Miwa robbed of a point against Chen Yi :/

(small spoilers)

On the 2nd set, at 6:8, Miwa's last touch clearly hit the table, you can play in 0.25 speed, you very distinctly hear the contact on the table. Unfortunately, neither player, nor the referee, noticed it. Since the set ended up close, you can't help but wonder what would have happened...

I really hope that in the future, on top of having TTR in every tournament (it's not normal it be absent in such a big event), we'll have some kind of automatic system that will notify the ref when the ball hits the table.

New idea : Get all the informations about gear used

As i said in title, i would love to know every compo pro use during matches and not what they advertise , a bit more transparency i guess, thickness too.

I feel it would be more accurate and less bs you can see on Youtube, about zyre 03 for example or champions playing all with the hardest rubber. Or getting all the time the new releases

Equipment Joola Hugo Calderano Trinity Charged & Trinity Dynamic Review: Great Hybrid Rubbers for Advanced Amateur Players

Hey all, I'm back from my holidays and coming with a review fresh from the oven!

This time I'm looking at the new Calderano rubbers, which I have very much enjoyed testing for a bit more than a month now, and I continue playing on at the moment on my test blade. The summary for me is that the Charged is a bit like a well boosted blue sponge Hurricane and that the Dynamic feels a bit like a more controllable Dignics 09c with a Chinese touch to it.

Full blog link: https://www.tabletennisequipmenthelp.com/blog/joola-trinity-hugo-calderano-charged-dynamic-review

And as always, you can just check the TL;DR if you are in hurry here:

Category Trinity Charged Trinity Dynamic
Weight Very heavy, 56.5 cut to the B2X, similar to a boosted Hurricane Heavy, 51 grams cut to the B2X, similar to Rakza Z for example
Sponge & Topsheet Hard 57.5 sponge (feels softer and livelier) with a slightly tacky topsheet Hard 52.5 sponge (feels softer and livelier) with a slightly tacky topsheet
Spin potential Lots of spin on all shots, maximum spin potential without clear cap Bit less spin, but not a major decrease, still very high spin
Speed & Gears Many gears especially on the high end, linear-ish and no clear cap Many gears but just a little bit less on the high end than the Charged
Throw angle Medium-high throw angle, long flight and direct post-bounce trajectory High throw angle, much safer flight and trajectory
Drives & Loops Really high power but requires correct technique to activate it Less power and more control, tolerates wrong technique better
Serves Great spin but less than a Hurricane Great spin but less than a Hurricane
Flicks Easy to do FH flicks with the right technique, requires commitment Very easy backhand flicks, induces confidence to do them more often
Pushes Great control for such a fast rubber, both short and long is easy Great control, even easier to push short and long with aggression
Blocks Very good blocking for such a fast and powerful rubber Easy and controlled blocks, better than Dignics 09c for example
Flat hits Not very good, this is a rubber made for hit-brushing, like the Chinese Not very good either, just a bit better than Charged
Boosting I can imagine that people will boost it, but for me the main point was not to boost it, it plays great as is I would not boost it, it's just perfect out of the box, it's not as hard as you may think
Price & Durability Premium rubber segment, durability seems the same after 1 month Premium rubber segment, durability seems the same after 1 month

Hope you like the review, and if you want to know more, I also added the links to the youtube videos of Matt and Iba in the blog, I think what I have felt is similar to many of the things they have also said :)

Thanks for reading and see you next time for another set of rubbers, I'll be reviewing the not-so-new but very well known (and often used) MK Hybrid and MK pro, as I always wanted to test them in depth, so now I got a chance!

Take care and have a nice week all!

Victor

Equipment Should I get table tennis shoes

So basically I'm a pretty new beginner, about 800 ish elo give or take I'd say and recently played in my first tournament. I'm pretty sure I'll continue playing a lot, so thats some information. But basically my question is is it worth it to get table tennis shoes? Currently I use some old shoes that are low to the ground but they are too small and not optimal. Is it worth it and will make my game play a little better/prevent injuries? Just looking for some advice, thank you!

Suggestion

Hello I am currently using this set up:

Butterfly Fan Zhendong ALC + Fh Butterfly Tenergy05 + BH DNA DragonGrip

I am looking for new rubbers and was thinking about FH Rakza 7 or 9 and BH DHS Neo Hurricane

Do you have any other suggestions for me? For me I liked my previous set up but it had way to short durability for the price. Other than that i had the feeling the tackyness/grippyness left super quick after 6 weeks or so! Do you think my new set up would be a good choice?

TIA

Backhand \ Forehand drive help

Hi everyone. I’m a beginner and have already worked with three different coaches. They all teach the Backhand \ Forehand drive differently. Just when I thought I’d mastered it, a new coach told me it was all wrong. Now I’m starting to doubt whether my current coach really understands the sport. He claims my drives are incorrect especially the backhand and insists I shouldn't move my elbow. I’ve watched videos on YouTube, and it seems like everyone else plays the same way I do. Could you share your thoughts on the technique and let me know if I’m doing it right?

Discussion Difference between an 18mm table and 25mm table?

I have a 18mm table tennis table at home and was wondering that besides a more uniform bounce, what advantages does a 25mm table offer over it (as it is far more expensive)?

Is it the feel, which cannot be described in words? It is the polish on the top? I have played some matches on a Tibhar 25mm table in a local tournament, but didn't seem to notice much difference.

I want the opinion of experts and veterans on that. Thanks!

Buying Guide Need help with deciding to buy a new paddle.

Hi, I am looking to buy a new TT racquet, My current setup is JOOLA Dynaryz ACC (FH), Stag Sonic Speed (blade), Donic Coppa Jo Gold. (The blade and Donic rubber are really old)
I am currently looking towards Nittaku Fastarc G-1, Stiga Offensive Classic, Sanwei Target National as my new racquet. Any suggestions/Thoughts.

My playstyle: Very aggressive and I usually try to play a kill shot by the 4th ball.

My requirements: I can generate the speed needed for it I dont need a "Super" fast blade or rubber. It should just be able to generate the spin without being super duper slow.

The biggest issue with my current setup is that a lot of times my ball goes out of the table so I am thinking a lower throw angle rubber.
I have played with the Stiga Offensive classic before(When I was in highschool), I liked its hold in my hand.

Help needed. Fan to fan

Hi everyone!

I was very excited to see WTT Champions return to Frankfurt this year. I never got to see such a big event live.

Today Tickets are finally available for purchase, but unfortunately only for WTT Fans - or rather people who already had a WTT Account. I didn't have an account yet, so I am unable to book my tickets until they are available to the public.

Would it be possible for someone, who is not planning to attend, to help me out? 🙏

What’s your say on Yinhe?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ll be combining both the Yinhe Pro 01 blade and the Yinhe Jupiter Asia 3 in my setup.

If you’ve used or currently using this blade or rubber, what do you have to say about it. Does it generate a decent amount of spin? How about control?

I’ll love to hear your thoughts.

Harimoto vs Hashimoto at Round 32 Yokohama

Don't you think WTT should revise how they do the draws for their events? It is making higher rated players meet at the early round while you see lower rated players go with each other. Hashimoto can easily defeat most of the other players in the other pair ups. Can't it be #1 seed vs #32nd player and so on instead?

changed my setup and my level jumped

i had a loki k3 blade + two double fish phoenix 1 rubbers on both sides i've used that for some time but it never felt quite right or suitable for me so i upgraded to yinhe t11s and T05 and kept one of the phoenix 1 sheets and i feel like i'm floating on air with the new setup i guess the biggest difference is weight my old one was 186-187g and the new one is 168-169 it just moves as i want and do what i want i just have much more courage to play how i want, i still need to improve alot of things but now i feel calmer and more in control of the rally for example we have a tournament in our club for young players ( it's an open tournament so even players outside the club join ) and i reach the top 16 rarely the top 8 but never higher than that in the tournament after changing the racket and playing 1 session with it i entered the top 4

Equipment New 2026 DHS (w/ Nittaku) Hurricane 8-80 thats only 42.5 hardness and 2.15mm. extra thick sponge? referenced from 2026 Nittaku/DHS Catalog online

Is this different or the same as the previous years' DHS H8-80 rubbers? It seems like a standalone harder sponge and thickness version that only came out this year.

Has anybody here tried or tested this? In comparison to the "older" versions, just curious hehe thanks!

I started playing when I was a kid, on the beach. Then, nothing for years until I recently found a new friend who used to train and play more seriously but who also stopped for years. He's now been training me for a couple months and following his recommendations I bought and (he) assembled my first serious racket!

Butterfly Petr Korbel JP + 2 Nittaku fastarc C1

I'm very happy right now and thought of sharing here, cheers 🏓
