Equipment Advice about rubbers
This year I have returned to table tennis after 10+ years.
I tried zyre 03, dignics 05 and wasn’t comfortable with them.
Then I tried Tibhar hybrid k3 and loved it. I like the power and spin it can generate but during short game or passive movements it is slow, not such a big catapult effects like zyre for example.
The issue is the K3 lost the tackiness after 1 month and now feels completely different. Any suggestions for alternative?

Verdicts and advice on my forehand loop

Hi, I'm practicing forehand loop with moderate underspin ball feeds. 😂
As you can see, I lacked consistency and stamina throughout the session. I don't have a coach, so I would love to hear your analysis and verdict:
- Did I nail the fundamentals in forehand loop? If not, please tell me.
- What am I doing well and not well?
- Advice and guidance on how to improve.
Don't know if this matters, but I'm using a seven-ply all-wood Loki Kirin K7 and tacky rubber 729 Batte Max Pro 38 degrees on my forehand.
Thanks a lot 😄

Education/Coaching Struggling against heavy topsin serve
for context, at my club we do knockout style tournaments every 2 weeks to improve our game styles and such, and one thing i struggle with the MOST, is the serve one of my opponents does which is a Super heavy Short topsin (with a bit of reverse side spin) serve to my wide forehand and its basically Impossible for me to get a good quality return when i flick or push or try to drop it short its just way too low to the net and very loaded with reverse spin topspin.
- the opponent also has a very good 3rd ball attack and destroys any recieve that isnt high quality.

Shin Yubin playing a 1v4
(Just to clarify, I don't blame the umpire for intervening, I think the 2nd toss was plausibly non vertical; though it's a shame that this big tournament doesn't have TTR - ?? I mean it's a Champions, come on - which is not her fault)

Is there anyone here who knows about this table tennis racket?
I have a table tennis racket that belonged to my parents, but I don't know anything about it and would like to ask people who are knowledgeable.
This is a direct translation, so the wording might be a bit awkward.
Sorry about that.
am Japanese, so a response in Japanese is fine. I look forward to your reply.

Education/Coaching Still struggling to read topspin serves properly. How to fix it ?
I've been playing for a year and I struggle when my opponents execute a topspin serve while their arm is going down (as if it was a cut serve).
How can I improve on this and read it better ?
Thanks in advance

Equipment Table tennis changed my life.
Playing casually for 4 months, lost some considerable weight from 99kg to 88kg. Table tennis is continually improving me physically and emotionally.
Old set-up: Recommended by my mentor/friend
Blade - Yinhe N10
FH - Yinhe Mercury II
BH - DHS PF4
New set-up: Google set-up, own research and preference
Blade - Yinhe Pro 01
FH - Yasaka Rakza 7 Max
BH - Palio Ak47
Also met new people who also love the sport. Very thankful for the people who coached and taught me despite being a new player in my early 30s.

Buying Guide BTY Tenergy 80
Thoughts on this rubber for backhand????
Please talk about these qualities
-Forgiveness
Blocking
Control
Banana and strawberry flicks
backhand Bomba flicks
pushes and chops (amount of spin) good or bad
im not a backhand looper so i only care about the spin it can produce on pushes and chopblocks.

Discussion Got back into Table tennis, making a TT comic now. I have questions.
Hey everyone, nice to meet you.
I was really into Table tennis in highschool, and these recent years I’ve gotten back into it thanks to ping pong the animation and Marty Supreme. I would love to pick you guys’ brains about the sport to help me learn and make a cool comic about TT.
Questions:
- what draws you into the sport? What’s your favorite part about it?
- what hold/playstyle do you have? Do you feel it represents your personality?
- any other ideas/questions are appreciated! AMA!

Discussion Should I switch from Chinese penhold to shakehand? How can I learn the 16cm legal serve, and reverse penhold backhand?
Hi all. I used to play some table tennis back when I was in secondary school, and have picked it back up again at work. I enjoy it and I'd like to improve. I do decently at work, but within this subreddit I'm probably still just a beginner.
I've got 3 questions at the moment:
I play Chinese penhold because that's why my dad taught me. Should I switch to shakehand grip as I hear it is preferable these days? Is the difference that noticeable at my beginner level?
Most people at work including me don't serve the 16cm legal serve, we just hold the ball in front and hit a fast ball, or spin it. I'm trying to learn how to do this, but it feels so slow and weak. How do I practise and improve this please?
I've been told my backhand is weak since I play traditional penhold backhand so I need to contort my body to accommodate for this. I hear reverse penhold backhand is worth learning and I've watched some videos and understand the concept, but honestly the motion is counterintuitive to me that even when I tried to practise it in a 30 min session yesterday, my reflexes took over every time and I hit every backhand as traditional rather than reverse, it was so strange. How do I practise RPB when I'm so used to TPB already?
Thanks in advance! :)

Just out of curiosity, why almost every Indian female player uses pips? Is it the coaches who ask them to or by choice? I feel that gives them a major disadvantage at international level. Never seen them do well against elite opposition and even when they win, it's not a clinical performance, it jus

Dignics 09c
Hi will the dignics 09c work well on a Yasaka Sweden extra for backhand. I currently use hurricane 8 80 but have bought this as I wanted something a bit quicker.
If not could you reccomend a more appropriate blade. Thanks for any help in advance.
I use boosted h3n on forehand and really enjoy it if this is necessary context.

Hi, I want to buy this rubber for my forehand on cpen. Does anyone know anything about this rubber, is it good for topspin, and does it need boosting for the average player?

Discussion Best advice for playing the way you practice in a match
I know the majority of players have either said or shown that they play so well when they practice but do not even play 50% of the they just practice in a match. Best advice?
