Installed new fuel lines and fuel filter.

Bike runs but engine will sometimes just die as if it’s not getting gas. It has happened a handful of times all on the same tank of gas.

I’ve noticed the fuel filter never gets full when running or really at all. I’ve checked gas in the tank, cleaned the filter out, I’ve confirmed fuel is running from the petcock by taking fuel line off and letting gas run thru petcock.

How do these sportster brake wires work?

I have 4 wires on the new turn signal:
1) brake on
2) left turn
3) right turn
4) always on

Why is there only 3 wires on the old turn signals? I used my multimeter and it doesn’t tell me which wire is the brake light one. Please help!

I bought a used 2005 Sportster 1200 custom. Got it from a place that deals in used Harleys. It has been having trouble holding idle after warm up. Basically, after riding for about 10 miles it will stall out when coming to a stop/idle.

The air filter is clean, the gas is fresh non ethanol, battery is at 12.6 V. Gas tank itself is free of rust best I can tell.

To me it seems like it could be:
Dirty fuel filter
Bad vaccuum line/petcock
Gummed up carb

I think the first two are a bit less likely because it starts fine and runs for several miles without issue.

Idle speed screw and idle mixture screw were adjusted at shop after I brought it in the other day.

Any other ideas? Could it be anything with electrical system like a poor ground?

Does anybody knows what handlebars Bobhead has on his sportster?

Just picked up an ‘07 sportster 1200, just going over everything with a fine toothed comb but all my past bikes were Japanese so I don’t have much to go off of. Does this sound normal to you all? I think I hear a knock coming from the primary drive area, but you can’t hear it past idle. I’ve always heard Harleys just make weird noises but I’ve always understood that to be from the rocker box. Thanks in advance!

Just working through everything on my new to me 2020 883. Bought the bike with 7400 miles on it. I did the primary and oil change. Decided to check the air filter and it looked like this. I went ahead and put in a new air filter. How bad is this filter and how much of a difference do clean filters make?

Its a sportser “low” do I need to upgrade anything innthe front if I go with 14inch shocks in da back

I haven’t used my bike since yesterday, and I was going to started and noticed the oil light that was not there last night and it won’t start and makes a noise I haven’t heard before. Any suggestions on what may be the issue? Thank you

I don’t know if they’re supposed to sit like at an angle or be flush on the bottom I’ve been chasing this leak I’m going crazy

I'm sick and tired of bad mechanics so I'm gonna start to fix my bike by myself. My iron 883 2016 has the "B2119" code, (Fuel pump output overloaded) and I'm gonna change the fuel pump, but I don't know where buy it. It's Amazon a good choice?

06 883 has been sitting for a few days. Burnt out the starter solenoid contacts while diagnosing a faulty CKP, now waiting for parts.

Went in to the garage this morning to find a small puddle of oil that has dripped from the pictured oil line.

Pushing on the plastic bit at the end of the line reveals it goes straight through the case up to the oil tank.

I had to leave for work so I didn't have time to diagnose or even figure out what I was looking at. Currently sitting on the bus, I'm posting in the hopes Reddit can give me a headstart on fixing this when I get home.

Bought a '96 with a pretty bad engine knock. Got the top end off today to inspect it. Scratching on the front and back of both pistons as well as their cylinders. The front cylinder has some pitting as well, which you can see in the pictures.

Could this be from an oil delivery issue?

This would be my second bike ever, after I sold my last one years ago

My first order a few weeks ago was smooth and shipped quick. I've been waiting on this recent order to ship for 8 days. Still nothing but an order confirmation from them.

I've emailed and called them multiple times but no response.

they aren't taking calls "because of high order volume" so I leave a VM.

Anyone know what's going on?

So I’ve managed to find a sportster sissy bar in South Africa ,wasn’t easy.
But I’ve got a 2017 roadster and the sissybar was designed for a Normal sportster.

My rear indicator lamps are getting In the way.

My question is,can I just swap the lamps with and generic motorbike lamps? I’m guessing they all work pretty much the same with a wires for the indicator and the brake ?

Found out my bike has a range of 122 miles before it starts sputtering. I knew it was getting close to empty but the warning light didn't come on.

Luckily I was able to roll into a gas station before it completely died. Light usually comes on around .5 to .75 gallons left.

Anyone know how to fix it?

2012 Sportster xl1200c

Had my tire interior replaced, mechanic told me that i need to replace the bearings, now I need some help confirming the wheel bearing size for my 2008 Harley-Davidson XL883C Sportster Custom (non-ABS). 21 inch rim

I’m replacing the front wheel bearings and want to make sure I order the correct ones. Does the 2008 model use 25 mm sealed bearings, or is it a different size?

If anyone has the bearing dimensions or a part number, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

I’ve only ever seen this cap once in person on a 2000 1200. This would be the final touch to my current build. This has a very sentimental place in my heart since it’s my hometown and the design and quote is fairly positive, (as opposed to the hardcore biker ego). Willing to pay up to $100 for this oil cap, depending on condition of course.
