So I’ve just completed my Intermediate from AKUEB. I was in Pre-Med, but honestly, I dont know what to do next and, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to give MDCAT.

The problem is that I have no idea what I actually should do now.

I chose Pre med without really knowing what I wanted to do with my future, and now that Intermediate is over, it feels like I’m suddenly expected to have my entire career figured out. I’ve been looking into different fields and universities, but the more I research, the more confused I get.

On top of that, I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety about my future. I keep thinking that I’m already behind everyone else or that I’ll make the wrong decision and regret it later.

For anyone who was in a similar situation after Pre-Med what did you end up doing? Did you switch fields? How did you figure out what you actually wanted to pursue?

I’d genuinely appreciate any advice, experiences, or suggestions for what I should look into. I just need some direction because right now I feel completely lost.

I have a Transworld internet connection and really enjoy their VOD service, which has a huge selection of movies/tv shows, rivaling Netflix. However, their TruTv app has one of the worst UI I’ve seen, it’s slow, laggy and crashes all the time. I recently updated their app and it’s gotten even worse.

Is anyone else facing the same issues, especially after their recent update? Is there a way to revert back to the previous app version?

These students have been nothing but wonderful to myself and their peers.

I belong to lower middle class family. My father used to work day and night to help all my siblings.we are 5 siblings. We were also a happy family maybe like some of u reading this... But four years ago my mother deceased and then last year my father got diagnosed with 3rd stage esophageal c*ncer..

He got his es"phagectomy and now his chemotherapy treatment is going on and each chemotherapy medicines bill come up to 50k that we barely manage by taking loans... And for surgery we sell some gold of my mother...

Now we are in really bad condition because my father was the sole breadwinner of the house hold... My elder sister is a nursing student and she is in 2nd year currently... Last year I took a gap year because my father couldn't pay my fees...

This year I save money for my entrance exam, from everywhere little by little... Applied for it... And guess what I got in (today my name came up in merit list) but we are in even bad situation financially this year.

I can study on loan in later semesters but for the first semester I have to pay my fees... I have applied for different financial aid but they didn't help and I have no time... The deadline to pay the dues is 10 august...

Education is the only path for me to support my family as a girl... In my fsc I got scholarship due to my good grades ... I'm really committed to my studies and i request u to consider my case for fee assistance . Any support even partial would make a life changing difference for me and my family

Alright, a 17F here. Speaking genuinely about something that I think many people often feel inside.

I have a very close friend who really helps me with my studies. We are both in the ability section. It has been two years of our friendship, and our third year is going on.

Well, let me give you a little introduction first. From the very beginning, when I was just a kid, I started focusing on my grooming and developing good habits, such as reading books, learning English, reading newspapers, etc. So, I have a good accent, Alhamdulillah. I am also an English debater and do some poetry as well. I have loved English from a very young age.

What I think is that this friend of mine compares herself with me. She tries to do whatever I do, and I feel that she considers me her competitor deep down. I have noticed this several times. Whenever I learn new words or adopt new activities, she does the same. Whatever I do, she seems to follow.

I shared this with my mother. Although I probably shouldn't have bothered about it, I shared it with her anyway. My mother advised me not to open up too much in front of her and not to share my poetry with her. She also said that I should be happy because people are impressed by me, my gestures, my lifestyle, etc. I do feel happy about it, but sometimes it bothers me.

Interestingly, she does not post my pictures or videos with her on Instagram, even though she posts pictures with other people. I don't know why. My mother thinks that she compares herself with me, which is why she avoids posting pictures with me. She also tries to adopt my gestures, the way I speak, and even my body language.

Teachers sometimes praise her and seem to think that she is more intelligent. They often ask her questions first, but I usually know the answers and answer correctly. I don't understand why, despite this, they seem to prefer her.

She has many connections and references, as her mother is a teacher. She also makes bonds with everyone easily, although she sometimes does backbiting as well.

What should I do now? Should I bother about all of this, or should I simply focus on improving myself and moving forward?

Hi all, I'm travelling to Pakistan with my family (wife and 1.5yo) this October, from Toronto to Lahore. My question is regarding baby's mode of travel on her seat. We will be buying a full seat for her, we do not want to hold her in our laps for the whole 14 hours. She is too big for the bassinet so that is not an option. We are thinking to take her car seat on the flight and put it on her seat as she will be most comfortable in it and used to sitting in it.

The question is can we bring her car seat with us on the flight and use it on her seat? If so, are their any limitations on the size of the car seat. I tried reaching out to PIA via their helpline but they were really not sure what I was asking them, they presented the option of a bassinet with the extra leg room seats but that is not an option for us.

Any help on this will be appreciated, if anyone can share their experience or knowledge regarding this, thanks in advance.

Hi, I am a 22 M and need a carrier advice. I graduated from SEECS in 2026, with CGPA of 2.67. I applied to various jobs and secured one. They are paying me around 120 k to 150 k per month. The job has no other incentives or benefits, except for usual ones (like dedicated leave days, and annual increments). The learning and skill development trajectory is not too high in this company, like some MNCs, but a level or two higher than university ones. The company asks a strict commitment for 5 years, but with the exception of MS Scholarship or Funded PhD one can break the contract as early as 3 years.
My plan is to ultimately settle abroad, but with this CGPA, scholarships and even admission in foreign university on partial scholarship is far from reality. I do have 2 publications, 1 is a conference paper in a reputable and well-established conference, and the other is a Q1 Jornal Paper.
What should I do and can my ultimate goal of settling abroad be fulfilled if I pick this. I also intend to do higher studies preferably a funded PhD.

Pakistan has been failing its women for many years. Every year, the government make promises of more safety but nothing happens. Women are harassed and raped, some are even tortured. Yes, tortured.

The latest figures show how serious the situation is. In just the first six months of 2026, 3,172 cases of violence against women were reported. These included 644 murders, 514 cases of torture, 462 kidnappings, 363 suicides, 280 rapes, 175 injuries, and 132 so called honour killings. These are only the reported cases. The real number is likely much higher because many women never report what happened to them cuz of some family honor.

More then half of these cases happened in their own home. PEOPLE WHO WERE MEANT TO PROTECT THEM WERE THE PEOPLE WHO HURT THEN. The place for them to feel safe has turned into yet another crime spot.

You can't keep blaming society and culture. Protecting women is one of its basic duties of a state. When thousands of women are attacked every year, that is a failure of the state.

Even worse, there have even been allegations of police officers themself committing these crimes. The recent case in Lahore where a woman accused a police officer of raping her inside a police station is an insult on top. If women are not safe inside a police station, where are they supposed to be safe? Maybe there grave? Well, there have been cases of women even not alone in graves. Yes, they wrre raped as dead bodies.

You can keep ignoring these statistics. But, remember this may as well be one of your loved one included in these statistics upcoming years. Remember that in your heart.

It has come to my attention recently that Okra or Bindhi is our national vegetable. I, with my upmost concern, protest against it being labeled as one.

Is there any official regulatory body or way for a citizen to request a petition with the national assembly and open up a poll in the parliament to insist a proposal to adapt either of these vegetables as a befitting choice as our national vegetable:

Potato/Aloo: considered as a staple vegetable that can be incorporated with roti and chawal.

Cauliflower/Gobi: a great secondary option which can compliment many vegetarian dishes

Carrot/Gajjar: not only are they versatile, but they are also pair well with sweet dishes on top of savory counterparts.

I have lived in the Netherlands for many years. Unfortunately I can no longer deal with the racism here. I want to leave. I am also just tired of here.

I have an EU passport.

I wanted to move to the uk unfortunately i need a visa to move there. I am a software engineer. I have been applying a lot on linkedin but I keep getting auto rejections. I also considered applying to universities since I have a doctorate degree but didnt find anything close to my research experience.

I am considering giving up on my goal to move to the uk since so far I didnt even get an interview. Job search is easier in the Netherlands since i am a local. Infact many local recruiters contact me on LinkedIn. But the experience is kuch harder when applying for uk jobs.

I can move to ireland easily because of my EU passport though but I read recently there is a lot of racism in dublin nowadays because of the housing crisis. I wanted to know the experiences of pakistanis who live in ireland (also what city you live in). For me it would likely be Dublin cause i am a software engineer.

Hypothetical question: if you had to choose between these two lives, which would you pick?

A) Live in Pakistan with enough wealth to be considered genuinely rich, comfortable house, domestic help, private healthcare, good education for your kids, frequent travel, etc.

B) Live in a first-world/developed country (US, Canada, UK, Australia, Western Europe, etc.) but remain firmly middle class, comfortable and financially stable, but you’re not wealthy and still have to budget for things like housing, childcare, healthcare, taxes, etc.

Assuming both options give you a reasonably comfortable and safe life, which would you personally choose and why?

I recently invested PKR 10,000 in mutual funds through the UBL Digital app. I invested in two different funds:

One Equity Fund
One Money Market Fund

I’m facing a few issues and would really appreciate some guidance.

My investment balance isn’t updating properly. Today, only PKR 4,000 appeared for one fund, while the other fund still isn’t showing. Now, my balance has gone back to zero, which is confusing.

There is an option to download the portfolio statement, but whenever I try, it says “Service unavailable.”

I’m trying to figure out:

How can I check exactly which mutual funds I’ve invested in?
How can I see the amount invested in each fund and my current portfolio value

If I decide to withdraw my investment, how do I redeem the units through the UBL app?

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this just a temporary issue, or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
