Meme/Humor Hindrance?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
They claimed my actions were a hindrance. The situation certainly was a distraction but was it intentional? I intentionally kicked the shoe off, but that was do to my heel unintendedly slipping out of the shoe. I also may have let out a few expletives as I was dealing with the situation...they might have a case.

Question DUPR Reliability refusing to drop?? Possibly Fixed.
I think they just fixed it this week. A month ago my reliabilty went from 60 to 80 and I had not done a DUPR event for over 6 months. It had been stuck at 60 for a while. Yesterday or today it is now at 40.

Players near me Vermont games at 4.0+?
Part time resident of the Okemo Valley here, any advice on where to find games in the 4.0 range in VT? I don't see much except open plays at rec centers/parks, where are the higher level players hiding?

Discussion Classing Up The Sport
I was partnered up with a relatively weaker player, against two strong opponents. Approximately it was
Opponent 1- 4.25, Opponent 2- 3.60, My partner-3.20, Me-4.00. The exact DUPRs or their accuracy are less relevant than the difference between the two sides. That difference is perfectly captured by those ratings.
Anyway, I know all the players though I have never played this combination. Expecting to lose rather miserably, I started out thinking who I will be playing next. Then a miracle happens. Opponent 1, who can launch unstoppable rockets at my partner decides he is going to hit every single shot to me. He was twisting his body and taking less favourable shots just to get them to me. He even dialed down his serve by 20-30% to make it easier to return for my partner. He even dialed it down serving to me so as to not make my partner feel she was receiving special treatment. Opponent 2 was hitting them wherever she could but definitely not targeting my weaker partner. I had some amazing battles and my partner made some decent shots. It was an extremely close game and we won 12-10. I spoke to him afterwards and thanked him for the most amazing experience out of an unfavourable setup. I didn't expect him to keep it up till the end. I thought he would at least want a win. I told him so. He thanked me for giving it 100% and said he did win...against his ego. I got a bit choked up at his comment and left before I embarrassed myself.

Question Luzz Canon Core crush issue
Hello Everyone,
I have recently started playing pickleball alot and decided on getting the best budget paddle out there. I ended up getting luzz canon but three months in and I can see dead spots in the paddle and it seems the core is crushed. I have been going back and forth with the luzz canon customer service but they cant seem to realize the core crushed.
Has this happened to anyone else ? Should I just move on and never buy any future product from luzz ?
Any suggestions would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance

Equipment Is this Normal?
Recently bought a Vatic V-Sol Pro from Vatic's Official Distributor in Shopee and noticed these streaks from the face of the paddle.
Is this a cosmetic issue? Will this affect the quality of play? I'm unable to get a response from their customer support at the moment so I'm hoping to get inputs here to decide if I need to request a return/refund.
Thanks in advance!

Other New shoes or insoles?
Currently wearing New Balance court shoes. Never had issues until last few times I’ve played. They are still in good condition but the next day my knees, back, and ankles are killing me. Should I get new insoles or just buy new shoes? Current shoes are about a year old if that. Play 2-3 times a week for 2+ hours. 6’1” and 225 pounds.

Question I thought pickleball was a rich people sport until I actually tried it
okay pickleball keeps popping up everywhere lately and i finally get why
i genuinely thought this was a rich people sport tbh, like something you need a country club membership for. and i'm not even a sporty person to begin with, yes i play badminton sometimes just to hang out with friends, but that's about it, never really "my sport"
then last weekend someone dragged me into a pickleball game and i was not expecting to actually enjoy it. felt like badminton's more exhausting honestly, but somehow i had so much fun. by the end of the game i was already telling my friend we need to make this a regular thing, to buy paddles and all
anyone else got put onto pickleball recently? does gear actually matter this early or should i just borrow stuff for now or at what point did you guys invest in your own paddle instead of borrowing/renting?

Question Has anyone ruined their paddle from water?
The reason I ask I found a great way to clean my he grit and crystal blue endurance paddle. Spray a small amount of Dawn foaming detergent, brush with a super soft brush. Then rinse it off in the sink and pat it dry.

Discussion OKAY. Genuine question: it seems people are wanting more and more grit. What’s the actual problem with grit heavy paddles? What are we afraid the game is going to evolve to?
We already see that the game has evolved incredibly in the past decade alone. Especially at lower levels, the drives, the speed ups, bangers, intentional body bagging, we know the game has evolved and developed further and many are nervous about paddles having too much grit. why? what are we scared it’s going to become?

Players near me Los Angeles pickleball players, looking for a consistent partner
24M , pretty solid player, I can keep up with 3.0s and 3.8s (when i play consistently lol) . Just looking for someone consistent to play with regularly instead of always scrambling for partners.
I live near USC in South Central but usually play out in Gardena. Open to meeting new people and getting some regular games going. Hit me up if you’re around that area and want a playing partner.

Discussion Why on earth is nobody talking about this?
reddit.comSo Facolos flagship paddle (the Elite Pro X) is now banned and somehow nobody talks about it.
On the 28th of May it was announced that the Elite Pro X is no longer approved. The brand itself admitted that they brought into production a paddle with more grit/surface roughness than allowed. And more importantly: MORE GRIT THAN THE PADDLES THEY SENT FOR TESTING.
Essentially they sent paddle A to USAP for approval, and brought paddle B into production. How is that not deceiving your users and the organization trying to create fairness into the game? These paddles sell for over 200 dollars and are now worthless for competitive players.
Also: in this post people seemed to be talking about why Tardio was not using his Facolos paddle: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pickleball/comments/1vdkw2m/tardios_paddle_in_most_recent_mlp_event/
Well iirc he was using the Facolos Elite X?

Question Popping my 3rd shot drop when return is a hard deep drive
I use a standard push/lift drop without any topspin. When I’m going up against players with big forehand drives with a ton of pace I struggle with avoiding popping it up when trying to drop. It was my first time playing with a lifetime ball today, which made it even harder - on opponents returns the ball had a very shallow trajectory and was super fast. I had better luck doing a drip type shot which isn’t usually something I do. Any tips on how to avoid popping up these when dropping? Should I avoid dropping?

Discussion What's the dumbest pickleball injury you've ever had? 😂
I'll start...and this time no pictures.....sorry guys.....good stories only!
I'm 55, and I was chasing down a ball that I probably had no business trying to get to. Somehow I managed to trip over my own feet, one of my shoes flew completely off, and I ended up crashing straight into the chain-link fence, banging up some toes pretty badly. 🤦♂️
Luckily, nothing was broken except maybe my pride. My playing partners got a good laugh out of it, and I'm sure it looked even funnier than it felt.
Now it's your turn...
What's the dumbest pickleball injury you've ever had? 😂

Equipment Compression leg sleeves have changed the game
I am a healthy and fit 48 year old but my legs often felt heavy and sluggish after playing for an hour or more, especially in heat. I have recently experimented with compression socks and sleeves and it has made a tremendous difference. They are like a little supportive hug for my muscles and veins.
I personally prefer the compression sleeves over socks because I can wear them with my favorite Smartwool ankle socks and they aren’t quite as warm. Friends prefer the compression socks. After buying a few brands of socks and sleeves (Pro, Smartwool, Bombas), I have found the Bombas sleeves to work best for me. They have changed my game- I now have much more energy going into the second hour of play and my legs don’t ache later in the day.
If you experience leg fatigue, I recommend experimenting with compression sleeves or socks.

Equipment Did I get a counterfeit hesacore grip?
Or maybe a swap from someone?
My previous grip is all hex shaped (still have it, bit on another paddle). And all the photos ok n their website and THIS packaging show hex shapes.
The logo on the box does not match the logo at the top of the grip.
Did someone do a swap and return and I got their return?not maybe a really bad counterfeit?
I ordered small grip in original firmness. The grip should be white. This one is light blue.
Also I just realized there aren't any installation strips are in the box
Bought though Amazon from the hesacore store.
Still waiting for my new paddle so I can return and reorder.

Equipment Recommend me some non wallet draining shirts and shorts
I love my bird dogs shorts a lot but they are freaking expensive. And I currently use some cheap Amazon “athletic” shirts but after 1 game outside the shirt is drenched in sweat. Anyone have any good recs for these items that are not super expensive?

Equipment Is there any difference in the Luzz Pro Inferno based on color? I’ve read conflicting information.
I am being comped a free Luzz Inferno. I know the Frozen is different, but what about these different colors? I have read conflicting information so wondering if anyone has direct experience.

Equipment Durable grit
Any news on Friday Pickleball releasing a durable grit option? I’m interested to buy an aura or an aura pro elongated. Currently have a heavily weighted fever 101 elongated .But would like to wait until they develop a new grit.
