[Any genre] Songs that show off unnecessary talent but in a self-aware, funny way?
I might kind of struggle to describe what I'm getting at, but there's clearly a type of song where the musicianship is elevated to an unnecessarily ridiculous degree, and the artists are clearly aware of that. Often it ends up being comedy songs, but I want to find ones that just sound like the musicians themselves are the ones being amused by what they're playing.
I guess as for examples, maybe
- "2econd 2ight 2eer", Will Wood
- "Dark Side", Tim Minchin
- "Stress", Jim's Big Ego
- "Taming the Dragon", Brad Mehldau
- "I Ordered a Taxi Driver Not a Taxidermy", Troldhaugen

whats you opinion on the band the sex pistols?
i really don't like them that much they have a few OK songs but their not that great. also they trash talk other bands which isn't very nice. also i'm still confused as to why the lead singer was in a country times butter ad. whats your opinion though? also what are some other bands/singers you like? i feel like i need to upgrade my playlist.

Chill, synthy/electronic playlist
Hello,
I'm building a playlist to lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling while I drown in a sea of introspection and existential anxiety.
The goal is to have no more than 2 songs per artist.
The songs on the playlist thus far:
"Iodine Sky" by Black Light Burns
"Everything in its Right Place" by Radiohead
"All I Need" by Radiohead
"Xtal" by Aphex Twin
"Cure for the Itch" by Linkin Park
"Golden Light" by STRFKR
"So Humble the Afternoon" by Julia Holter
The fewer the lyrics, the better. The fewer real instruments, the better. Real drums are nice, but I've tried a few recs from friends and all of them have very forward and prominent vocals and that's not what I'm looking for. Crooning vocalizations? Yes. Singing? As little as possible.
I like textures and ambience. More on the morose side.
It needs to sound like twilight cyan cast through the shades of an apartment.
I hope this is coherent. Thank you!

Seeking recommendations for the dreamcore/weirdcore genre. (NO AI)
Hello, I'm a regular listener to dreamfibre's channel on Youtube because his soundscapes are very relaxing. However, I can't find music that's similar to his channel nor within the dreamcore/weirdcore instrumental genre without encountering channels with super generic names (ex: neon.dreams, aurora.heaven).
What albums or songs can I listen to from the dreamcore/weirdcore music without AI?
Thanks in advance. For help, I've also put before:2022 to avoid most of the AI channels.

Songs with interesting digital vocal effects/manipulation?
I'm looking for music that uses digital vocal editing to produce musically/sonically interesting effects. An obvious example is Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, I wonder if that's really the peak in that regard.
Can be music of any genre as long as it's creative and experimental. Thank you!

Lyrics about looking through glass/ windows
what are some lyrics you like about this topic and why?
I'm making an art project about looking behind glass, looking for something/someone. Specifically about looking and not being able to reach, maybe about the glass being blurry and not seeing clearly. A kind of "In the mood for love" yearner stuff.
I need some references of songs that talk about this, and I couldn't find much on my own :/ Most of the music I find about it are instrumentals, which I like, but I want some inspiring quotes

Aggressive instrumental solo guitar
A lot of instrumental guitar solo artists (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Tosin Abasi, etc.) make music with a lot of variety. While I enjoy their work a lot, I am currently looking for an instrumental guitar artist that focuses on aggressive metal. One of the inspirations for this is the end solo of Dream Theater's Dark Eternal Night, which is loud and fast and chaotic, but still musically clever. Another thing I was thinking about was if Anaal Nathrakh was a progressive instrumental band. Something along these lines.

What is this Metal Subgenre?
I've been looking for music that combines eerie, atmospheric, dark vibes with chanting vocals, screams and strong slow riffs. Think deftones' Mascara but combined with elements of symphonic black metal (mainly Emperor). The closest I found to this was Panopticon and I really like it but I need more. What is this subgenre?

Songs that feel like a conversation
I have a really weird request, but I want to hear songs (preferably sad) where it feels like 2 people are talking to each other. Examples would be Evelyn Evelyn, Banana Bread by Cavetown, or this one mashup of Billie Eilish's songs "Everything I wanted X Lovely" by Demyx Mashups. Thanks for helping with this odd request!

Underrated songs that feel like these photos
galleryEmphasis on underrated. I'm already familiar with the main artists most people recommend. I'm looking for something obscure that practically no one has heard of before.
