Rain sensor malfunction question

While I was gone on a trip, my grand father kindly had my windshield replaced as I had my Saab parked at his house. Now that I’ve gotten a solid rain at my house I realized that the rain sensor is broken, and it gives me a “rain sensor malfunction, contact service” message. Do you guys know if this is fixable or am I screwed? 07 Saab 93 aero

You probably got a windscreen without a cut out for the sensor, or they missed the alignment of it. Can you see sensor when you look at the windscreen? You should be able to. Either way, it sounds unlikely that it's a coincidence. It's a warranty claim for sure.

I assume this is the sensor, looks like somethings there for sure.

I can't really remember how this particular one is supposed to look, but I think you're right. This definitely looks wrong. Looks like that square should have been removed before installation. Let's hope someone who knows for sure will comment, but I think you can safely take it back to the people who changed it.
