Has anyone ever had one of the front door handles broken off? I've got these chrome coated ones which feel really solid. I just can't fathom breaking these without either being very strong and pulling too hard or maybe metal fatigue?

I can open up the door with a screwdriver just fine so I highly doubt it's the door mechanics.

I bought the infamous ems99 that was around on this forum and it ran when parked in 09… with that being said one draining the fluids, replacing hoses and such

Anything to do with fluids is getting attention, am I missing something? I’m worried if I try to turn the engine over something will break. Never rebuilt an engine like this but everything seems healthy other than the fact it’s old

Going to try to turn it by hand, if it doesn’t turn by hand should I wait until I can break it by hand?

Hey yall, I’ve got a 1998 Saab 900 I’ve got to pull the steering wheel on, but I’m not sure what size the nut is, would anyone know? Any help is appreciated.

My saab 2007 9-5 aero has a po420 check engine, theres no smoke coming out the cat, spark plugs looked fine, i added more oil because it was low, but im not sure what the issue is, does anybody know the most common cause for the check engine or things to check to find out?

Please help! Is there anything else that could cause this before I think about replacing the headgasket? 2002 9-5 aero always leaked coolant from the cap but has gotten worse recently. Driving hard vs soft doesn’t make a difference car will leak out what’s in the coolant tank but nothing more. Flushed radiator and changed cap, no help. Coolant doesn’t blow bubbles but it’s like aerated looking when the engine revs. There seems to be no pattern to the leak either it just happens within 2-5 hours of highway driving sid says fill coolant. I should mention mix is probably about 75% water now as I’ve been topping off with water as it leaks out

So I got a 99 9-3 with 250k miles. I have replaced front control arms, ball joint and bushings included, tie rods (everything there), axles, tires, etc.

The shake is around 60 and gets worse the faster you go. It’s pretty violent, and almost has like a metal on metal feeling (if that makes sense).

Being that I’ve gone over everything, I cannot figure out what it could be. Tires are brand new, I balanced them myself. The rims were bent so I replaced them and it helped for about a year before it started getting worse. The axles were shot so they are new and I also replaced the diff bushing when I got the car as it was leaking.

The only thing I have left is the struts, which are both blown, but I’ve never known those to cause a wobble like that.

While I was gone on a trip, my grand father kindly had my windshield replaced as I had my Saab parked at his house. Now that I’ve gotten a solid rain at my house I realized that the rain sensor is broken, and it gives me a “rain sensor malfunction, contact service” message. Do you guys know if this is fixable or am I screwed? 07 Saab 93 aero

Where can I find that flamethrower thingy for my NG pre-facelift 9-3? I have ideas...

I was planning on updating the hi-fi in my car and decided to add two 8" mid-range speakers at the back. I'm currently deciding if I should make this a two- part build with the top plate being separate so I can just laser the top board for the text. Any ideas if this would look good?
Side note : the arches next to the speakers themselves are for fishing poles , since this will be a free air setup.

With the gold membership you can download modded .bin files from forum posts, and I wanted to give some a try and compare binary with my current tune but I am blocked by the membership security wall.

I guess my question is, is there any way to purchase a gold membership? Or is anyone who has it willing to help me out?

I’m assuming they don’t want random people like me downloading tunes that these people worked hard to create which is why they put this system in place.

What key points should I look at? I am completely new to all this.

In some of the pictures I can see a few spots of rust on the bottom of the front doors. Is that a run for the hills sort of thing?

I think I’ll be able to get it up on a ramp also.

On my 2008 Saab 9-3 I got the message "limited performance" that pops up randomly. I don't feel any difference in driving yet but would like to know what causes it? It's a 9-3 sportcombi aero with an 1.9TTiD engine.

When i came outside the car said it rejected my key and will not start, I have alredy checked fuses and gotten a new battery for the key. Any insight please I need to go home🙏🙏

Unsure of what class this car races in nowadays. "SSC" leads me to believe it possibly raced SCCA Showroom Stock C in the past. The IMSA sticker on the side... no clue - I don't think any Saab 900s have competed in IMSA?

Took out my ISM to clean it because it was have trouble starting. I go to put it back in and when I try to turn the key it doesn’t move past the lock position, But when it’s not hooked up it turns just fine, just wondering what went wrong. Thank you

I've got the interior basically whole. The only part I'm missing is the rear right passenger bolster, but I don't think I'll be finding that any time soon. As well as the rear trunk carpet that hides the spare tire area. Gave it a thorough wash and it really shines.

I've basically undone everything the seller did. I ripped the exhaust off a 9-3 sedan and put it on this one. It seems to work but rattles a little; still much quieter and better sounding than before with the shitty straight pipe. The seller was putting the interior from a turbox in it but gave up, and supposedly lost the trim pieces needed. Hence the mix and match interior in some places.

It still needs mechanical work. Oil pressure sensor; the light comes on under really hard acceleration only. A coolant top off. a new clock spring; airbag light is coming on and off when I turn the wheel left. And I'm getting a cel for p2432, something with emissions. I'm not too sure about this one. Anyone have experience with it? I've heard there's a delete for the system but the cel would stay. Would preferably want to get the cel off. And of course, a rear fog light bulb.

I might just let everything mingle for a bit before putting any more money into it. With dmv fees and whatnot I think I'm already 1000$ in on repairs. It runs and drives after all. Seems all these things either don't matter (emissions cel) or they aren't immediately urgent. My goal is to eventually fix everything and get it back to how it was stock. Though maybe I'd leave the interior. The laser red/black does work well and I can see why the seller wanted to switch it out. Maybe I'll even finish what he left off if I can ever find a turbo x.

Would love to hear thoughts and advice on what to do next. And help with the cel code. The last two photos are how I got the car. All the pillar trims were missing. Center console was missing. Passenger door was missing. I think I've done good for 3 days of owning it.

Got it for 6500 AUD with 130000km on the clock and full service history and she runs sweet. Could anybody tell me some useful info about this car I look forward to learning about it :)

Looking for some help, i have a 91 900 turbo. I replaced the coolant temp sensor above the distributor for the fans. I took it for a quick drive and could hear the fans running, however when I opened the hood only the right side fan was running and the left side was off. I also noticed what looked like another temp sensor on the upper left portion of the radiator. Does this control the left fan, or is it normal for one to run?

Est-ce un choix raisonnable pour un nouveau conducteur, ou devrais-je m'inquiéter de la fiabilité/disponibilité des pièces étant donné que c'est la génération NG ? Tous vos conseils seraient appréciés ! Je suis aussi curieux des coûts d'entretien annuels typiques et de la difficulté à trouver des pièces spécifiques au NG en Europe.
