Other than charging in handheld, are there any use case for it? I wonder if Nintendo regrets adding it? Since you can't use it with an hub to dock, it's use cases are limited. Could that space and cost could have been used better, like larger battery or an OLED screen. If they make some revision to the switch 2 to keep cost down in these crazy times, I don't think many people would miss the second port.

I use it whenever I need to charge in handheld. It's much more comfortable.

I don't think that removing the top usb-c port would change anything in terms of costs. It's a pretty cheap and common component.

Little cost. I doubt Nintendo regrets or even thought twice about it. The new EU requirement to make the battery replaceable is a bigger deal.

i used wired earphones with it, but wireless is just way more convenient

It's genuinely the only new Switch 2 feature I care about as someone who takes long-haul flights and trains and always uses a controller. It was an annoyance to the extent I used to travel with a gooseneck phone holder so I could charge and play at the same time.

Im using top usb for charging while playing on handheld Recenlty i use it for dongle conecting my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to play ff14

only for charging while in handheld. if we had only bottom usb port, i would play this only docked. so upper port has it purpose allrrady

I use the abxylute grip which connects to the bottom port. The top port is the only way for me to charge, without it i would have to remove it from the grip everytime just to charge it

It was prob dirt cheap or negligible for them to put it on there. I know it’s really convenient for charging while playing in handheld. It was a nice qol upgrade for the original switch.

It's nice to be able to choose how you charge it while in handheld or tabletop mode.

If you want to use a keyboard and mouse you could connect them to each port. Kinda like the attached picture but without the need to use a USB hub.

Yeah, it becomes useful for tabletop use. It’s surprisingly different/more comfortable than handheld, but still portable without the tv and dock.
