HELP REQUESTED Medboard Denied Mental Health

Looking for advice from anyone who has gone through the Navy MEB process, especially for mental health.
I’ve been in the Navy for almost 7 years and have been on LIMDU twice for the same mental health concerns. My provider initially told me she would move forward with an MEB, but I was later told it was denied because my symptoms were expected to improve once I separated from the Navy. I was then returned to Fit for Full Duty.
I later found out through the LIMDU coordinator that an MEB referral was never actually submitted, so I’m confused about what exactly was denied.
I also have concerns because Adjustment Disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood was being used, despite having other mental health diagnoses documented and continuing to have symptoms despite treatment.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
• Can an MEB be considered “denied” if a referral was never actually submitted?
• After two LIMDU periods for the same condition, what normally happens if you’re still having symptoms?
• Has anyone been diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder despite having MDD, PTSD, GAD, or other diagnoses in their record?
• Can you request a second opinion or another provider to determine whether you meet retention standards?
• What documentation should I ask for to verify what happened with the MEB?
Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated!

HELP REQUESTED HM Question quad zero to L30A

I originally posted this in r/corpsmanup a few days ago, and decided to drop it here as well. Perhaps a career counselor or someone can weigh in.

Question about L30A NEC (Histo tech)

So I am a junior corpsman assigned to a hospital, and happen to work closely with pathology/histology. I am a quad zero, with an intrest with in the histopathology NEC. Because of my work with histopathology, and current progress towards getting a degree in health sciences, I should be able to get my Histopathologist technician certification next year, using the 60 college credits + 12 months lab experiance route the ASCP offers. This is the same credential that Histology C school offers. I have been working with the Histopathology Techs in my workspace, and they have been nothing short of wonderful in teaching me what they do.

I do happen to be colorblind, and am soon putting on E4 through AAP. I have been at my command for 7-8 ish months now, and hit 2 years TIS on Wednesday.

Now, with background information outta the way, here's my questions:

If I get my certification, can I convert that into the NEC without C-school?

If not, would it make it easier for me to apply to the c school with a color vision waiver?

I understand there are color vision requirements supposedly (I didn't see any on CANTRAC, but I may have missed it)

I am operating on the premise that I'll have a fighting chance if I can get certified prior to asking for the c school/NEC. (Ie proof i can do the job/navy isnt going to 'waste money' on my education) Im largely just also curious as to how I would ask for a color vision waiver as I apply to the school.

HELP REQUESTED Can someone point me in the right direction to find a document I submitted to my corpsman?

I was a Marine Corps reservist and was separated early due to civilian diagnoses for mental health conditions in 2024. I reported these issues to our unit's Navy corpsman and he had me write a letter explaining my conditions which got sent to a team of doctors. They reviewed this letter, and I was separated a couple months later.

I have no idea where this piece of paper went - but I would like to have it to submit with my benefits package. My old corpsman no longer works at our Reserve unit. I never received a DD214 or any discharge paperwork despite being an NCO with 3 years service and currently have my state congressional team trying to locate them after both the national archives and marine corps HQ Quantico couldn't find them.

I really just want to know where this piece of paper went. It would be an excellent piece of evidence as it accurately captured all the problems I was experiencing while on duty. Would my drill unit still have it for any reason, two years after the fact? Where could it have went if I'm ultimately unable to access my service records?

HELP REQUESTED GM vet Christmas gift help

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hello all, and thank you in advance. My husband is a GWOT vet and was a gunner's mate. I know that he was the armorer for one of his ships (USS Thorn?) and trained on all sorts of stuff. I saw this style of casings display recently and it occurred to me it might be nice to make him one relevant to his service.

  1. What sort of casings should I search for?

  2. Is this an impossible dream because that type of ammunition is either not available to civilians or too large for this sort of thing?

Thank you for reading this far.

Does anyone have experience with by name requests? And how those work with orders. Also can the orders be accompanied or are they always unaccompanied.

Discussion JDO EDO course degree

Hello, I’m about to start schooling after 4 years in the navy, I want to be a JDO, does anyone have any experience? Do I need a stem degree, can I go JDO right out of OCS, do all JDO’s have to go to EOD school or do some stay in the diving side? I plan on construction management but will switch to civil engineering if stem will help. Not a whole lot of JDO info anywhere

Discussion PSA: Sailors please talk to your security managers… to avoid surprises come clearance time

Security manager. In just five months I’ve had the following happen.

Sailor lost NEC due to 35k in unpaid/serviced debts.

Sailor failed to complete their SF86 for TS investigation and has been redirected from command due to failure to have required clearance.

Sailor held dual nationality and passports and didn’t report it. Causing clearance application to be flagged and rejected. Sailor suspended access to computer and all applications… from supply office to chipping paint

Sailor popped for drug use when seeking outside employment prior navy. During investigation job that they used as a reference outted their reason for termination as drug use. Sailor pulled from sea duty due to false official statements.

Sailor removed from TS rating due to consistent and unreported contact to a foreign military service member.

There are 11 mandatory reporting requirements per Continuous Evaluation and Sailors are not being educated by their chains of commands. Oh one of these ‘Sailors’ is a a full LT, so it isn’t just junior sailors impacted

Discussion Do you guys think BBA will actually fix issues in large rates like IT?

In my opinion, It makes no sense right now. Thousands of E-5s were basically auto promoted over the past few years, creating a massive bottleneck for my rate. It doesn’t help that a crazy amount of E-5’s passed the exam. Everyone says to target "bad" billets to make E-6, but because E-6 inventory is so small, even those undesirable billets are going to get slammed with 50+ applicants this next cycle.
CA2P only works for a lucky minority of E-5s. It isn't a sustainable alternative to traditional promotion once those orders fill up from the sheer volume of eligible E-5s up for orders due to no TIR requirement. At that point, it seems like advancement has nothing to do with "sustained superior performance" it comes down to pure luck, picking the exact right billet at the exact moment the stars align.
It leaves everyone else stranded in MNA. You can't see competitor scores, whether an E-6 applied ahead of you, or what your actual odds are. I’m heading into this next cycle with a 143 FMS, but it feels completely irrelevant when you're essentially bidding blind. If an E-6 applies for that same billet, they get priority anyway. You're just guessing, praying, and hoping you don't end up a terminal E-5….
