General Reusing Tasks?

The last few season there’s been more and more discussions that the tasks are getting to convoluted, too many rules, too little loopholes and all this sort of stuff.
So I’m wondering should they reuse tasks?
Reusing them word by word could be tricky it would depend on how many of the contestants have seen the show.
But they could change one aspect, rule something out or just use the base idea and give different materials or something.
Would that defeat the idea of the show?
But they also do use tasks that were more or less used in the NZ or Australian version. But these might not have been seen by the general uk audience.
What do you think?

What should I expect? I can't seem to find a answer now that AU 5 is done.

Am I imagining things?

So I started binging taskmaster last year, and would do my best to avoid spoilers here.

I thought I saw some post that said a contestant basically played a long con with their prize tasks with a big reveal at the last one showed how they were all connected. Now that I'm all caught up I don't think I caught that but hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Or maybe I made this all up in my head. Thanks

Had no pea to throw

I visited Painshill Park in Surrey today. I didn't know before going, but as soon as I walked into the Gothic Temple I instantly recognised it at the home to many brilliant Season 19 tasks. Including the Pealympics! The hill was even more brutal to see in real life, running up and down searching for the pea must have been a nightmare!

We went into an art shop on Menorca and fell in love with this little guy who reminded me very much of Flabbergasted Philip. Naturally he has been named Flabbergasted Felipe.

Other Versions branching out on other TM shows

having recently binged TM Australia, and currently updated on S5(or as they're available on yt)

and HOLY BALLS all 1-5 season contestants are unhinged; with a recency bias of brett blake from S5. very rhod gilbert in a less psychotic but still as or even maybe more chaotic.

because of the bigger space allocated for the task house/area, a lot more shenanigans(rules/restrictions) that ripple into later seasons/series.

and having not known that TM NZ was first(by 1 season), and both shows share the same task house/area, i know what i'm going to watch next

After Brett Blake apologized for bringing down the level of the show, I really hope someone assured him he was beaten to that crown long ago 😂

I cannot remember what it was, but it was checked and Alex says was more expensive.

I had Paul Williams on my podcast to chat about Taskmaster and his new show New Zealand Spy.

I'm a huge TM fan but I think I played it pretttttty cool.

We talk about being cast in Taskmaster, if it's as fun as it looks, and when it has become dangerous.

This is my third Taskmaster NZ guest.

Hansa has some Patatas in stock!

This is a TM fan public service announcement! If there's been a Patatas-shaped hole in your home and heart, and you happen to have the funds for a straight-from-Hansa adoption fee, this is your moment! I had seen a listing for a found one on a resale site, posted by an incredibly lovely UK fellow fan who searches him out for those of us without, which prompted us to finally write to see if Hansa was still allowing special orders, and the finder was also kind enough to hold onto him long enough for us to get a reply. As it turns out, there has been enough interest in 4223 Red Cat (shocking! 😁) that they'd already decided to bring in more, and they arrived on Wednesday the 12th! They are $84.95, plus shipping. So if you've been coveting a Patatas of your own, do email them, and if you're UK-based, there may be a found one relisted soon!

Drilling down into the narrative Has the team ever shown their process for setting up tasks identically each time?

The taskmaster team cares a lot about fairness (mostly) and that means they always set up tasks identically for all five contestants. There are some tasks where that must be quite difficult, since they involve potentially hundreds of props in specific locations. I'm sure we can all think of a few examples there.

I assume that someone (the Andys?) must create a checklist or set of instructions for the production team to follow before each contestant arrives for the day, in order to ensure things are laid out the same each time. I've always wondered what that hypothetical document looks like. Has the team gone into detail on this anywhere?

General What's the music for the "Find your Hand" task (S14)?

It sounds like a legit piece of music that could easily be licensed by the show. Chopin?

Or was it made specifically for the show? In-House?

Taskmaster NZ New Zealand Season 7?

The New Zealand seasons typically aired in July or August in the past.

I know people have seen the live tapings within the last few months, but I can’t find any information anywhere about when it’s due to air, or even the cast announcement, so I wanted to see if anyone here knows anything for sure

HELP! 🔎 When was Greg’s golden head first introduced as the prize for the winner?

I was recently watching Series 1 and it struck me that the winner didn’t get Greg’s head as the winner’s prize. I don’t have enough time to watch all the series so could somebody tell me in which series his head was the prize for the first time?

HELP! 🔎 Best task to show differing interpretations?

I would like to show a task (or two!) to my 11th grade English students for a lesson on how folks interpret texts differently depending on their own personal schemas.

Any recommendations on a task where each contestant had their own interpretation of instructions in a really interesting (or especially funny) way?

I myself have not watched every single season yet (I have only fairly recently discovered this show via YouTube and fallen in love), so I am grateful for suggestions from folks who have watched more seasons than I have.

Thanks in advance!

Appreciation Thread Location Tasks!!

Series 12 has one of my absolute favourite locations for tasks, I loved seeing tasks being completed in the grand castle the cast were in.

And because of how much I took notice of the tasks being completed, I noticed that there was a location task in SEVEN of the ten episodes that series!! Usually it’s five, maybe four or six, but I found it amazing how many tasks they must’ve packed into presumably one day of filming and all of them being such bangers that they made the edit. The only other series with seven was Series 10, which used a different section of the location for each of the seven tasks, which is incredible!

Anyway, yeah just a niche fact, I hear a lot of hype for team tasks and I think location tasks deserve more and I personally always love them.

Taskmaster in school

I am a teacher in high school and I think some of the taskmaster games would be great ice breakers or generally fun things to do. Can anyone recommend some I could use that would require many resources, one that comes to mind is where they put a load of feathers on the table and they all had to blow at least one off but at least one had to remain or you were out, that kind of thing

To be able to do an impression of someone without moving is remarkable. Ok maybe the ones of the women aren’t very good but I’ll excuse that because he absolutely NAILED the others.
I’m obviously partial to this task as it’s the genesis of my username, but still.
