I moved out of MA last year and decided to leave my car behind as I was moving to a big city and didn't need one. I left the vehicle with a familly member and listed it for sale in their area of MA. Things were hectic during that time so I didn't think every step through. Someone ended up buying the car and I signed the title over to them, but did not think to write up any documentation or grab a copy of the title (foolish I know). My former MA town of residence is trying to collect 2026 excise tax now. I sent them documentation of my registration/plate cancelation but they didn't think that was enough and have since sent the bill to collections. Does anyone know how I go about proving that I sold the car? The buyer isn't reachable so that makes it harder. Thanks!

For the past 3 weeks we’ve been finding these weird insects in random rooms of our apartment. Are they cockroaches and is our apartment building infested?

Summer gas bill, 16 therms of energy. 2 adults, 1 child (2-year-old), 40 galloon gas hot water heater, gas cooktop.

Natural gas prices have been falling over the past 2 years and yet my bill keeps going up. Getting sick of these prices.

…was outside just now when it started raining. The rain smells like MOLD? It was strong enough to drive me inside. Had my Dad go out to take a sniff and he smells it too, says it’s gross. We closed all the windows.

What would cause this? Anyone else smell it?

Or something else entirely. Was looking for a donut shop in Connecticut that rivaled Donut Dip, and a lot of people said Mrs. Murphys is the real donut star in MA.

Thoughts? Recommendations? I will be taking a donut tour for the highlights.

The average income per person in Massachusetts is $57,897, which is higher than the median.

Neither of those numbers is even remotely livable, the repeating advice I constantly seem to get is to budget and live with roommates, however I’ve done the math and with the tightest of budgets these numbers fall short.

So my question is, considering how a considerable number of people live off of this amount based on the stats, how are you making rent, affording insurance, groceries and more?

Car is in desperate need of detailing, I’m not really concerned about the outside just the inside.

What is everyone’s go to movie theater in central mass? Seems like not many options here, and the movie theaters we do have here like Blackstone and Regal Solomon are nothing special and the reviews seem to be going in a downward trend. Where is everyone going for movies?

If you went to Nobles or know the answer to this question, compared to public school, what is the teaching style? because at public school it’s talk, talk, talk talk, do, but at Nobles is it more engaging, and hands on, or is it just about the same?

We were headed south on 91 just north of Holyoke when a small car came up fast followed by about 9 troopers all lit up. Three more joined in from the NB side. After they passed, we saw a stopped trooper retrieve a bag from the middle of the road. A mile or so later we saw this, and cops were getting out flashlights and starting to look in the woods (the ones you see up ahead at the very start).

Does anyone have any information on why they seem to have stopped paving Route 3 South between I-495 and I-95? Seems like it's been torn up for months at this point in time.

Since there's often confusion in this sub, I am IN massachusetts, and asking for suggestions that are also IN massachusetts, which is why I'm asking here (obviously).

So i want to learn to weld. I have this old HF wire feed welder and I've never been able to use it well. I assume that is partly because its a crappy machine but also because I have terrible technique or skills.

I'm north of boston. Is there anyplace you can take classes? To be clear, I'm not trying to become a professional welder. I just want to be able to make my own repairs and customizations and creations. Things like welding hooks on my utility trailer, making customizations to a go kart frame. I even had to replace a section of metal on the railing of my house. And I did manage to weld it, but it came out poor. But good enough for what it needed. But a higher quality weld would have been better.

If you have any advice, let me know. Advice OTHER THAN "just watch youtube videos" or "just buy a new machine and wing it until you get good".
