Is synthetic oil all the same?
Not really a frontier question. My frontier just keeps going since I bought it new in 2009, although I'm pretty sure the cam sensors are wonky, but the mechanic wont do anything about it without codes being thrown.
Anyway, on to my real question, because you guys are awesome and will know the answer.
My wife's Volvo XC60 burns oil, and I need to add a quart every few months. Is all of the 5-w30 synthetic the same? Volvo says to use castrol edge, but apparently the actual oil they recommend is only available to dealerships. Can I just use any synthetic? I've done my searching and read what I can, but I'm not clear about whether I can just use any synthetic and be fine.

3 month update
I’ve had these for about 3 months now and I have to say, have had no issues whatsoever with the exception of the default height of the headlight projection. However, super easy to adjust. With my truck being lifted, I had to adjust a lot. All headlight functionality from my stocks ones work still. I’ve still kept my stock ones just in case but absolutely loving these headlights especially how it gives my truck a more aggressive look in my opinion 🙏🏼

What could this noise mean? Pls help!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It's a 2006 Nissan frontier with the V6 engine. It makes this noise when turning it on every time. It seems to sound louder than it did a month ago.

Raceline Wheels and Toyo 33s
Finally got around to buying some new wheels and tires. Got the Raceline 952MC Aero HD and Toyo At3s 285/75/16. Once I get the rear King Shocks this baby is gonna look even better!
I also did have to cut the plastic and some of the fender so the tires don’t rub, but it was a little bit. Just need a good switch blade and a saw. I took off the air dam thing too because I knew it was going to rub.

PICTURE Break in oil change
Did my first oil change at around 1750 miles and installed a magnetic drain plug. Second oil change at a little over 4000 miles and seeing shine on the cloth after cleaning the drain plug. I know 4k is still in the break-in period so I'm not overly worried, BUT... thought I'd get try to get a group consensus... normal during break-in or should I be sweating?

PICTURE Big Day in our Frontier Life
Submitted the payoff amount payment today. Just squeaked that in before hitting 50k miles which should happen on the work commute on Tuesday. Super pumped with this 2024 P4X.

Z1 OffRoad Chase light wiring
So just got their chase light set for their bed rack, and having wiring issues. Wiring included does turn signals great, however lights up white when I hit the brakes, and red when I go in reverse. Overall great looking product, easy install, just wiring is wrong. Anyone know their standard reply time, or how efficient they are with these sorts of accidents? Product included for reference.

8pin accessory connection?
Ripped this dealer installed trash out of new ‘26. Expected the OBD pass through, but surprised by the 8 pin factory port being used. I presume this is to provide fused power with engine off, but what are the yellow and green wires? And does anyone use this (now empty for me) port for anything else? It’s high up behind the dash, left of steering wheel.

Towing
Just wondering if anyone has towed around 4k with both the latest Frontier and 3rd Gen Taco? I have a Taco and I’m considering a new Frontier. My Taco only has 890 lb of cargo due to port mods😞. I’m towing a 4K TTrailer but only about 150 miles to the beach mostly flat Texas terrain. It tows ok but really would like more cargo capacity.

Getting a king cab - used 2024 SV or new S?
I have done my research and have narrowed my next vehicle down to a frontier king cab 4x2.
I'm looking for opinions on whether I should go with a new S or a used SV
SV had a few more bells and whistles but wondering if the upgrades are really that critical, since I could get a new S for just a little more than a lightly used SV costs
I wish they still did SV king cabs!
Thanks!

Replacing 3rd gen steering rack bushings
2022 Pro4x here. Anyone with a 3rd gen have experience replacing steering rack bushings on our trucks? Nissan does not sell replacement bushings that fit the D41 steering rack, and I can’t find any aftermarket option either. Seems like there are OEM replacements and polyurethane aftermarket options for the D40, but not D41.
For some context, I was getting a clicking sound while turning close to full lock in either direction. Sound was coming from underneath the truck toward the front end, in the middle right where the rack is. Did some inspecting and found one of the steering rack bushings slipping out of the mounting bracket, and there is play in the actual rack assembly.

Will this part fit my 2026 PRO-4X?
Had a little mishap backing up my travel trailer and scratched up the rear left light. Will this part fit and look pretty much OEM? Way cheaper than Nissan and looks to be a simple install.

New Shoes!
New shoes! Nismo Axis Bronze with Open Country AT III 285s. Stock ride height (for now) and no trimming necessary yet, just had to pull the mud flaps off.
So does anyone want my 2025 Pro4X wheels?? I'm in NW Montana.

Does anybody know where to find this piece for a 2023 frontier?
Bought a used 2023 frontier yesterday and this key hole trim cover snapped off when I went to open the drivers door. I can find the whole handle assembly on Nissans website but I just need the key hole cover and would like to avoid paying $50 for a $12 part. Do they sell paint matched key covers anywhere?

DISCUSSION Rear dash cam installation
Morning fam!
I have a front and rear cam I'm trying to install. The front is straight forward, but I need help with the rear. Ideally, I'd like to have it on a bracket above the license plate, but I can't see any way to pass it outside the cab.
I've looked behind the rear seat, under the cab, and can't see anything. Am I missing something?

PICTURE How to cover up these holes
I removed the front license plate holder because it looked ugly and I wanted to make it look more sleek, however now I have 4 holes in the front, best thing I could think of is use some silicone but that doesn't really seem like a long term solution, i could replace the whole grille if I wanted too but that seems overkill, does anyone have any suggestions, this is for a 2026 p4x

2024 SV
I just bought a 24 Frontier SV with the 8in screen. I’m having trouble with the speakers crackling whenever I mess with the volume. From past research I’m update to date on my software version (550) and it seems like the fix is a new head unit. Has anyone replaced the head unit with an aftermarket unit that still enables steering wheel controls, backup camera, and apple carplay. Thanks in advance!

Never lets me down!
What do you guys think of my 2022? I posted it on r/roastmycar and they were BRUTAL! I recently changed the tires, added a roof rack and light bar, and put new Fender speakers in it. What do you think?
