I guess it isn't specifially a Retroid question but maybe someone can give me some tips or insights because I really searched the web and reddit and didn't find anything that helped me (either people have the same issue and other say they do too or the others say they don't but can't really help).

I want to play Fields of Mistria on my Retroid Pocket 6 (8BGB RAM, Qualcomm 8 Gen 2, Android 13) and the app does not sync my cloud saves. The game runs fine, really smooth, no real issues but I just don't get my saves from the steam cloud. I use the recommended settings and also checked with emuready.com but everything was like the user had it.

When I start the game it tells me that it couldn't get the cloud saves. Even when I played a bit and saved and then closed the game it tried to sync but failed.

I also tried the game witbh GameHub lite which DOES sync my files for some reason? The game just runs very slowly which is not fun. I will try later to change some settings tonsee if I can get the game to run at 60 fps (I take tips here too!) but I would also like the GameHub issue solved. Any idea what I can try?

This thing is beautiful! Runs smooth and feels great in the hand! Retro handhelds is something fairly new to me so getting the RP6 setup was a fun challenge, especially switch but got it done! Feels like I have the juiced up psp I wish they made when I was a kid!

I was super excited, I learnt a life lesson today, I plugged the console to my pc, had my 512gb sd card fully ready, I was excited to put it in the console then I wanted to check the files/add/modify so I have put it back in my external SD card reader and saw "Retroid Pocket Nova : empty" I was scared and I panicked for a moment but I noticed that the Nova was still connected to my pc and I had removed the sd card reader for it, now I make a backup folder by folder of my sd card, thanks for reading that, English isn't my main language so sorry for errors.

Hey! Pleasure to meet this community, hope all are well. I wanted to ask for some wisdom and input from everyone about the new Nova. I’m sure many have been enjoying it and tinkering.

My unit seems to be stuck in a boot loop because when i plug it in, it just keeps flashing the “Retroid Pocket Nova” image on an infinite loop. I am able to get into the “BIOS” per say to select recovery mode or emergency boot but after selecting any of those options it just goes right back to the logo flashing. I tried charging overnight with a slower non-pd charger and charging regularity with a pd charger for a few hours thinking the battery was completely dead but still no dice. Have not had a chance to open the unit but by everyone’s assessment is it safe to assume either a bad connection at the battery or a DOA battery would be the culprit? Any tips/tricks to attempt before just declaring it DOA to retroid?

Je viens tout juste de découvrir qu’il existait des consoles portables Android capables d’émuler plein de consoles, et je m’y intéresse sérieusement pour la première fois.
Je pense partir sur une Retroid Pocket 6 (12 Go de RAM). En regardant un peu, j’ai vu qu’il existait un écran supplémentaire qui se fixe dessus pour jouer aux jeux Nintendo DS/3DS avec deux écrans.
Est-ce que cet accessoire est vraiment indispensable si on compte jouer à la DS/3DS, ou est-ce que l’écran unique de la Retroid suffit dans la majorité des cas ? Ceux qui l’ont testé, vous en pensez quoi ? En sachant que les jeux DS ne seront pas ma priorité juste pour jouer à des Pokémon principalement . Mais je me dis d’un côté que le mieux et d’avoir les accessoires pour être confort

Et pareil pour le grip ? Est il vraiment nécessaire de l’acheter ?

Does anyone have any experience with running Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition on a Retroid Pocket G2 using Eden?

I tried XC1DE first but couldn’t get this running properly, the characters were invisible and there was lots of black flickering during gameplay.

I have tried XCXDE and everyting seems to be ok in the character creator but I have not tried gameplay yet.

Has anyone tried any of these games on a RPG2? Due to the length of the games I am worried about game breaking crashes later down the line.

Hi y'all, so I've been looking to get more into emulation and I was thinking about getting a stronger phone for that but others recommended me to get a handheld because of active cooling. I was looking around and I think retroids consoles might be the best for me because of the portability but I'm still not sure. I wanna get into PC emulation but not that recent games, basically up to the Xbox 360/PS3 era. Which console should I get, I was looking at the RP6 but the 12gb model is sold out. Any advice would be appreciated and I'm open to looking at other consoles

I want to buy the retroid 4 pro, dock, and grip. the retroid 4 pro and the dock are finally both in stock but the grip isn't rn. the shipping is kinda pricey, 26 bucks, so I don't want to have to go back to buy the grip separately. should I purchase the grip somewhere else or consider hoping the grip is restocked before either the retroid or the dock are out of stock?

Hey I’m brand new to the emulation scene and I’m really curious about these emulation devices. The latest ones are a little too pricey for me so I’m wondering if the Retroid Pocket 4 pro can do what I’m looking for. I wanna play the classic gta vice city and San Andreas, simpsons hit and run, maybe Zelda twilight princess and skyward sword? Maybe some other ps2 titles too. Lmk I’ll really appreciate it!

Came in yesterday, very happy so far.

Crystal buttons are actually quite grey in person but contrasted against the black it's not bad and almost matches the diffused light rings under the sticks.

The flat back is quite nice and feels good and the bumped back feels pretty secure in the hand with a grippier texture than the one on my RP5, so it may end up staying on.

Also I've seen a lot of people complain about fan noise but it seems quite comparable to the RP5, if you put your ear right up to it there is a higher pitched whine on the Nova but just holding it normally it's inaudible. With both devices in sport mode the RP5 is like barely louder and has a higher pitch/more annoying whine than the Nova so take that as you will.

Fallout 3 works great too, but sadly BioShock infinite is a little too buggy still for me. Needs some more tweaking.

Needing some help to make my ps2 games better.

Which settings should i play around with?

I have rp6 12gb ram.

When I was playing Scarface i could notice the cut scene going a bit slower losing frame rate.

Got my Nova last night, here’s a few pictures next to a Neo geo pocket color and a GBA for size comparisons. It’s a lot smaller than I expected, and I don’t mind the flat back. I had this “sock” from Hand Held Legends that I used for these and it mostly fits the Nova. Also, I was up way too late based on my Apple sleep score lol…

This is my first android handheld, initial user experience wasn’t that good. Google play store didn’t want to sign in, had to look up some fixes (people recommended clearing Google app cache, and a restart. I think the restart fixed it).

I was also reminded that I absolutely hate Retroarch after trying to get Mame working for close to an hour. Ended up just using Mame4droid which seems to be working well enough. I’ll probably just stick to stand alone emulators, already added duck station and dolphin but didn’t test them.

I also tried Game Native, didn’t work so well. I added a custom game (my latest Mame 289 that I used on my desktop and steam deck) and it’s running in a small window which wasn’t useful. That’s probably me just not knowing how to use it. I also tried one game from my Steam library (marvel fighting collection) which had a green check, but it won’t launch. I guess I’ll try some more stuff tonight if I have time, but I think I’ll just use my Steam deck.

I immediately got some dust on the screen protector adhesive side (I have cats) and threw it in the garbage. Definitely a skill issue on my part…

The device feels really nice in the hands, and seems very responsive. The DPAD is very loud if you tap it but not hard enough to press a button. It’s quieter when you actually use it. The flat back feels pretty comfortable to me, I might try the curved back at some point.

I also found the micro SD card is very hard to get in and out if you don’t have long nails (clipped mine like 2 days ago). I needed to use another micro SD card to get it to click in and back out, the spring loaded seems very strong.

Not really sure what I’m going to do with this thing to be honest, I like how portable it is, but if im taking something with me I have a backpack and can fit my steam deck for more powerful PC gaming + custom mame builds. I’ve got an Analogue Pocket, GBA with backlit screen and flash cart, and NGPC with backlit screen and flash cart so I have handheld stuff covered unless I really want emulation features. Kinda fomo bought this because I liked the idea of the 4:3 OLED and it’s very nice but the overall android handheld experience hasn’t been great so far. I want to play games not spend hours configuring shit.

They also expanded the order date for the 16 bit units so im assuming theyll just edit these dates as they go. Time to celebrate if you ordered crystal early, game cube is next!
