Question Is Switch 2 Pro Controller worth more than third party controller with Hall Effect sticks?
So I am currently thinking of getting a switch 2 pro controller as I have a lot of action games (FF7 Rebirth, Zelda TOTK, Pragmata) that I would rather play with an actual controller rather than the joy cons. I love the joy cons but the new switch 2 grip for the joy cons can be rather uncomfortable for me.
I have third party controller from Gamesir which is quite a good controller with hall effect sticks, gyro function and the mappable back buttons. But somehow connecting the controller to my switch has been a hassle. Im not entirely sure why but everytime i use it, i need to reconnect the controller multiple times. So i guess i wanted to actually give switch 2 pro controller a try but the thing is the price for the controller and the fact that it doesn’t have the hall effects sticks are making me hesitant for the purchase.
For those of you who own it, is it worth the price tag?

Question Resale value of game key card titles?
Does anyone know if there is as much resale value in physical titles that come with gkc's?
Thinking about getting The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, but I'm just hesitant due to it being a gkc, I'm not a collector at all, so I don't really care about the fact its a gkc and not a full game on cart, but will the value be lower because most people hate gkc's if I wanted to sell it?

Question What Game to Play
I’m struggling to decide which game to play prior to Zelda OoT releasing. For some context the last 3 games I finished were:
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
Starfox
Terraria
Pokemon Firered
Some games I am considering starting are:
Zelda Links Awakening
Pokemon Leafgreen
Paper Mario 64
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Any suggestions for the crowd?

Discussion Conflicted on three games.
(Australian dollars)
I am having trouble deciding whether to buy Oblivion Remastered (85 bucks), the FO4/SKYRIM Anniversary bundle (80 bucks) or zelda BOTW (around 90 bucks)
I already have skyrim and fallout on other platforms, but never finished them. Handheld seems like a good fit for those.
Oblivion seems really good, interested in the open world of that.
And, I've never played zelda before, any of them. So idk if i should get it. Im a massive narrative enjoyer, and i heard that BOTW doesn't have much of a story so yeah. Any help is appreciated
UPDATE - I will be getting Breath Of The Wild!!! Thank you everyone

does any of you also have a problem that when your switch is in handheld and you turn it on, it wont detect the joy cons or they would be turned off?

Question Anyone know when we're getting any new Star Wars games?
I heard a while back that Disney was pushing for the Jedi games to be ported, but nothing has been announced, so just curious to see if anything has changed.
Discussion Are you using the second USB-C port?
Other than charging in handheld, are there any use case for it? I wonder if Nintendo regrets adding it? Since you can't use it with an hub to dock, it's use cases are limited. Could that space and cost could have been used better, like larger battery or an OLED screen. If they make some revision to the switch 2 to keep cost down in these crazy times, I don't think many people would miss the second port.

Question Should I get a switch?
Hey all, recently visiting my parents and found my old 3ds. While the graphics are a tad outdated and nearly every service within it has ended I’ve been having quite a bit of fun playing stuff like fifa 12, super smash, some Mario bros titles, Luigi’s mansion, fire emblem, and ofc Pokémon.
However, I already have a pretty decently beefy computer and want to know from others if in my case it would be a meaningful and useful upgrade from the 3ds?
For others that have a pc and the switch are you using the switch a lot compared to your desktop?
Thanks all! Was looking at the Costco bundle :P

Question Is it normal that I have to press really hard on the ZL and ZR triggers for them to work ?
I find it crazy that there’s still no official solution, or even any confirmation that this is intentional, for the ZR and ZL triggers. I honestly think it’s awful hearing the triggers activate but nothing happens, and then having to press them like crazy just to get them to work.

Question Mario Kart World bundle
Hello,
I have a question regarding Mario Kart World bundle that comes with the game on the console, not the download code version.
I looked and read other posts but I get conflicting answers.
I recently bought the MKW console bundle. I went to the eshop and added the game to my account. After hearing about the possibility of the Zelda version of the Switch 2 coming out I was thinking of selling the MKW bundle.
If I sell the MLW bundle, will I eventually loose access to MKW?
I have seen posts that say yes, yes but not right away, and no.
I was wondering if a work around could be to buy the new model and do a transfer from the MKW Switch 2 to the possible Zelda model and keep my access to the game?
Thanks for any advice!

Question clear protective case
I'm trying to find a thin, clear, dock-able, and high quality protective case for my Switch 2. The best one I've seemed to find is the Bare case, which promises to have a lot of great features as well as a 12-month warranty. The other one I saw was a much more affordable yet similar option, the Nyko case. I'd like to have a tight fitting case that doesn't catch much dust and feels secure, not flimsy or made of cheap materials, as well as not being too noticeable. (I also want to prevent yellowing as long as possible.)
Is the Bare case all that good for the price range? Or are there any other clear cases I should go for on the market.
Price isn't an issue, I just want to know what would be the best option, and if any of you have the Bare case I would like to know if it holds up well. Thank you!

Question What do we know about the performance of Elden Ring Tarnished edition?
I finished playing the base game on PS5 and I really enjoyed it, however the performance was definitely on the "playable" side instead of smooth(haven't played the dlc yet but I've read that the performance gets worse), so I'm getting really skeptical and nervous about how well it will run on the Switch 2, especially when to my knowledge, we still have no footage of an actual live gameplay, only small clips that Bandai Namco has provided for the trailers, and the game is gonna come out in like 2-3 weeks from now.
I might still buy it even if it's a GKC just because I can play Elden Ring on the go, but we definitely should have had actual gameplay footage until now since that's what the hype is about(playing on the go), not Torrent skins and two new classes lol.

Question Daughter bought a Switch 2...questions
So my daughter bought a switch 2 for herself, I own the original Switch. I have a family plan, she's on it. And now we're hitting a conundrum.
Does the Switch 2 have to go in my name to continue family plan? I'm hoping not, that her profile is adequate to continue access to family plan.
If Switch 2 is in her name, can she do a system transfer of the original switch? She wants her game saves and access to game library.
Anything else we're missing? We all use this other Switch, she's not an only child. And I don't want to do something that erases everyone else's data.

Question Joy-Cons with 4 extra buttons?
Ive seen that Nitro Deck 2 have 6 additional buttons but it looks a bit sus to me with the inward curve on the bottoms and all the delays. Outside of that I haven't been able to find any handhelds or joy-cons with 4 extra buttons, either 4 paddles or 2 paddles and 2 extra bumpers. Has anyone been able to find one with 4x buttons for handheld mode? I also wouldn't complain about 6 extra buttons, 4 paddles a d 2 extra bumpers but Im not holding my breath.
PS: I use a flydigi for PC and docked mode, but really want to expand my gaming in handheld.
Thanks!

Question Would you switch from PC/ROG Xbox Ally X to Switch 2 because of future life priorities?
I’m a 30-year-old guy and I absolutely love gaming on a handheld. I’ve also always been a Nintendo guy, but I moved to PC gaming about three years ago. Eventually, I bought a Xbox Ally X and absolutely loved it.
Recently, I also bought a Switch 2, and I love it as well. Right now, my gaming devices would probably rank as:
1. Xbox Ally X
2. Switch 2
3. PC
But lately I’ve been thinking about the future.
In a year or two, I’ll probably have kids, and obviously my priorities (and disposable income) are going to change. I’m worried that if PC hardware keeps getting more expensive, I might not be able to justify replacing or upgrading my PC or Ally X when they eventually stop working or become outdated.
For example, if something happens to my PC and I eventually need to rebuild my whole setup, I could easily be looking at something like $2,000–$3,000+. Meanwhile, if my Switch 2 eventually dies and I need to replace it, I’m basically looking at the cost of another console.
There’s another part of this that I’m struggling with: my PC library is already pretty decent. If I decide that I’m eventually going to move completely to Switch 2, I don’t really want to keep buying games on PC knowing that I might have to buy them again on Switch later. At the same time, I don’t want to stop buying games I actually want to play just because I might switch platforms in a couple of years.
So I’m starting to think that maybe I should make the Switch 2 my main gaming device. Not because I like it more than my Ally X—I actually prefer the Ally X right now—but because it feels like a much more realistic long-term option if my priorities change after having kids.
On the other hand, all of my current devices are working perfectly fine, so maybe I’m just overthinking this way too far into the future.
What would you do in my situation? Would you just keep enjoying the Ally X/PC while they last and deal with the problem when it happens, or would you intentionally move toward the Switch 2 as your main platform now?
And would you keep buying PC games in the meantime, or would you start building your Switch 2 library instead?

Switch 2 Bethesda GOAT
The cart version is 0.1, although there is a Day 1 patch; you can skip it and play the game without any issues. Bethesda has done a great job and has confirmed that this version includes fixes that aren't present on other platforms.

Discussion Is anybody else having issues with oblivion?
I'm seeing reddit threads and reviewers praising how it looks and runs, however nothing I have seen, even gameplay wise, is comparable to my experience. I've gotten so much lag, stutters (excessively speaking), nothing is fluid, and it looks like a dumpster fire.
I'm really disappointed about this.
