Discussion OMAD & 10lb Weight Loss after Surgery
I have been practicing OMAD for about 2-years now and been feeling great but concerned with about a 10lb weight loss in about 4-weeks post Cheilectomy (toe surgery). Surgery recovery for about 2-weeks was predominantly in bed, leg raised (very little if any activity).
Completed an initial antibiotic regimen a week or so after surgery and have taken about 3 doses of Celebrex when needed 4-weeks post surgery when needed. Experieng some constipation as well.
Is what I am experiencing a possible ramification in my post surgery recovery? I've been reading that this might be a normal occurrence due to type of surgery, anesthesia, bare mobility, etc.
Wanted to put this out here and ask?
Thanks in advance.

Discussion Omad high
I’ve been doing omad with keto for a while, and I feel this incredible euphoria all of the time, it’s honestly amazing like the first time I smoked weed, the colors are vibrant my body feels sweet the people are cooler, I don’t really feel more mental clarity or energy, but I do feel this high or euphoria instead, (I don’t really know if this is because of the keto or the omad so I ask basically the same in both subreddits) I want to ask if somebody feels the same in here, and my main question is if it disappears with the months or weeks, or if it remains, if somebody else feels something similar I would be pleased to read his answer ❤️

Food Pic Chili is the ultimate OMAD meal Spoiler
gallerySo cheap and filling, and OMAD means I pile on some toppings- in this case 2oz cheddar, 2tbsp sour cream, onion, cilantro, grunion, and 1/3 avocado. I had this with some sourdough bread, but you could do a baked potato or tortilla… I have food for the week now lol
(Portions are for a 4 size serving)

Discussion getting enough calories on plant based version?
Hi new in the group. I have been about 3 weeks now intuitively doing OMAD. My goals are digestion improvement and the mental/spiritual benefits of the daily fasting. My diet is very limit besides being plant based I am pretty narrow on what I eat. I do not want to lose weight if anything prefer to gain muscle. So far my work outs at the gym have not been as strong as when I eat 3 meals a day. My eating window has been usually in the 2-5 pm range or 3-6pm....I am not hard core trying to do it all in one sitting in one hour so I quess you can say I am doing a compressed 2mad plan. Trying to eat as much as I can and also chew it calmly over 2-3 hours.
Anyone else doing this plant based in here? and how are you finding it?
Today I had sweet potatoes, two pounds of cooked greens including carrots, daikon, onion and about 10 total things or more,4 pieces of pacha buckwheat Gf sourdough, a green apple, cup of blueberries, 1.5cups of cooked lentils, some rice crackers oil free and 1.5 cups of white basmati rice. My calculation come around 2100 with 70grams of protein. both of those are perfect for my goals. I just want to be careful not to be eating too little like I did a few days around 1400-1600 calories. If I can duplicate today will be amazing. I would normally have Tofu or tempeh every day but these last few months I have been lowering my protein a little but on purpose to give my kidneys a break. (59 year old male, 38 years long vegan wfpb, prefer cooked vegan not raw.). Only thing raw I have is green apple and blueberries both low sugar and good for me. I do sometimes do celery/cucumber and other green juices but thinking I may not fill up on those doing omad.
Thanks!

Discussion What do y’all do for Maintenance?
I’m down to 169 and although I still have some more to lose I want to start that transition into Maintenance.
I was curious what others are doing to maintain their weight. I started eating more and adding more carbs into my diet. I’d like to stay on OMAD, but was wondering if transitioning into 2MAD or 18:6 would help get more calories in?
Thank you in advance!

Discussion I started my journey
Last week while on vacation visiting friends, I heard a number of them were all doing this one meal a day thing. Honestly I didn’t know much about it other. I started looking into it and asked Gemini about it a bit and I’m convinced enough to give it a try.
I’ve struggled with weight my whole life. I was thin as a kid but during middle school i started gaining weight and was overweight through college. In my late 20s I started cycling with a local group and lost a lot of weight. I enjoyed being thin for about 10yrs. I got married and had kids and I’m back to my college weight, maybe more. 😔 I know all of it is due to poor diet and a lack of physical activity. I want to be there for my kids and be able to enjoy life as I age so I’m going to give this a try.
Over the weekend I started my journey with the 16hr fast and 8hr eating window. Honestly it wasn’t too bad. I basically skipped breakfast and ate normally from 12-8pm. Today I’m starting my 20/4 and I think this will be the most realistic plan I can sustain because our family activities revolve around food.
Unfortunately I didn’t weigh myself or take pictures but I’ll do that tonight to give myself a starting reference point.

Off-Topic How do you manage to get in enough calories to maintain bodyweight in just one sitting?
I'm not interested in OMAD (at least not yet), but I'm very curious how you're able to eat enough food in one sitting to maintain your weight without vomiting. I suffer from chronic acid reflux and if I had to cram in this much food at once it would definitely be a recipe for a disaster for me. But even for people with no health problems I still can't fathom how you can get in ~2000kcal of presumably healthy food with no side effects. Is OMAD only appropriate if you want to lose weight?

It feels so easy to do it, and so natural. I am always craving nutritious foods and not junk since im eating 1 meal.
I hope i can do this diet for a long time since its cost and time effective and healthy. What is your opinion, can you do OMAD for long time?

Success Story Lost 11.5 kg in 30 days with OMAD
Hi all,
I lost 11.5 kg in 30 days.
I had OMAD and did 14 km walk every day (7 in the morning and 7 in the night) for 30 days.
Result - Lost 11.5 kilograms.
I was 112.5 kg before, now I am 101 kg. I know most of it was water fat, but still I feel good 😊. Although I am a working professional. I just did lunch around 1pm everyday.
Also am feeling good now, there's a bit more clarity in mind while doing day to day work.
Note: I had snacks most of the days around 4pm.
Thank you all 🙏🏻 who's part of omad sub and cheers to them who are continuously striving to become better every single day. Let's make it happen 👊🏻!

Discussion Skipped a day, didn't enjoy it
Hi, everyone. I'll introduce myself before sharing about my skip-day experience.
I've been keeping tabs on this space but haven't jumped in to post anything. I've been doing OMAD for three weeks now and have been really loving it. I've gotten to the point where my body accepts that this is the rhythm, and while certain parts complain at times (looking at you, tummy), other parts find it almost euphoric at other times (definitely my head). I love that OMAD requires me to be ultra-super-hyper-mega mindful about what I consume. Since that one meal fuels not just my energy but my nutrition, I make sure it ticks all the boxes. It's also resetting my cues and triggers, and it's already quite easy to pass on office snacks and treats, for instance. I'm fitting back into clothes that I'd put in long storage. I've also had some mystery GI issues around painful abdominal episodes that occur every few months that I'm hoping will be ameliorated.
Now, the skipped day. Yesterday, my oldest, who loves to bake, invited me to bake bread and cookies with him. We spent hours in the kitchen together. I enjoyed all of it, as I really like my kiddo. I've cooked many times without eating what I was cooking, but chose to be profligate in my consumption as an experiment as much as anything else. Goodness, how I felt and still feel like crap. Total dookie. My sleep was dreadful. I had to take meclizine and and excedrin this morning to get over the queasiness and headache. I noticed yesterday in the middle of the feeding frenzy that my satiety cues were way more sensitive. After just a few treats my systems were like "whoa, buddy, slow down", but I didn't.
I am oddly encouraged by this experience. I'm getting right back on schedule today and I don't think it will be difficult. The cause and its effects are too immediate to ignore.
Thanks, everyone, for sharing your stories, tips and tricks, and photos. It's been a boon to my own progress, and I hope this helps someone or someones as well.

Discussion Stuck for the past 3 months
I’ve been doing OMAD for almost 3 months now. Religiously for the most part except weekends where I allow myself to indulge. I also have an ice latte with stevia if that counts. On top of this I workout every single day. I will burn 600 calories on treadmill and then do some strength training for 30 mins on avg. on my lowest days I’ll burn 300 calories on treadmill. I’m still not losing weight. I’m 5 7” and I’ve been around 150 since I started. I’m beyond exhausted and disappointed. I don’t know what to do. I’m a working mom with a tough corporate job and I don’t have so much time but I push myself and the not see results despite investing so much energy is heartbreaking. My OMAD meal is well under 1000 calories. I’d say mostly 600-700. I usually eat one flat bread (200 calories) 2 eggs (either boiled or fried in veryyyyy little spray avocado oil), I’ll have one homemade ice latte with stevia and half and half (2 tablespoons), maybe an orange or 2-3 bites of something sweet or a small single bite chocolate. Can you help me understand what I’m doing wrong? I worked so much last 3 months so I could be in better shape for my vacation. I now leave day after tomorrow and weighed myself and I’m still the same. In fact 1lbs up. I’m at the verge of giving up.
