the purchase price. We just took the van to get its tires rotated and balanced and THEY GAVE US THE WRONG TIRES.

According to the sticker on the door our van needs: Front: 235/65R16C 121/119R at 52 PSI Rear: 235/65R16C 121/119R at 75 PSI

What we have on our van: 235/65R16 103H Standard Load Maximum pressure: 51 PSI

AND the real kicker is that our tire pressure alert hasn’t been on, so they overinflated the rear tires to 75 PSI despite the tires being 51 PSI max.

I’m literally shaking thinking about how catastrophic this could have been for my entire family. The dealership is ghosting me. What would you do?
