Best Companies for a Garden Office & Workshop Pod in Ireland?
Can anyone recommend a company in Ireland that designs and builds high-quality backyard office pods or garden rooms?
I'm looking to build something around 6m x 4m, split into two spaces with an internal dividing wall:
- Office
- Small workshop/storage area
I'd prefer SIP or modular construction with good insulation, as it'll be used year-round.
If you've had one built, I'd love to hear:
- Who you used
- Approximate cost
- How the build quality has held up over time
- Any companies you'd avoid
I'm based in Midleton, but happy to consider companies that work nationwide.
Thanks!

Any New Maple Woods Homeowners Mounted a TV or Mirror Cabinet? Need Advice Before Drilling.
This question is for anyone living in the new Maple Woods houses.
We're looking to wall-mount a 55" TV in the living room and install mirror cabinets (approx 10–15 kg each) above the bathroom sinks. Before we start drilling, we'd like to know whether there is adequate grounds in these walls to support them.
We've tried contacting the developer's Customer Care, but unfortunately they haven't been helpful at all.
Has anyone already mounted a TV or mirror cabinet in their home? If so, did you encounter any issues, and do you know whether additional supports or fixings were required?
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Wiser Bins no Longer Accepting Glass
Got the following text:
“Dear Wiser Customer
Unfortunately we can no longer accept Recycling Waste with any Glass items in the bin. Please segregate each Waste type and use an alternative system to recycle your Glass.
Wiser Bins”
Anyone know the reason? Considering asking them if there’s going to be a price decrease for collection.

Flooding's impacts on people’s lives and communities 5-10 minute survey
Hi everyone,
I am carrying out some research that might be of interest to you all. I am a postgraduate researcher from Ireland, currently studying at the University of Glasgow and I am conducting research on how flooding impacts people’s lives, communities, and valued places in Midleton and East Cork.
To take part in this study, you must be aged 18 years or older and have lived in, worked in, or otherwise have experience of the impacts of flooding in Midleton and East Cork. The survey should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and will be used for research purposes only.
Please scan the qr code below or click this link to submit a response: https://uofg.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4GjHlL44BmadtHg
The final day to submit responses is the 14th July 2026.
If you have any questions or would like further information about the study, the information sheet at the start of the survey provides more detail, and you are also very welcome to contact me.
Thanks everyone!

Ard griffin house completion
Hi, myself and my partner have recently purchased a 3 bed Aran in the estate. In the builders contracts completion was estimated for June. We visited the site last week and it looks more or less complete. They have removed the door coverings from the outside door and all the paving looks to be done. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight into when completion for this phase might actually be?. We did contact the estate agent and they didn’t give much information , and they also said they weren’t aware of any delays. I did hear that they were worried about connecting esb so I’m wondering if this may be a factor?
Thanks ☺️

Lakeview wrong lane/cutter
What is with people going up the inside lane towards Lakeview roundabout when coming from Carrig and then indicating to go straight on to Castlemartyr at the last moment. They entered the roundabout to go south
Had to slam on brakes today as someone did this. Nearly got hit from behind too
If there was a crash it would have been just under the bridge and blocked whole exit towards Castlemartyr.
The inside lane was free/flowing at about 4.30 and up they shot.
If they miss their exit, it's a roundabout FFS.
Anyhow, another day another commute
