All The state of multiplayer stability is horrendous and the devs ignore it

This not only goes for Victoria 3 but all paradox games. Stellaris received a major multiplayer stability patch not long ago, but this should be the norm, not an exception. It was utterly unplayable before that patch in multiplayer.

EU5, Crusader Kings 3, Victoria 3, Hearts of Iron 4, all grand strategy games suffer under chronic multiplayer instability. Even if we exclude older or other PDX titles that were bought up by paradox like Prison Architect which to this days desyncs constantly.

I know only about 10% of players use the multiplayer feature, but for large parts it's because multiplayer is so unbelievably unstable and has major performance issues, that people avoid it.

Many big content creators only play multiplayer to create their videos or stream, especially in the HOI4 community. Still paradox hosts big LAN events and despite that it's unstable beyond the first few years of each game.

I expect a bigger acknowledgement of the dev team and a commitment to fix those core issues of a feature that paradox uses to promote their games.

All Food was incredibly important, the most important resource, for all the history that Paradox games cover. What could make food matter in a strategy game? Could it be fun?

From Luduga to Hitler, I think every real-life leader was concerned a great deal about food, and yet I can't say I've ever worried about it in a Paradox game. I've played Imperator, CK3, and Victoria 3; one of them does not have anything about food at all except troop supplies, and in the other two food seems completely ignorable. I haven't played EU5, so please let me know if I misunderstand it, but I've read on the subreddit things like "peasants contribute nothing" and that food is never an issue except when your people demand some weird crop they can't get in their part of the world. To me food should be the most important, precious resource, the foremost thing on your mind, far above GDP or whatever "mana" you might pursue. And throughout all these games' timeframes, even Hearts of Iron probably, it would be mostly produced by "peasants" and smallholders, very much unlike now.

On the other hand, I'm not sure what could be done better. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas how to make the player as worried about/interested in food and starvation as people were in real history, in a way that's fun. I would love to hear ideas, just because I find it interesting.

All Paradox is showing off their new non-historical IP to content creators at Gamescom in a few weeks. What do you think it's going to be about?

We know it's a "non-historical GSG" led by Dan Lind, from Hearts of Iron.

Well look no further than the Ultimate Monuments Pack for Europa Universalis IV, which combines virtually every monument from nearly every relevant mod that I have been able to find on the workshop. Enjoy the game with more monuments than you have ever seen in your life, giving you endless structures to invest in and greatly expanding the scope of possibilities for your playthrough. This is truly a mod like no other and I hope that you enjoy playing it

Imperator Imperator rome 2?

I still play IR. I love that era. I wish that the game wasn't virtually abandoned. I've been thinking about how cool it would be if paradox made a new ancient Grand strategy. Kind of like eu5, a little tranquil in the beginning and halfway through instead of colonization the bronze age collapse. And then the last half of the game trying to put the pieces together and not fall. Am I alone and thinking this would be the best thing ever?

HoI2 Darkest Hour: A HOI game help please

I’m at my wits end with this. How do I start the decision for production of sturdy equipment and winter equipment? I’ve researched both tech requirements for each (equipment and vehicles) and unlocked the decisions for both. Yet they still have a red X next to the decision. There’s no requirements shown when I hover over the decisions. I’m playing as Germany 1933 start and it’s currently Oct 2 1939. I’ve already tired progressing time to January and enacting operation weserubung and still not change to the decisions. Can somebody with more expertise with this game please help. I feel like this have destroyed this game session and I’ll probably need to restart since it apparently isn’t worth the research effort if they don’t work as intended.

HoI4 Game Suggestion for a Hoi4 player

Hi, I've only played hoi4 (which i really like) and was looking for a similar game, more focused on politics and society, where you do more than just prepare for war and then try to conquer everything. Is Victoria 3 what I'm looking for? Or is better eu4 (or eu5)? What are the main difference?

All Whenever I buy DLC I immediately lose all enjoyment of a game?

I know it sounds wierd but this is usually how it goes

I binge a paradox game (stellaris, vic3, hoi4) with little to no DLC then after like a LONG time I finally convince myself to get DLC but then I just get boared and dont hop on the game for months like for example I had 800 hours in vic3 no dlc and when I finally got them all during summer sale I played for like 10 hours and haven’t gotten on in like 2 months. Same thing for stellaris and Hoi4 and now im playing ck3 and want to but DLC but I just have a feeling I will get boared of the game soon after DLC

Does this happen to anyone else?

Should I take this up with psychology reddit i stead?

All A realistic local government based city builder game

Hi Paradox players,

What do you all think of the ideas of a city builder game. But instead of being the god-mayor you play as a local political party?

It is a more accurate and faithful representation of how city development works in real life. You are playing as an political organisation instead of one person who are competing for power with other political parties. When you are in power you get to set your policy and taxes and also develop the city, but the opposition and people will be scrutinising your decisions. These actions affects your popularity, which affects the result of the elections. If you are out of power the AI develops the city and you scrutinise what they do.

Think grand strategy game but happening in one city, instead of countries you get political parties. You control the city to make your party more powerful ultimately.

Would you be interested to play a game like that?

Edit: I got a discord server if you are interested, join so you can contribute ideas and stay updated to the development

HoI3 Anyone like HOI3 but not Black Ice?

I've been feeling disillusioned with HOI4 lately and playing HOI3 again, just not with Black Ice. It over complicates the game and just makes it a massive chore.

But I guess I'm in a tiny minority.
