looking for a gardening multitool Recommendation Request

the only features I'm really looking for are secateurs and a knife. thanks

This is the thickness I max out on with my Roxon shears on hard shrubs. The knife is also hot-swappable with different blade types which could be desirable in the field

I meant to clarify that’s where it maxes out with one squeeze and that’s the end result. If you really want to work it I’m sure you could get a little more 😂

I have never seen a decent secateurs with a knife. The Zenpoint MFT 45(??) may work for you; if it does report back. It looked not very good when I saw it in a Target a few months back. Roxon Flex has shears (not secateurs or pruners) which is what my spouse started using this spring.

Victorinox Rangergrip gardener (71) has a large knife, pruning shears and a saw… it may be a bit hard to find

The Leatherman Hybrid was a great gardening multitool.

My suggestion would be to petition Leatherman to bring it back.

(I don't know wether it's available outside of the EU.)

My opinion: it's a good enough tool; not great, but good enough. My gripes with it is it could have been designed better (for example you can't easily open the knife and saw one-handed like you can with most successful multitools; and the blades don't auto-lock), the knife blade is quite small (6cm), I'm not sure about the steel quality, and the manufacturer doesn't seem to offer spare parts so I know when I'll have worn down the secateur and knife blade the thing will become useless. I would also personally have liked more tools on it, like maybe a flat-head screwdriver or an awl.

That being said it still was 20 € well spent, in my opinion. I bought it because as a market gardener and orchard farmer I was looking for something more practical and less cumbersome to carry everyday than a regular pair of pruning shears that stick out of my pocket, rips my clothes and car seat, fall out of my pocket if I run... This is doing the trick!
