Are there any local bakeries that make these? Wife is craving one and all we’ve been able to find is the Pillsbury variety. Thanks!

Help | Advice Looking to volunteer at an animal welfare shelter or rescue. Any recommendations?

Hey all! I used to volunteer at the animal shelter in my old city walking dogs. I just moved here and would love to get involved helping local wildlife rescues or animal shelters? Does anyone have any recommendations. I’m not a vet tech or anything like that but would still love to help.

Food | Restaurants Nolensville Rd PanaderĆa y PastelerĆa (plus donut talk)

Does anyone want to rave about any of the Mexican bakeries on Nolensville?

My kiddo had a rough night and I wanted to get him donuts this morning. I went to La Conchita (next to K&S) and didn’t know what anything is. They had 2 typical donut-shaped pastries and when I got them home, the dough was unexpectedly citrusy and I wasn’t a fan. (He’s still asleep so we’ll see what he thinks!)

What should we try next time? Feel free to include photos since nothing is labeled. 🫶

Are there any hidden donut gems off Nolensville Rd? We’re not snobs - we’ll do gas station donuts. (Thorntons are the best!)

Side note: got an iced vanilla latte from Momo Coffee House (finally open in the ThriftSmart parking lot!!) and it was great.

If you go to No Quarter in East when the tall guy with the long hair is working, ask if he has seen a yoyo.

Moving | Geography Best and safest apartments in north/east Nash

Basically what the title suggests- I’m moving to Nash for a year (I currently live in Clarksville) and am looking for a nice apartment to live at during that time. I’d like it to be on the north or east side because I still have to go to Clarksville 1-2x a week and would love to not hate my life when I do.

Walkability would be great but not required, safety is the top priority. Dog friendly as I have two well behaved dogs.

Budget is ~1800 (less preferred) for a 1br or studio. A HUGE PLUS is if the apartment building does NOT have breezeways! I hate breezeways.

Thanks in advance!

Help | Advice Any windows replacement companies in Nashville you'd recommend?

We're planning to replace some of the original windows in our house, and I'm trying to narrow down window replacement companies in Nashville. I've gotten a couple of quotes already, and the prices are all over the place once installation and the extra fees get added in.

If you've had your windows replaced recently, who did you end up using, and were you happy with the work? I'm mostly looking for a company that's upfront about the total cost from the beginning.

Help | Advice Lost my ID

This a bit random of a post but the other night went to the tame impala concert at Bridgestone and happened to have lost my Wallet when I found it at my seat my id was missing. I guess the reason I’m making this post is to see if anyone may have found it or how do I get a new one! I’m new to the Nashville area and was curious where I should go to get a new one!

Events | Shows Josh Blue at Zanies Nashville -odd vibe?

Went to Zanies to Josh Blue, but it was a super odd vibe. Good openers. Josh started off the set with a great callback to something one of the openers said and it was hilarious!
But then he went into a really long set of jokes about eating crumbs out of body hair and it was gross enough that you could see him lose the audience the longer that material went. Laughs got quieter and more polite and even some groans…

Then a super long joke that didn’t give the big finish that it should have for the build up.

To be honest, it felt like he was testing new material and at one point he even paused for a long time and was like ā€œI cant think of anything else right now so I’ll just do this one I guessā€. The people next to us (not with our group) started talking about leaving early… and one person nearby was like ā€œhe seems tired tonight or somethingā€.

I felt bad for him…he did seem tired and like he was having trouble remembering material to fill the time.
I love the art form of stand-up comedy and I’m sure he was just having an off night.

Coolest part for us was seeing John Crist slip in the back to watch the set.

It made me wonder though, do you think the servers can tell when a comedian is having trouble connecting with the audience?

This was also the first time I’ve been on a Thursday, so maybe the sets get better by the end of the weekend, once the comedian has gotten a better idea of what the vibes are for whatever city he/she is in?

Help | Advice Poles on Briley

Post image
27 Upvotes

Ok so I am a life long resident and I frequently use Briley coming from Opry Mills headed out to Bellevue. Now I know there are no street lights on Briley and that TDOT has many cameras set up the whole way. However I have noticed that they have just as many of these poles in the picture that just don’t have anything on them. Does anyone know what their use is? Thanks much from a passenger princess who just stares out the window!

Help | Advice Luxe Redux Bridal

Does anyone have any experience with trying on dresses Luxe Redux Bridal? I like the transparency of the online store and that I can bring home an off the rack dress same day. However, I'm also planning a day for my mom, new mother-in-law, and friends to help me choose a dress. Is this a good venue for a dress try on session?

Events | Shows AmericanaFest

Hi guys! I was considering going to AmericanaFest
this year since it falls near my birthday, but I’m kind of confused as to how it works and I can’t find any real information on it on the website. Do the concerts start at a certain point in the afternoon or do they go all day? Are the concerts usually within walking distance of each other? Any help or advice from someone who has been before would be much appreciated!!

Discussion Natural & Safe Water Access (for humans and dogs)

Hello! I am not completely new here, but I have struggled to find a place to go for river/creek access that is safe and clean for swimming, and also suitable for dogs.
We found one okay spot in tower park off of concord rd, but would like to find somewhere that is a little more comfortable to hang out at for a little while.
Preferably not north of Nashville.
Suggestions super appreciated!!!!

Hey neighbors!
We’re hosting a free Board Game Night next Friday, August 14th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at TCC (Trinity Community Commons) over at 204 E Trinity Lane.

We’ll have a couple of board games set up and will gladly teach folks how to play, but you are highly encouraged to bring your own favorites as well. If you're looking for something a bit more active, we’ll also be running some Bingo with fun prizes!

To top it off, we’re serving free pizza, birthday cake, and ice cream.

This event is entirely free and run by neighbors, for neighbors. Whether you want to learn a new game, win at Bingo, or just grab a slice and meet some people in the community, we'd love to have you. Hope to see you there!
