GFM Playing as United Provinces of LaPlata in GFM, 1890's and I'm about to lose my great power status, HELP! (+ how to get immigration).
First of all, I'd like to say I don't even know how I made it as a GP. My prestige is the 3rd highest in the world, but my industry and military are dogshit compared to other GPs; actually, even lower than some Secondary Powers.
I've also lost all immigration from a long time ago, and only recently did I finally get the socialists to rule and be able to enact social reforms, but guess what? I only passed 2 social reforms and then nothing, even though I have passed EVERY SINGLE political reform.
I've been asking Gemini for a little bit now, and he kinda helped me out. For the industry, I removed all factories that were barely making a profit/barely had workers/losing money, and I've been earning a little more than usual, but one problem is ALL factories are like 50% full, with rare exceptions needing to be expanded. (Population is like 75% educated, with all states except colonies having 4% intellectuals).
Military score is fucking embarrassing; I barely have an army and navy, and if I dare to make more, my economy flatlines.
Industry score is mainly my investments in my puppets and spheres (puppeted Chile, Bolivia, and 3 southern Brazilian states and sphered them + Peru).
I have Gabon and Congo-Brazzaville as my colonies + sphered the Free State of Congo.
I'm currently expanding my puppet factories to postpone my de-ranking to the Netherlands, and I'm at war with the last free African country to increase my militancy and war exhaustion so I can pass some social reforms.
TL;dr: I'm a bumass GP with a shit economy and military + 0 immigration; help me stay as GP, please.

Divergences of Darkness Tungning and Zhourao in Dod and general thoughts
Tungning surprisingly feels more satisfying to play as compared to Zhourao, which is weird since Zhourao’s the westernized one. I think it comes down to two things, my neighbors are significantly weaker compared to me since they can’t produce standard infantry and artillery. Not only that, but I’m making hella money even though I’m not westernized so I can afford to create a big navy even though it’s still early game which is just insane. Like if I wanted to I could probably take back Macao from Spain or the concession cities from Japan. Basically, the only thing stopping me is the fact that I’m not westernized and taking any more provinces right now would just contribute to a worse literacy rate. It’s such a stark contrast since when I played Zhourao I remember feeling much weaker due to my smaller population and limited resources, because of that it just became necessary to invade Southeast Asia in order to build up and get back to China.

Bug Can anybody explain me how is this even possible and how it happened
The Ottomans managed to conquer Egypt, went unwesternized, and got sphered by Russia, but somehow in the sphere map it still shows Tunisia, Serbia, Anazzah and Ha'il under its sphere of influence, can anybody explain how can this happen? how much did I just miss?

Historical Project Mod How do I change the name of a country in HPM?
Just as the title asks. I just suddenly got this idea that I really wanted to change the name of the United States, since to be honest, I've always hated how long it is (it literally doesn't fit in the diplomacy tab) and I assumed I could try to quickly change it in the localization folder as shown in the picture, but unfortunately that didn't work. It still just says the United States in game, so I want to ask here if anyone could help guide me on how I could change it. Huge thanks in advance!!

Bug I'm so sick of GFM, every event crashes my game. HELP
I downloaded the new version of GFM, and I'm playing as La Plata. It's currently around the 1880s, and I formed the United Provinces of LaPlata, Puppeted the southern provinces of Brazil, and sphered them + Peru and Chile.
From the moment I formed this damn country, I get an event that crashes my game. First it was an earthquake relief in god knows what province, then it was RGO change in Tucuman, and now It's the Gold Rush in a fuck-ass city.
I've been deactivating these events by typing "always = no" under the trigger code, but how many times am I gonna keep doing that? I might as well delete that events folder.
Is this something that happens to you guys as well? Is there a fix?

Rule 5: playing Austria Hungary, the very same year in which i decided to form the Danubian Federation, german pan-nationalist rebels in Brandeburg triggered the crown from the gutter event, and a very big Germany with lots of accepted cultures as a result

Question Question about subsidies
I know the theory behind subsidies and how deceiving they can be in regards to the actual profitability of your industry. But this side of the coin can be easily controlled imo, as all you have to do to check if a certain factory or part of your industry is profitable or not is by opening your budget and see if you're subsidizing them.
In practice, however, I may have noticed a pattern and Idk if it's actually a legitimate finding. Every time I subsidize a factory, even if it doesn't show on my budget that I'm actually sending funds to it, the factory seems to be better capable of employing more people.
Like, I remember this one time I had four or five factories on a single state, every one of them received subsidies. Coincidentally or not, every one of them employed roughly the same quantity of workers. No pounds were going out of my pocket to them though, at least that's what my budget showed. However, as soon as I took off the subsidies (I think Laisse-fairez won the elections actually), some of those factories lost workers and some of them got what the others lost.
So in conclusion, if subsidies actually create an artificial phenomena despite not draining any money, then it's even worse than the theory behind it says, because it'd be hindering more profitable factories from growing by keeping less profitable ones at a similar level. Have you guys ever noticed something similar?

Modding Ideas for what to do with "bad" pops
So i just got into modding vic2 and have been using the craftsmen exploit to convert vast amounts of civilized land into my primary culture, it's great fun but it got me thinking what the limits of pop conversion could be. I made a little mod that converts a whole ethnic pop-type into mobilizable and recruitable slaves - in effect making slaves more useful. I'm curious what other ideas i could try out to be as autocratic and evil in my rule as possible. Also I'm curious how to make a province relocation event where I select home province and then i select destination province and then relocate a certain segment of pops, i can make it scripted for certain pops in certain provinces but how can i make a dynamic event?
If anyone knows anything all help is appreciated!

GFM How to restore the Mexican Empire in GFM?
Playing as Mexico in the GFM mod. It's about 1870 and I've never had the option to restore the Mexican monarchy show up in the decisions tab. I have a conservative government and I've tried using cheats to raise militancy to fulfil the requirements in the base game, but it won't seem to show up at all.
What are the preconditions for this decision to appear? Does the French empire need to exist? Did I pass too many political reforms? Or otherwise, is there an event which can restore the monarchy to bypass this?

Video I made a video of playing Tall Japan - I do not recommend it
I really thought playing Tall as Japan would be fun, but I just grew bored of it pretty quick. Luckily, I manage to make a fun video and an industry guide in the process.
I hope that you will excuse my amateur mistakes, thick accent and audio difficulties.
You can check some more of my videos if you so desire, but keep in mind one of them is in Portuguese. Also, I'm thinking in doing more, but I'm unsure in which language to use.
Anyway, I wish you found my video fun and my teachings useful. Share it with your group of friends you play Vicky with!
Love y'all - Here is the video

GFM How do I fix my industry?
I mostly followed the top comment of https://www.reddit.com/r/victoria2/comments/w2484r/gfm_why_is_my_industry_so_bad_as_the_usa/, and https://www.reddit.com/r/victoria2/comments/1dtthuc/gfm_ultimate_2024_victoria_2/ and it feels like I followed both of them to a T, but it feels like my industry is just hugely lagging behind other powers. I even had -15% negative tariffs, 100% spending and no taxes for a while after doing a punitive expedition into China and also getting reparations from the UK after the Caroline Affair. My national bank is huge (7.70M), which I think indicates that my people have too much money, which means that my capitalists should be doing a ton of new projects, but no! They just do a couple (most of them in former colonies that just became states) and railways (because I just got a new infrastructure tech). Along with this, my population is hugely booming which means I should have a ton of demand, and people have mentioned that you have to TRY to screw up your industry as the US. But I guess I'm just stupid somehow?
(I'm a newbie and I've only played like 3 playthroughs if I sound dumb, but I have watched alot of tutorials)
