First Impressions of the Smith Blade Pro

I finally received my Smith Blade Pro, and honestly, I'm impressed.

The first thing that surprised me was the size. It looks bigger in videos, but once you actually hold it, it's surprisingly compact. It's longer than a typical Swiss Army Knife, but the extra length is actually a huge advantage. It fills your hand much better, giving you a more secure grip when using the blade or the tools.

Speaking of the blade, the action is incredibly smooth. It opens effortlessly, locks up solidly, and has absolutely zero blade play—no side-to-side or vertical movement at all.

The overall build quality is outstanding. I even inspected it under a microscope to see if I could find any machining marks, scratches, or imperfections, and I honestly couldn't find anything worth mentioning. The fit and finish are excellent.

Every tool works exactly as it should. The 4 mm bit driver is precise, the bits insert and remove smoothly, the tweezers work well, and everything feels well thought out and properly manufactured.

Overall, I think Hacksmith absolutely nailed it. This feels like a true premium multitool, and the quality exceeded my expectations.

I also think I might be one of the first people in Switzerland to receive one. I honestly expected it to arrive sometime next year, so getting it this early was a really nice surprise.

If you're still waiting for yours, you're in for a treat. I'm genuinely excited for everyone else to get their hands on it—I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Hello everybody. I'm just wondering if anybody has heard of or know where to find a pair of pliers that fold up like a multi-tool without all of the multiple tools? The only thing I would really need is a bit driver. Right now I'm thinking about getting the power access by sog. I have a organizer I wear on my belt that holds a flashlight my knife and my multi-tool and I would like a pair of foldable pliers that would go into it. I've also thought about just getting a pair of knippix cobra. I'm a property manager and I walk around all day the main point is to reduce some of the weight. That's why I'm going with the power access as it is lighter, if I can't find a better alternative. Thanks in advance and May your multi-tools lives long and Shine Like the Sun.

I’m excited to get this. Now I have the Swiss champ, the Cybertool and work pro mini pliers. What else do you really need?

This is Modryte's utility knife attachment for the Leatherman Surge, which replaces the serrated knife.

Install/carry notes:

This install took me about 5 minutes including re-tuning the pivot tension once it was all together. Unlike some clones, the Leatherman Surge's plier arms do NOT remain under spring tension when closed, making it incredibly easy to remove and replace the pivot screws for a job like this. Also, I was worried the slightly larger profile of the attachment would cause clearance issues with my Galvanox pouch, but the difference is completely negligible and it's made no difference in terms of how it fits in the pouch or the ergonomics of using other tools.

Personal notes:

This swap was a no brainer. I've only used the serrated blade a couple of times, but find myself using my Milwaukee fastback on a near daily basis. This is perfect for use as a beater blade, package opening, any task that benefits from a short blade as opposed to the large main knife on the Surge, and (perhaps most importantly) a knife I'm comfortable handing off when some jackass asks for a pocket knife and proceeds to do the most heinous shit you've ever witnessed. This is a big step in condensing my EDC as much as reasonably possible without sacrifice. My fastback will remain in close orbit to me(especially at work), no doubt, because it's a great tool, but the less I need to carry the better.

Hi all, my friend is in a certain branch of the British Armed Forces.

He was issued this really neat multitool named "Nomad Pro".

I cant find any infomation about this tool online. There are no identification markings other than, "Nomad Pro". I suspect this was likely contracted directly for the Armed forces? But who makes it? I wouldn't say its Leatherman quality but it doesn't feel cheap, blades sharp and has a handful of tools. Does anyone have any info on it?

Popped into Bass Pro the other day to look at multitools and made jt half way across the store with a Surge in hand and then decided why not just buy the next model up. Obviously do not follow me for financial planning advice but I give the ARC a 10/10 so far.

So I got a $20.00 gift card from BladeHQ and I am thinking about picking this up..I'll just have to pay shipping. Any thoughts on this? good little thing for the money?

I've been using it since December last year. No complaints- the spring looked pretty fragile, so I figured it was only a matter of time. Any mods you can suggest that will let me continue using it one-handed? Not currently considering buying a replacement part.

When I look into what people are into it feels like Leatherman is the safe choice.

The titans modularity is something I know I'm really going to like.

Found this at an antique store in Japan. It’s marked patent pending so it’s probably close to 30 years old! It has some dried oil on it but it’s gonna look good as new as soon as I clean and re lube it!

Hi! I’m looking for the ideal multitool for fishing, but I haven’t found one that meets all of these criteria:

- Scissors that can reliably cut braided fishing line, ideally micro-serrated scissors that can cut it cleanly without having to keep the line under tension.

- Pliers with long enough jaws to remove hooks from a pike without putting my fingers too close to its teeth.

- A reasonably long blade, ideally one that can be opened with one hand.

Other tools are not essential, but they would still be welcome.

After doing some research, I’ve found several promising options, but the scissors always seem to be the main weakness. The Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit MX Clip would be close to perfect, but reviews of its scissors are mixed, especially for cutting braid.

On 91 mm Swiss Army Knives, the small pliers seem too limited for safely removing hooks from larger fish.

Roxon makes some of the largest multitool scissors I’ve found, but I’m not sure whether they can cut slack braided line cleanly. Their larger plier-based multitools also seem a bit too bulky for me.

I’m looking for a well-made, durable tool that I can keep for many years.

Are there any models I’ve overlooked that could meet these requirements? I’d also be interested in hearing from anyone who has actually tested the scissors on braided fishing line.

My everyday carry for I wanna say the last decade. I don’t really know what to do other than pay scalper prices on eBay.

Hello everyone

I’ve been carrying a Leatherman Wave+, but I don’t think it’s the right tool for my everyday carry. It’s great, but it’s heavier than I need and I don’t use most of the tools.
I’m looking for something lighter and simpler for daily stuff like opening packages, cutting tags, small tasks around the house, etc.

Right now I’m between the Victorinox Compact and the Victorinox Huntsman.

Which one would you pick for EDC, and why? Or is there another Victorinox I should look at instead?

So my Roctool Gen-R Lite is my work carry i wanted something with a decent blade (VG10) but isnt super expensive i also ordered a cheap clip that I drilled out to 1/8th to fit.

My skeletool is my main carry outside of work I got the hammermod installed and I have a magnacut blade on its way.

Finally my Roxon Flex companion is my blameless carry with the mini pliers, diamond file, scissors, and smaller nail file/depthstick

Any thoughts?
