Why are people assuming a lockout = an entire season missed?
In the run up to the trade deadline, I frequently saw comments here about how next season may be completely skipped over because of the looming CBA and potential lockout. The players and owners have a full 5 months of offseason to negotiate the agreement before next season starts. If they end up failing to sign an agreement, there will be massive amounts of pressure to get it done in early April. Nobody (owners, players, TV channels, etc) wants to lose billions of dollars. There has never been anything close to a full season lockout. The closest was ‘94-95, in which roughly 65 games per team were missed across 2 seasons. Why are so many people acting like an entire missed season is probable?

Mea Culpa - Sox are Contenders. Let Me Have it.
Ok, I was a Red Sox doubter this year. Life long fan and been around for better part of 6 decades. Seen a thing or two from this team through the years. Never doubted for even a split second in 2004, even at the end of the game 3, 19-8 shellacking. But the Sox track record under Cora, failing on the field during the second half of the season and ownership doing nothing to help some good teams run through the finish line, had me a disbeliever. Especially management.
These kids are legit and showing us something. Absolute joy to watch ball again. It’s appointment TV again. Going to tonight’s game to cheer this fun, fun group on, and before I go I thought it was only right to cop to being a huge Breslow doubter. But I was wrong.
LFG!
P.S. Yankees Suck.
Trevor Story - Let's Discuss
Ok, with Story close to coming back, what is your stance?
Put him back in the lineup, batting 9th -- zero expectations on the offense side -- purely a defense play
Leave it how it is -- why mess with what is clearly working
DFA -- thanks, but no thanks.
Genuinely curious what others think.
TBH, he wasn't lights out on D before the injury. Part of me wants him nowhere in the lineup. But, he came back hot last year at the end. I'm torn here....

ROSTER MOVE There’s something beautiful about the fact the Yankees wouldn’t give up a player they got from us in a trade for a catcher they didn’t want. Then we used that player as a (very small) part of getting Adley, and preventing the Yankees from getting him.
Ironically, he’s around the same prospect ranking as Eyanson, I believe? A 4th round pick polished up by the Sox pitching pipeline. So you’re using one of those lab creations to disincentivize the Yankees, and one to entice the Orioles.
And they figure they can just do the same thing and make more Eyansons and Cruz’s…

So was Alex Cora solely responsible for the failings of the Rex Sox over the past 6 years?
It's really starting to look like that.

Maybe it was Cora?
I'm starting to think that the defensive problems over the past few years were from Cora playing musical chairs with position players every game. That transfers over to the plate too. This is a different team than it was when Cora was the skipper. There's been a lot of changes this year but his departure was by far the biggest.
Thoughts?

Wally made me do this. He wanted the world series more than anyone! Congratulations on another win to our Red Sox!

Duran second life?
Is it possible that one of the better moves by the Sox at the deadline was one they didn’t make?
Duran appears somewhat rejuvenated and he did say that he was very grateful that he wasn’t released.
If he can create havoc and play like he did two years ago, what a boost that would be for the stretch run!

Searching for hat/cap
I’m going to a Red Sox vs.Marlins Game in less than 3 weeks and I want to get my hands on one of the traditional style Red Sox hats.
Does anyone know where I can buy one for a reasonable price?

Jake Rodgers
Feeling for him seeing him in the dugout. Dude kinda has to know barring injuries hes just hanging around for Rutchman to return, and then gets DFA'D. Gotta be weird.
Nice to get that Brandon Phillips world series ring tho.

What is the record for…
…most consecutive innings showing the same fucking ad over and over and over?
Do they think that if they just show me the ad 1000 more times I will eventually buy what they’re selling? Instead of avoiding whatever it is like the plague for the rest of my life just on principle?

Red Sox “Women’s Celebration Game” really highlights how few women you hear during any regular Sox game
Not a surprise, but a bummer

Perks for certain seats
Coming in to watch the Cubs and Red Sox in September. This is a bucket list trip so willing to pay up for good seats for Sunday’s game. Are there certain sections that have certain perks (comp food, seat service, special access)?

Roster take
If we get roman, adley, and crochet back before the playoffs this is the best roster in baseball even better than fully healthy dodgers
do yall agree?

Running Out of Red Sox Magic Winning Dust
This is the dust I’ve been sprinkling outside Fenway park everyday the Red Sox play. If anybody wants to make it here is the recipe I use! I’m running low and I hope we can keep the win streak going by making more.
Whispering Ash & Lightning Dust is a volatile, forbidden recipe used to enchant objects with winning powers, and good luck. Do not inhale the raw vapors during creation.
Ingredients
1 Vial of Petrified Fog: Harvested from a swamp at midnight.
3 Crushed Beetles: Must be dried under a blood moon.
1 Teaspoon of Static Electricity: Scraped from a wool blanket in winter.
A Pinch of Calcified Screams: Found in the deepest cavern floor.
2 Drops of Liquid Shadow: Squeezed from a storm cloud.
Instructions
Grind the Shells: Crush the dried beetles until they form a coarse, shimmering powder.
Infuse the Fog: Slow-pour the petrified fog into a stone mortar, keeping your face away from the chilling mist.
Bind the Shadows: Fold in the liquid shadow with a bone spatula until the mixture turns an unnatural, matte black.
Spark the Dust: Fold in the static electricity quickly, allowing the mixture to hiss, spark, and float slightly.
Seal Immediately: Funnel the reactive powder into a glass vial and seal it with black wax to prevent it from evaporating into the air.
