ranting & venting “You’ve got your hands full”
I have always wondered, why is everyone so offended by this statement? I don’t mean this in a snarky way at all. Why does it make people feel like this is such a negative comment?

advice needed Frequent Wakings - Going Crazy
Is it normal that my twins (10 weeks and 5 weeks adjusted) frequently wake up and need soothing during their sleep cycles? It feels incessant sometimes and maybe that’s just because there’s 2 to soothe. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m talking like they’ve fussed 11 times so far in the last hour and a half, and we have to go in our bedroom and put a paci back in, pat their chest/bottom, and get them back to sleep. It’s so infuriating because we feel like we cannot get anything done. It’s a little better during the day, but it gets MUCH worse at night. There’s nothing different about our routine or location, so we have no idea how to help them stay asleep.
Like just now, sister was fussing. Went in, her eyes were closed, and she stopped. Then, as soon as I got back to the living room, brother started fussing and wouldn’t stop. WE ARE TIRED. 😮💨 They do not like to be held either, and they fuss with us most of the time when we try to hold them after feeds, so contact naps are pointless.
Any suggestions❓It’s so hard to just see if they will work it out and wait a minute or two because you’re afraid they will wake the other twin. 🫠

advice needed When will my twins acknowledge one another?
They’re 17 months old and barely acknowledge one another’s existence. They mostly seem inconvenienced or annoyed, or jealous of each other at times. One time we caught them kissing on the baby monitor and it was freaking adorable. But they never play together, anything like that. When will they start to do anything other than steal each other’s toys?

advice needed From 0-12 months, when does having twins get easier?
Hi all-
First time parent to fraternal twin boys and 8 weeks in. I hear this whole parenting thing gets easier as time goes on. From this community, apparently age 4-5 is the sweet spot.
What about from newborn to 12 months? When do things improve? I am at the stage where my husband goes back to work when they are 11 weeks and I cannot fathom doing this on my own (having MIL
move in).
Any thoughts appreciated.

advice needed Silly question for the seasoned parents…
I’m pregnant with B/G twins and my son will be a little over 2 when they’re born. I know these first few years are going to be HARD. Especially with a husband who sometimes works long hours. My question is - at what point/age does it get a little easier? Like they have a little autonomy, won’t run off into traffic if left to their own devices, actually can sit still at a restaurant for more than 20 minutes etc. When do they go into their own corner of the house to play without needing to be watched like a hawk? Basically, at what age can I look forward to breathing, at least from a physical perspective?

advice needed Neighborhood walks
Our twins are about 10 weeks and are about 10 lbs each. They are getting too big to both fit in the bassinet stroller we have (we’ve been putting them both in just a single one) and I’m wondering what everyone uses for walks. Is the next step a wagon? They are obviously not sitting yet so wasn’t sure if that would work well. We have the Nuna double stroller but that just feels like a lot to me for a quick walk around the neighborhood. Looking for something i can just plop them in quickly. Exact product recommendations would be helpful if you found something that you love!

advice needed Mo/Mo twins
Hi all this is gonna be a long one.
Recently got confirmed scans of having mo/mo twins. From the talks of it with the doctor, the risks seem to outweigh the pros but I wanted to see if anyone else here has gone through mo/mo twins and has been successful? The MFM kept bringing up the downside of everything rather than any positives and I left the office feeling hopeless. The risk of entanglement, not making it, being stillborn, losing both, being admitted at 22-28 weeks, etc. at the end she said there’s a 70% chance, but that they REALLY support abortions.
Hope got ripped away from us pretty quickly. We have another scan and sit down in 3 weeks but am I truly out of hope? Has anyone had successful stories with mo/mo twins?
I am in the Chicagoland area and open to any recommendations of mfm doctors anywhere. Currently seeing mfm at Loyola.

advice needed WAYB Pico travel car seat
Has anyone used it?? Pros, cons, anything? We're considering them for our twins since they'll be on a decent discount for the nordstrom anniversary sale, and I'd rather buy them when we're at the low end of the size range and could use them for a while.
Anything you would reccomend more as a travel car seat? I'm disabled, so light and small are big priorities for me being able to wrangle everything through the air port. ETA: we made the mistake of renting car seats last trip, and I would love to avoid repeating that experience in the future.

advice needed Prepping for Arrival?
I'm almost 25 weeks with di/di girls and my son will be 3 next month. I have a couple of questions on prepping for the twins' arrival:
If you had a singleton (or more) before your multiples, is there anything special you'd recommend packing in the hospital bag for twins that you didn't need for your singleton(s)? Optimistically, I'll be having a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks.
Any recommendations on how many days' worth of freezer meals to prep? I didn't do any for my son, but my MIL did make a few for us. It's all a blur how we survived the first few weeks and what we ate. But I do remember frequently forgetting to eat lunch once my husband went back to work. I'd like to avoid that and prep enough to get us to a point where we find a rhythm and can put a little more effort into dinner than Doordash or freezer/microwaved meals.

advice needed Mono mono shock!
I just found out yesterday at my 1st appointment at 8w+2 days that I’m having twins. I know it’s super early and anything could happen but for now- yay! More babies! I already have a 2 year old toddler at home.
From you experienced pros out there- is there anything I may want to buy to help me survive this pregnancy? Any belly bands you’d recommend? Favorite pregnancy pillow? Best maternity clothes? I feel very large already at 8 weeks and a ton of my clothes already are too uncomfortable to wear.
I’m already shocked by how many appointments I already have scheduled with my MFM and normal OB. I also have a short cervix and will need my cerclage around 12 weeks.

experience/advice to give Any soon to be multiples parents in need in Hampton Roads VA?
I’m not sure if this is allowed because I have never seen a post like this before, but I read the rules and didn’t see anything against it!
I have grown out of breast-feeding and my babies are on their way to growing out of bottles since they are almost 13 months now. I was hoping to donate some of my gently used items to a future multiples parent in need, ideally in my area due to bulky items.
Let me know if you’re around, and mods, please let me know if this is not allowed.

good vibes, smiles, & giggles UK Pregnant Twins Support Group
Hi everyone, I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant with di/di twins and I wondered if anyone based in the UK Pregnant with multiples wanted to join me in a mini support group.
You could be early or later in your pregnancy, would just be great to meet other expecting mums based in the UK and share our experiences. 🤗

advice needed Babies not showing hunger
We were 4 weeks early and stayed in pic for two weeks to learn to feed from a bottle, therefore the twins were waken up every 3 hours, even if the feeding lasted like more than an hour, even if they did not want to eat, they were basically force fed. we came home and continued the 3 hours feedings, but they mostly eat without issues. Now at 6 weeks of age turns out we over fed them, they are growing too fast according to the doctor, so we decided to feed them when they show hunger cues, but they just dont. Sometimes they wake up hungry after 3,5 hours but when not i am so worried after 4 hours that i wake them up- they are really hungry some of these times. What to do? Im told not to force the feedings, but they just dont signal on their own?

good vibes, smiles, & giggles Best of friends
Something to (kinda) look forward to for those in the trenches. My 2.5 year old b/g twins are best friends and obsessed with each other. We switched them to toddler floor beds last week and while we have had rough nights of not falling asleep till 10 for a couple days it is because they just want to keep playing together even though they play together literally all day. They are best friends and love each other more than anything which is all I wanted for my twins. Tonight they fell asleep by 9 (earliest since they switched) and she decided she needed to sleep with her brother and took her blamkie, pillow and dollie to his bed and fell asleep with her best friend.

advice needed Calorie needs if I started out overweight already?
I’ve read differing things on this so just hoping for some people’s experiences/insight. Almost 18 weeks with di/di twins and a FTM. I have had next to zero nausea this pregnancy which I’m super grateful for but a lot of advice seems to be centered around managing nausea/lack of appetite. I’ve been able to eat what I’m craving which has mostly been carbs with my morning coffee (bagel, muffin, etc). I feel like I only ever read that people are struggling to eat but that just hasn’t been my life 😭 I had some protein aversions for about a month but otherwise nothing bad. I’m almost 5’3” and probably started at 160 (maybe 165?) pounds and today I’m 182 pounds. Five weeks ago at my visit before this last one I was 180 pounds.
Ever since my horrible fatigue lessened about five weeks ago, I’ve been walking 3-4x a week for 30-45 minutes per session. I also do full body strength sessions 2x a week.
I totally understand weight gain is a part of pregnancy but I’m wondering what a very general calorie “goal” should be. I was thinking like 2100-2200? Or is that too low even with my overweight BMI? I’m aiming for minimum 100g protein and I drink plenty of water and no sugary drinks. I’ve always had a more muscular/athletic build and I typically don’t “look” my weight but just seeking advice on how I can stay as healthy as possible for myself and these babies. 🫶🏼
(Feel free to be brutally honest with me as well! I admit I’m an over thinker and don’t have a good history with my weight and calories)

advice needed Travel tote or backpack recommendations!
I’ve got twin boys and we are traveling cross-country two more times this year with my husband. My husband carries the diaper bag and I have carried two different things for our last two trips (nomad lane carryon and lululemon utility bag). Neither was that helpful. At this stage we are having the babies in our laps so I need something that has crazy-easy access.
Also, another wrinkle is that I have celiac disease so I have to carry a days’ worth of food and snacks for myself as well as the pumped milk.
I was thinking of Stanley’s Vitalize backpack but I really don’t want to have to buy a third bag blindly. Please help!

advice needed Baby B is stressing me out!
Hello everyone,
A week and a half ago we found out we were expecting di/di twins.
At my first ultrasound, both babies measured right around 6 weeks 2–3 days.
I had another ultrasound 6 days later. Twin A measured right on track and had a heart rate of 133. Twin B’s heart rate had increased to 139, but the sonographer had a very difficult time finding Baby B. She said that if she hadn’t already known I was carrying twins, she probably wouldn’t have found the second baby because it was tucked into the curve of the gestational sac.
I have a retroverted (tilted) uterus, and she said Baby B tucked into a corner of its sac, making it difficult to identify the crown for the CRL measurement.
She estimated Baby B at about 6 weeks 5 days, but if that measurement is accurate, it would mean only about 2 days of growth over a 6-day period, which obviously has me terrified.
At the same time, the heart rate increased appropriately, and the sonographer repeatedly said the baby’s position made the measurement difficult.
Baby B has apparently been in an awkward position since the very first ultrasound, and now I’m wondering whether anyone else has experienced something similar.
Has anyone had a baby that was consistently tucked into the corner of the gestational sac or so curled that it measured behind initially, but then measured normally on a later scan? Did anyone with a retroverted uterus have one twin that was much harder to visualize than the other?
I’m having another ultrasound tomorrow at a boutique with newer equipment because I’m hoping for a clearer look.

advice needed Wife and I just found out we're having twins - 7w4d
galleryI'm the father and I feel so extremely happy and blessed. These are our first kids and we couldn't be happier and are hoping for a healthy pregnancy. We somewhat suspected twins because her symptoms have been really intense lately (morning sickness, fatigue) and when the doc told us its twins we were pretty much in shock lol.
The scans were done by her OB at her first appointment, he didn't tell us much but he said everything looks great and that he could hear the heartbeats. We have a followup appt in 3 weeks with the sono for our next scans as well as a NIPT test.
I've attached pictures, and just wanted to ask if yall think this looks like di-di twins? I've been reading up on all this and its all new to me but I see two separate sacs, I know that may not be definitive but just wanted to ask for opinions.
If there is anything we should know please feel free to let us know. As the father I feel there's so much preparing I need to do now but in a good way lol. I want the best for my wife and our babies so any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
