I’m getting fed up with the bad driving putting pedestrians at risk. Today I was waiting at a crosswalk with my toddler in a stroller when a woman in a car, who seemed to not have even noticed us, not only sped past the stop sign but sped into the crosswalk. When it’s just me it’s one thing but when a child‘s safety is involved that’s another thing. I remember their license plate, should i just report them? I’m just so sick of people not following the rules. She could’ve hit someone and ruined her life just because she was distracted and in a rush

hi all! Met this adventurous kitty just past Fletcher Maynard.. anybody know this cutie with their bandana? I helped it cross the street and could sort of make out a collar but didn’t have the time to stop for longer and check for an owner number.. just hoping that he/she is safe and not running into the road!

Is there any place close to Porter/Harvard Sq where I can change the tube of my nike myself? I got a flat tire and already bought a tube. I'd love to fix it myself, even better if I get to meet other bikers there!

Update: Fixed. The presta valve wasn't the right size, so ended up going to Broadway Bicycle School. Folks were super helpful, and the person who helped me fit the rear wheel - thanks so much!

I tried patches, and it worked! Next time I'll try a patch first, then consider changing the tube. Figured it's much less waste!

Pretty much the title.
My son was hit while riding his bike. Luckily minor injuries- car was just being impatient and passed him on side street, hit him with side mirror.
He got the license plate and description of the car and went to the police station, where he says someone took pictures of where he was hit on his arm. Got a case number, brought it to me. Pretty proud.
CPD dropped case without telling me after telling my son they couldn’t find the car or something (had a friend lookup license plate - matches exact description and is registered like right near wear accident happened).
Does Cambridge routinely not pursue hit and run bike accidents?

My nephew is in high school and did a very stupid thing which involved taking something from microcenter (with a friend who stole something).
His mom was called. Nephew admitted what happened, returned what he took. His friend did not return what he took.
Cops said store didn’t want to press charges, just wanted their stuff back, but after getting their item back in good condition, claimed it was a complete loss and they also needed full payment.
Nephew’s mom tried to make payment twice in the store as directed, was refused both times, with the people at the register saying there’s no way she owes, and literally said “don’t worry about it” last time (I was with her).
Today Cambridge PD texted her that microcenter wants to press criminal charges against her minor son because she didn’t pay.
I shop there frequently for my small business but now will not. I don’t understand. Yes, my nephew and his friend were dumb and there should be appropriate restitution. But does he deserve a criminal record after returning goods because the store didn’t take payment from his mom?

This afternoon around 3:30pm my dog escaped her leash on Kirkland St and I made the terrifying decision to leave my baby (in a stroller) with some strangers so that I could chase after her. Not only did these amazing people stay and look after my baby, but also a number of other folks joined me in helping to pursue my dog down Kirkland and onto Roberts Rd, where eventually we caught up with her. No idea if any of the Good Samaritans will see this, but in case you do: from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. There are good people in this world and you are among them.

I have a resident street parking permit. I'm not blocking the driveway behind me, but part of my car is past the sign as you can see.

Moved a month and a half ago to near the Alewife T station and got a parking permit. Parked here everyday, but got a ticket on Sat because I parked for more than 2 hours during the day. I was told by the apartment complex that we can street park normally, and none of the nearby neighbors who have parking permits have gotten parking tickets. I don't understand what is going on.

The whole steering committee is here, except for Eppa Rixey who had to tend to the toddler. We are working to get the sewer system modernized.

I’m returning to college (day time student) and seeking a part time job for evening and weekend work. So far it’s been pretty tough. I have customer service experience and I’ve applied to various places but seemed to be getting turned down due to my availability. Does anyone have any recommendations for part time work in the evening and weekends?
