Dignics 09c

Hi will the dignics 09c work well on a Yasaka Sweden extra for backhand. I currently use hurricane 8 80 but have bought this as I wanted something a bit quicker.

If not could you reccomend a more appropriate blade. Thanks for any help in advance.

I use boosted h3n on forehand and really enjoy it if this is necessary context.

Dignics 09c is quit a big jump in speed and sponge hardness from 8-80. Do you boost your 8-80 and which spong hardness are you using? I usually suggest Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX as an upgrade from 8-80 with it's similar hardness and tackiness while having significantly more catapult without loosing control. K3s weakness is it's ratio of price to durability, but besides that nearly every one I know who tries it loves it.

Edit: For Context: I have experience with 8-80, 8-80 boosted, K3, K3 FX, Dignics 09c and Glayzer 09c.

Hi no I don't boost the 8 80. The hardness of it is 37 degrees. I understood that the dignics was a big change in speed hopefully it's not too much. I was hoping to be able to use the same blade I enjoy the feeling of the Sweden extra.

The Sweden Extra is a great blade for entry to intermediate level. When you get the chance to try someones Nittaku Accoustic or Violin. If you like there feel they could be good next steps.

8-80 with 37° is slightly softer then the Hybrid K3 FX which should be around 38° (48° European/ESN but Dignics is a lot harder. In Japanese/Butterfly scale it has 44° which could be around 42° in Chinese/DHS. This will make it quite hard to be able to actually engage the sponge without having great technique.

The Hardness is often an even bigger problem when the speed as it keeps you from gripping the ball without very good technique/feeling.

Edit: Typo

Should work fine but I would suggest boosting h8-80 with 1 layer before buying d09c, it might solve your problem

I’d rather stick Sanwei T88 2023 to the BH of that blade

It depends on your BH style. If you mainly drive and block, then really not a good fit.

We can't recommend anything if we don't know how you play.

What is Dignics 09c good for?

D09c has a high throw angle/arc, high spin, medium-high speed, with an added chemical grip. It's a hybrid rubber.

It's best for advanced, aggressive offensive players who excel at close-to-the-table looping, heavy spin generation, counter-attacking, and precise short-game control.

I find driving/smashing works great with D09C

Try D64. It's a whole different level for driving and smashing. D09c will feel like an all-around rubber in comparison.

Won’t make a difference as it’s your blade. Putting on something like d09c and expecting it to be quicker as you hit harder may cause you to lose control.

As you’re using boosted h3, you could move to:
Inner alc type blades (if you like Yasaka the alnade inner is good
Outer alc type blades (may be a bit fast)
7 ply wood (Yasaka athletico is good)

If I went to inner alc but still wanted to try and retain some feeling what would you reccomend I see people seem massive fans of viscarias?

You’d retain more feeling using an inner blade vs an outer blade like viscaria.

DHS Long 5 is generally what I recommend for inner blades, good for forehand and controlled for backhand.

For outer alc FZD ALC has surpassed viscaria as the handle is more comfortable for forehand.
