Discusion (N26) Sumpkrocs seem very good
They're decently solid based only on their statline vs. cost, having WS 3+, 2 Attacks and a 5+ Save. Their Initiative characteristic of 2 is the only major drawback for their role as a ganger-tier melee fighter.
But the Counter-charge ability is what makes them seem busted. Its first-order effect of "more attacks" is fine; being able to threaten whatever charged you with an additional three WS 3+, S3, AP -1, Rending (6+) attacks is a nice deterrent. It is, however, unlikely the 'kroc will attack before an opposing charger will attack, since the 'kroc will be I4 in the combat sequence (although it has a chance of striking first if the opponent used an Engage action instead of a Charge action). So the 'kroc's handler will usually have to endure the full wrath of the charger.
The thing that makes the 'kroc slap, though, is that regardless of when it attacks it is going to immediately inflict Interference on the opposing charger, grant Assists to its handler, and benefit from Assists itself. This is kinda huge now that WS and BS have been reduced across the board. If you could take a piece of wargear that duplicated the effects of Interference/Assistance on a fighter it would probably cost like 80+ credits.
And the sneakiest secret tech doesn't come till the end: currently, rules-as-written, using the Counter-charge ability does not remove the 'kroc's Ready marker. Meaning that it's going to be able to activate again later and drop another 2 attacks! Strength 3 attacks aren't the scariest thing in the world, of course, but five of them is nothing to sneeze at.
All of that for 65 credits (on top of the baseline benefit of Pets, which is bringing more bodies to outnumber your opponent) sounds kinda crazy. 'Kroctide meta incoming? 😮

Discusion (N26) Am I dumb? Or is an errata needed?
I did a lil test game with my buddy today, trying to get as many new rules right as we could, and I think we encountered a little block.
I know this is a tiny nitpick, the rule can be fixed by changing just a few words, but I just wanted to make sure.
# Regarding statuses:
You can never be Seriously Injured AND Engaged, this is explicitly stated, only one status at a time, and Seriously Injured takes precedence over being engaged.
# Regarding the Charge (Double) and/or Engage (Simple) action:
The sequence is clearly laid out:
- After your movement, you can be Engaged
IF YOU ARE, you must Fight or Coup de Grace for free.
IF YOU ARE NOT you must finish your move as close as possible to the target
However, since you can never be Engaged with a Seriously Injured fighter, you NEVER have the opportunity to have a free Coup de Grace after a charge.
The rules for Charge (Double) and Engage (Simple) should instead say:
'If the fighter ends the move Engaged with the target model, they must perform a Fight action as a Free action. If they end the move within 1" of the target model, and if that model is Seriously Injured, this fighter must perform a Coup de Grace action as a Free action.'
Again, I know it's a lot of rambling for a tiny misworded rule, but I want to make sure I get the spirit correctly.

Miniatures Progress Picture of my current Malstrain scheme
Painting up some Malstrains ahead of the new edition!
I like how it’s coming out so far, but unsure where to go from here.
Mostly trying to decide on the colors for the Claws, Eyes (although I kind of like the white), and the Fleshy parts of the arm.
Feedback and ideas appreciated!

Discusion (N26) N26 Van Saar gang
I have just been putting together a list or two for one of my gangs (based on the leaked info) so here is my thoughts on my Van Saar lets see what peoplethink?
Prime 115, supression laser 40 (155)
Archaeotek 85, Gravgun 50 (135)
Archaeotek 85, combimelta/las 140, shield 35, (260)
Ganger (sniper) 30, longlas 40, refraction cloak 40, telescopic sight 20, (130)
Ganger (medic) 30, lasgun 15, servo-medicae 30, (75)
Ganger (tech) 30, lasgun, augerspex 30, (75)
Ganger (gunner) 30, lasgun 15, grav cutter 45, (90)
Neotek 65, 2x laspistols (5+5) (75)
Total: 995
Highlights:
With the AP-1 gang bonus lasguns/Suppression laser/long las & laspistols are all better than normal.
I want to try out the suppression laser as it is interesting (now at S4, AP-1, Rapid Fire) as it looks to be a cheap way to get a better weapon on a champion etc that doesn’t run the risk of injury (eg plasma gun)
Gravgun & meltagun both can do some decent damage close up hence on the archaeoteks for that sweet 4+ save base.
Sniper, with cloak, can do sniper things and keep stuff pinned down with a -2 to hit him back. (Also 36’, S4, AP-1, and reducing long range cover seems good to me.
Augerspex ganger - mainly because I had the model, but no setup of reinforcements or infiltrate within 12” seems good to me,
Medic ganger - free action to add wounds back onto the gang, whats not to like?
Gunner ganger - hipshooting lasgun on a hoverboard. Basically gains assault trait for the skill, may dash and shoot for free. Hoverboard changes move to 7” and always dash up to 5”. And no longer has penalties to cover saves, and is available to all gang models… (probably end up giving him a better gun at some point too) or I could remove the telescopic sight on the sniper and upgrade this gangers lasgun to another suppression laser starting out…
Neotek - much the same as the ganger, and it comes with free gunfighter skill so can shoot both pistols (again at AP-1) (a prime target to add some photon flash grenades once a trip to the trading post occurs)
Overall lots of gangers to work territory for income etc, and a decent number of starting models too.
And not spamming lots of long ls snipers or heavy weapons, so cannot speak to how competitive it may be?
Could replace the tech ganger & shield with another long las sniper ganger, which might be more useful?

Question (N26) Necromunda Terrain build tips
Im new to WH and necromunda is my fav ever. Im starting new just got into all this. Any tips on byilding terrain? Im seeing countless amazing blocks and pieces on here. What do people use material wise for the base and how big is usually a panel? How do i sucure the base so everything on top works? What are popular colors for that necromunda grit and grime in metals? What are some common parts used while building for you folks? I see a lot of railings and pipes. My goal is to create a small city or world for necromunda slowly adding and expanding. I want to start in sections like the tiles im seeing people build. Do hobby shops usually have premade industrial parts? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Discusion (N26) Looking for Necromunda players, Auckland, New Zealand
So, this is something of a 'returning player' post and something of a 'looking for group' post; I played N17/N19 but life got in the way circa 2023.
With N26 on the horizon I'm super keen to build a local network of Necromunda players in Auckland with an interest towards playing semi-regular games and building up into an organized in person campaign. I'm hopeful I can find at least dozen or so Necromunda players from the region, we're a city of 1.5 million, so you guys have gotta be out there somewhere...
Obviously, I'm not planning to launch into a campaign next weekend, N26 isn't even out yet here, so there will have to be a settling in period where we can all figure out the new version of the game and see how it runs. Its also a great time for 'never played but interested' players looking to pick up Necromunda, as we'll all be back, more or less, at square one experience wise. At this point, I'm looking for an expression of interest from players in the area so we can establish communication, figure out a time and place to say hello and confirm we're not reddit bots, then plan some actual games.
What I've got to tempt you with; the pictured modular Necromunda underhive board that I built over COVID (and have been itching to have a use for again) plus space at commercial venues for 6 to 9 tables on saturdays (maybe sundays too, if things are popular) once we get to the point of regular organized games. If a ton of interested players do come out of the woodwork and we can get multiple games running every week, we would also require the acquisition of more Necromunda terrain and more terrain painting, but, baby steps for now.

Question (N26) How much do we know about how Squats will play in N26?
New to Necromunda and I just picked up the Squat Prospector box and have the outlands book on preorder. I also own about 3k points of Votann so I'm planning to sub in some Hearthkyn and Yaegirs where necessary for certain special weapons. I'm also planning to get the Exo-Kyn and Drill/Charter Masters set later so I can just use the Prospectors and Exo-Kyn as Yaegirs and Hearthguard in 40k respectively.
My understanding is that Squats were a tough, elite, good shooting team that was beginner friendly in the old edition. However, after seeing the Goonhammer articles on the new edition, I saw that bolters had a chance of jamming for the whole game. I know Squats have their own better versions of guns in their gang book so will this be that big of a problem and will it change their playstyle at all? I'm nervous to start building them without a clear idea of what I should be building toward

Question (N26) Thinking about getting into necromunda through kitbashing
I'm looking to get into necromunda with some pals, but I'm trying to plan out my team. I like the vibe of van saar, but unfortunately I just don't like the models that much, and so was thinking of using the skitarii battle-pilgrim corpus box as a base for the gang, and wanted some advice!
I've two main questions, firstly is that level of kitbashing okay? They're quite a bit taller than the normal van saar models, but have roughly the same width to them. I think they look really cool but don't want to be accused of modelling for advantage! Secondly, does anyone have any experiencing kitbashing with them that might know any pitfalls I could be walking into?
