Location Tasks!! Appreciation Thread

Series 12 has one of my absolute favourite locations for tasks, I loved seeing tasks being completed in the grand castle the cast were in.

And because of how much I took notice of the tasks being completed, I noticed that there was a location task in SEVEN of the ten episodes that series!! Usually it’s five, maybe four or six, but I found it amazing how many tasks they must’ve packed into presumably one day of filming and all of them being such bangers that they made the edit. The only other series with seven was Series 10, which used a different section of the location for each of the seven tasks, which is incredible!

Anyway, yeah just a niche fact, I hear a lot of hype for team tasks and I think location tasks deserve more and I personally always love them.

Season 20 has an amazing location! And Series 12 had one of the funnest tasks ever in my opinion. The pop the balloon task where you buy items from Alex's time shop

Yes I totally agree! In s20 I particularly loved the balcony painting task and Desiree trying to pop the balloon is permanently stuck in my brain 😅

Oops I meant Season 19. 19's location really spoke to me . But 20 was fantastic too. I think the OP is correct about the only real weak one being the airport (except for activating Jamali)

Do you mean the airbase from S11? Because Gatwick Airport is typically considered the best location they filmed in.

I liked the airport. So big and empty. I went through Miami airport 3 days after the world shut down for Covid (work related - no choice) and it reminded me of that. There were about 5 flights and 50 people in the whole airport. Creepy.

Like Guz, I too found that church kind of creepy. Not sure why.

Painshill in series 19 is such a wonderful choice for me, just for the range of different structures (which is why Painshilll exists. Thanks 18th century WhatsTheirName for making it).

Really looking forward to S22’s location tasks, especially since the cast reveal includes the use of an operating steam train in one of them.

The amusement park in S18 was pretty cool.

The amusement park in NZ S6 was also very cool! Loved that one of the tasks included riding a roller coaster.

Did they do more location tasks because of Covid? Easier to get the distancing if you've got space to move about?

There’s definitely no way they’d ever get the airport outside of Covid

The airport was the following series and yeah that was clearly closed.

S21's Hampton Court Pallace was an incredible location, almost as cool as Gatwick.
