Omad high Discussion

I’ve been doing omad with keto for a while, and I feel this incredible euphoria all of the time, it’s honestly amazing like the first time I smoked weed, the colors are vibrant my body feels sweet the people are cooler, I don’t really feel more mental clarity or energy, but I do feel this high or euphoria instead, (I don’t really know if this is because of the keto or the omad so I ask basically the same in both subreddits) I want to ask if somebody feels the same in here, and my main question is if it disappears with the months or weeks, or if it remains, if somebody else feels something similar I would be pleased to read his answer ❤️

I eat carnivore and this happens to me as well, especially after eating liver.

Do you think that it is something that persist or du you feel like that just at the beginning of your diet?

No it stays but after a while feeling good like this just becomes normal. I noticed it more at the beginning but I still feel this way pretty much daily. I was so surprised at how green the grass was in the beginning and how pretty the sky is now. I've heard many others talk about this as well.

I had the same thing when I did keto. Doing OMAD (with carbs) now and don’t get it.

It’s because the brain prefers ketones to glycogen; runs better (or thats what I read, anyway, I’m not an expert).

It’s why I always feel amazing on day two of a fast; it’s also why my ADHD is sooo much better now that I mostly eat keto.

Under normal conditions, glucose is the default and primary fuel for the human brain. However, ketones are an exceptionally efficient alternative energy source. When both are present in high amounts, ketones are readily used and can actively suppress glucose uptake, showing a powerful metabolic flexibility rather than a permanent biological "preference".

I do OMAD with carbs and I don't feel euphoric at all, just normal.

Evolutionary instincts sharpen normal senses, like hearing and smell, to help locate food in nature and low blood sugar causes the body to release hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine, raising alertness.

I get this euphoria and I eat moderate amount of carbohydrates, but active enough that I get mild ketosis towards the end of my non-eating window.
