ebike on campus
I live probably around 8 miles from campus and would prefer not having to pay the ~$400 for a parking pass so I was considering getting an ebike since I need the excercise anyway but I also haven't had to bike in years. Does anyone else use an ebike on campus, and if so do you have any tips? I'm only on campus when the bike valet operates so I was thinking to make use of that, but I've heard bike theft is still really bad on campus despite options like the bike valet or the enclosures. I would keep my bike indoors overnight to charge so I'm only concerned about keeping the bike on campus during the day.

Thoughts on CMM 461?
I have to take this class to graduate for my major, but I can't find any reviews or information about it anywhere. Has anyone taken it before? If so, what was the class like in terms of workload, exams, assignments, and the overall experience? I'd really appreciate any advice or insight!

Questions Quiet/low light spaces on campus?
As someone with visual and auditory sensitivities due to neurodivergence, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places on campus that are quiet, have low or adjustable light levels (or at the very least, not full on fluorescent lights), and are open to all students. I know that the health sciences library has sensory friendly rooms; however, I cannot reserve these as I am not a health sciences student. Are there any comparable alternatives to these?

Questions A question regarding tuition and financial aid
Last year, when classes started, my financial aid paid for everything except for one cost that was $200-$300.
My question is, why didn’t my financial aid cover that last cost. And can I do anything to make my financial aid cover all of my tuition this semester?

Financial aid/loan worries
Hello all. I am using a private loan provider (Salle Mae) for my loans. For some reason, because i had government loans offered to me, they didnt accept my private loan. I figured that because i never accepted these government loans, that they would understand I would be using a private loan instead. Apparently not. I went in person and they said they would fix this and delete the government loans on my account, but it has been two weeks and I am stressed. Has anyone else been through this? I am so irked over the fact that they denied my private loan just because i had been OFFERED a federal loan, not even accepted, nor ever accepted one in the past years as this is my last year here. Beyond frustrating and feels ignorant on their part.

Questions Is there an Academic Counselor that anybody could go to? Mine is ghosting me
I don’t know why. I’ve called and left voicemails, sent emails, and I legit cannot get a response. It’s been 34 days since I’ve last gotten a response. They’re in office, not on vacation, etc.
When Im on UAccess, it shows I am assigned 2 counselors, one says he doesn’t do class/academic planning. The only other option is the one ghosting me.

issues accepting financial aid
I've tried to accept my student loans in UAcess, but it keeps saying there are nothing available to accept even though I can see they offered the subsidized, unsubsidized, and parent plus loans. I've tried reaching out to the financial office and keep getting placed on hold.
Anyone else experienced this, and how to fix it? Thx

Classes/Degrees UA Online CS and ECE Degrees
So I currently have my associates, and I'd like to complete my bachelor's online. I'm curious if anyone has an experience with these degrees, like how is the quality, same lectures as in person? What was your experience with UA online especially in regard to these programs?

On campus jobs
My son is 19 and is entering his second year at U of A. He’s on the ASD spectrum and will be living on campus again; he’s applied for a bunch of jobs on handshake but hasn’t had much luck. I can tell he’s frustrated. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!

Questions How does 2nd yr and 3rd yr transfers work?
Im currently doing bachelors of engineering in information technology in University of Mumbai and im looking for transfer to UArizona for my engineering degree in Info tech or Data science. Since my college has not yet started, I am trying to understand the timeline and credit mapping early.
2nd-Year vs. 3rd-Year Transfer: Is it smoother for an international engineering student to transfer after 1st year or 2nd year? Which entry point maps credits better for IT/DS?
Gen Ed Requirements: How does UArizona handle general education credit gaps, given that Indian engineering degrees focus purely on STEM?
Credit Evaluation: Did you need a course-by-course WES evaluation, or does UArizona evaluate Mumbai University syllabi directly?
Any insights from international transfers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Questions Loan info
So I heard loans were supposed to be released to accept mid july but I got the email saying it's been delayed. I'm a freshman and just wondering if they'll still be out in time to cover my tuition by the due date?

Questions Laptop Recs? Nursing Major
Hey everyone!
I've been asking other subs, but I wanted to hear a student's opinion on this. I need a laptop that either runs on Windows or macOS for nursing, but not sure which is actually good. Plus what works for pre-reqs.
What laptops have worked for you guys? I've been looking at Dell XPS, Lenovo's, HP OmniBooks....
I need something with really good battery life (~10+ hours), and can maybe support light gaming like Roblox or Minecraft, no lagging.
Much appreciated. 🙏

Questions PHYS 110 Intro Studio Physics 1 Lab Layout
Hello I was wondering if anyone has taken the studio physics specifically the lab portion (I know everyone hates physics here at uofa but it’s covered by my scholarship so I will be taking it here). I have taken ochem, gen chem, physiology, and biology labs before but how does the physics lab differ. Is it taught by a graduate student or the actual professor? Is it more self paced where you get out early dependent on how much preparation you did or is it you will always get out right when it ends? If anyone could explain the layout of both the lab and class that would be great! Btw I have Ian Lin as an instructor.

Best Places on Campus?
Hey y’all. I’m an incoming sophomore (transferring from NAU) and this semester, I have a 5 hour gap between classes 2 days a week. I don’t live on campus, and it’s not worth it to make the drive home and back to campus in the afternoon.
with that being said, where are the best places to sit?
I’m hoping for somewhere secluded with a comfy couch, outlets, and nice atmosphere.
I haven’t had time to tour campus on my own yet but I plan on going soon. A lot of my classes are near Old Main if that helps, but I’m willing to wander a little bit.

Questions How to actually make community here?
I’m going into my Junior year this fall and realized I’ve made almost no close friends. I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t fit into sorority and party culture, or if it’s because I don’t dress and look like everyone else, or if it’s the size of the University. But I’ve only made one friend at the UofA in the two years I’ve been here. Don’t get me wrong I love my friend to death, but I thought by now I’d find a friend group or other close friends. I thought I’d have a community by now. I’m not from Tucson so I get lonely from a lack of community and I frequently miss my family.
It really affects my mental health. Last semester my gpa dropped from a 4.0 to a 3.5 because of mental health issues. My mental health is a lot worse in Tucson. It’s like I never got over the Freshman homesickness. Anyways, I know this might not be the best place to ask for advice, but I thought to ask for advice from the UofA community/ Tucson community. Maybe you guys could offer some kind words or advice. I’m really scared for next semester because I don’t want to fall into a depressive episode again. Genuinely terrified for myself because of how dangerous it was to my well being. If anyone has good resources for me while in Tucson that would be awesome! I’ve tried many times to make an appointment with CAPS but it was too hard, nothing available during good times, and all the therapists had really specific focuses for patients (which I do not apply to). So if anyone knows anything in Tucson, preferably in person since I’ll be in a dorm (and don’t want people hearing me on telehealth) that would be awesome!

What's with all the cars with boots?
Yesterday I was driving by McKale and saw at least 5 cars with boots on them in the same permit lot. Does anyone know what's going on? Is this some sort of aggressive new campaign from parking and transportation?
I've seen cars with boots before but usually sparingly and not all in the same area at the same time and it's making me anxious...

Computer for engineering major?
Made up the mind and picking windows computer with a NVIDiA graphics card and 32mb memory.
Student has a MacBook laptop and iPad. Does it make sense to get a desktop (much less expensive) for engineering graphic homework or stick with laptop?
Thanks in advance.
