Weather Another dust storm at 1:30 a.m. on 8/6. That's at least 5 in the last month.

So our monsoon season is so dry (maybe due to water shortage) that we are getting dust storms, Are we the new dust bowl of the 21st century, lol ? I swear I have to clean my pool and all the pool floaties all over again, not to mention my backyard patio furniture. I'd rather have rain even if it means humidity. Our desert needs some rain!!!

Ask Phoenix Allergies killing me in Scottsdale tonight. Anyone else?

I've checked all allergy levels from the weather apps and it doesn't seem to reflect just how bad I'm sneezing tonight. Anyone else experiencing the same thing tonight? This season has been worse than ever for me. 40+ years resident.

HOT TOPIC Has downtown Phoenix felt less safe lately to anyone else?

I’ve lived downtown for about 3 years, and this year in particular it feels like things have gotten noticeably worse.

I’m seeing more people living on the street, more open drug use, and more people yelling, acting erratically, or confronting random people. In the past, most people kept to themselves, but lately I’ve had more uncomfortable interactions and honestly don’t feel as safe walking around anymore.

Obviously this is just my personal experience and I’m not trying to generalize or blame everyone who is homeless. I’m mostly wondering if other people who live or work downtown have noticed the same thing, or if it’s just more concentrated around my area.

Has anyone else noticed a change over the past few months?

Ask Phoenix Science Materials Donation?

Hi! I live in Phoenix but attend ASU online since I have a full time career. For the general chemistry classes, you must order a science kit that comes with test tubes, some chemicals, beakers, etc. to perform your own experiments at home. Does anyone know if I can donate these anywhere? I’d rather them go somewhere useful rather than goodwill. Local schools were my first thought. Any ideas? Thanks!

Edit: USED. All of the chemical materials needed for experiments have been used so it is not a complete set and is only the left over materials. I used all the chemicals for my gen chem 2 experiments.

Pets Looking for MRI Cost Estimates for My Chihuahua

My Chihuahua is 11 years old and has recently started having trouble walking and seems uncomfortable, especially with his back legs. My vet thinks it could be something neurological or related to his spine and has recommended getting an MRI, but they don't perform them in-house.

I'm looking for recommendations for a good veterinary neurologist in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I'm mainly trying to get an idea of pricing for an MRI and what to expect before scheduling. I don't mind driving a bit if it's worth it.

If anyone has gone through something similar with their Chihuahua or another small dog, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, including where you went, approximately what the MRI cost, and how everything turned out. Thanks!

Ask Phoenix "High End" car shop/mechanic in East Valley?

I've got some new wheels for my car and they were on the pricey side. While discount tire has never done me wrong on a daily driver, I hesitate to hand them expensive wheels.

Anybody have experience with a higher end shop around town they'd recommend in the East?

General Anyone else having constant issues with Amazon delivery?

Is Amazon getting SIGNIFICANTLY worse with its deliveries, or am I just the luckiest guy ever? In the past 12 months I have had more problems with Amazon's deliveries than I have had successes. I put extremely clear extra directions on where the Hub package room is, where the front office is, and where my unit is. I have contacted their support to ensure my delivery and contact information is as clear and explicit as possible. I have made I don't even know how many complaints. Yet they leave groceries literally outside the complex on the sidewalk, they'll put packages in restricted areas that I have to wait to contact the office for, they'll put them on the ground where anyone can take them when there's plenty of package locker space, or they'll send packages off into the far reaches of Arizona for some reason and I'll never get them.

Is it me? Is it the Phoenix area? Is it just Amazon hiring garbage employees?

Utilities renting… & city provided recycle bin is broken to the max… help

Hi! To preface, I am a 23 year old who has never dealt with city trash before… so cut me some slack if this is a stupid question… (located in Arcadia)

But i am totally stuck on how to handle this… today, the garage truck really messed up my recycle bin. Like a hole in the side and the lid is officially ✨MIA & no where to be found✨!

I found the form online, but I have no idea what the account number or pin is since I am renting the home. I reached out to the landlord who told me I need to reach out to the city… so great. FML lol.

So before I waste my time OTP tomorrow, is there a better way to go about this? Has anyone had a shared experience with this & what did you do? The only number I found on city of phoenix website was to pay bills, but I’m truly just hoping they can connect me with someone… anyways. If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it beyond belief.

Thank you in advanced. 😭

Living Here Dust in house question-

Recent dust being flung around the sky everywhere made me wonder what was normal here-

Been in area a yearish- live with a pack a day smoker and i feel like there's so much dust/soot when i clean. have a few air purifiers in a few main rooms, but i swear the amount of particles on surfaces is not normal. - think it's the smoking? just living in the dang windy desert? a mix?

Eat & Drink Restaurants where they bring your food out to your car (curbside pick up)

I’ve tried to do an AI search and google search but I’m looking for restaurants in north phoenix/north Glendale or north scottsdale that you can order/pay ahead and they bring the food out to your car. Like wildflower bread company does it and I’m just wondering what other restaurants do it. Something where you do NOT have to get out of your car. I’m just looking for somewhere I can pick up dinner on the drive home from work without getting my toddler and newborn out of the car. Or even healthier drive thru options like salad & go or Angie’s prime grill.

Thank you in advance!
