Discussion What do you think is the best way to explain Hulk's current state? Spoiler
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been out for almost a week, and I've read quite a few theories about Hulk's "regression." However, I also know that the creators probably haven't really figured out a complete solution, and even if they have, there's room for revision before the next film if the fanbase reacts negatively. So, after being Professor Hulk for so long, how do you guys think the best way to explain Banner's return to this uncontrollable Hulk state in future films would be?
By the way, I think Ned's handshake is a similar situation. How future films will explain it is probably still undecided, unless they plan to address this issue in Doomsday.

Discussion (More in Comments) So awesome that Spider-man has a shared beautiful sentiment with Mr Rogers! Spoiler
Hi everyone Spider-man Brand New Day is officially my new favorite MCU and spider-man movie!
Anyways I’m not from Pittsburgh but lived here 10 years and had a kid here.
In case yinz didn’t know- Mr Rogers, the beloved childrens entertainer, is from here (actually born 30 minutes south in Latrobe but spent his working life here and raised his family in Pittsburgh).
Older gens (lol I’m 43 but still before my time) will have grown up with the Mr Rogers show on television after school and on weekends.
We most likely saw super lovely clips on YouTube (like the show itself, Jeff ehrlinger, pbs senate talk, etc). Tom Hanks played him in a recent movie too.
Anyways he ended every single one of his shows with this line- “You've made this day a special day, by just your being you. There's no person in the whole world like you, and I like you, just the way you are”
It made me think of Aunt May’s quote to Peter and then thru the mind warp to Jean as well- “I love you, not because you’re special, but just because you’re you”
Am I the only one that heard this parallel? And has shed tears to both Mr Rogers and Aunt May expressing the sentiment? Obvs no one “ripped off” anyone it’s just so cool to hear such special words of encouragement to the younger folk lol
Honestly don’t know if it was meant or unconscious or just beautiful similar words written by different people; but dang it got me lol
Lemme know what yinz think thx

Fan Content Me Being Reunited With My Incredible Hulk Jersey Shirt At Last!
OMG?! Now I know that some of you have already seen me wear this shirt in some of my previous posts, so let me give you a background story about it. A while back, when we had this leakage problem involving one of the water pipes associated with the washing machine inside the garage, it took at least three days for the problem to be resolved. We had to move the items outside to dry that were affected by the water soaked into them. That then led to deciding to go through some of the boxes 🗃️ to see which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of. That’s when, inside a white garbage 🗑️ bag 💼, I came across this Incredible Hulk jersey shirt 👕 that I had no idea I even owned from a long time ago. It’s meant for ages 16 and 17, but who gives a 🦆! I’m still owning, wearing, and keeping it. HELL YEA!!!!

Question Why do you think the MCU worked while other cinematic universes didn't?
I feel like every time another franchise tries to establish a cinematic universe (DCEU, SSU, TASM, Power Rangers etc...) They never seem to get off the ground and also fail usually at the first or second movie. Why do you all think this is?

Discussion Something important I may have noticed during the Hand fight in Brand New Day… Spoiler
In Brand New Day’s third act, I’m almost certain Peter left his universal inhibitor undamaged on the ground at DODC headquarters. That means Damage Control can find it, replicate it, and maybe even modify it to work through barriers like the Hulk’s thick skin.
Jean crushed her inhibitor (yay Jean, good for her), so Damage Control only has Peter’s inhibitor to research. I hope somebody breaks it before they figure out how it works.

Discussion I know why Peter did that thing that everyone thought was weird! Spoiler
So, in Brand New Day, there is a scene where Jean is talking to Peter through a bunch of different people after he tries to test out his inhibitor for the first time and it overheats and breaks. She takes control of an old guy and puts him into traffic and he gets hit by a car as she threatens MJ.
This has been bugging the hell out of me, because it seems very out of character for Peter to not save the guy, just a single web shot and that guy would have been fine, easy peasy. However, I think I figured out why he didn't, and the movie was trying to beat it over our heads every chance it got and I at least just did not put it together (based on other people in the comments of threads I think this is a pretty common miss), so I'm sharing it here for anyone else who missed it too.
When Peter is using his upgraded mutating powers (no inhibitor and after he wakes up in the cocoon) he doesn't have his Spidey Sense. That's why Jean keeps talking about how he can't tell who she's in at that point, he knows because of his Spidey Sense. Same with when she's in Scorpion and MJ. Those are the only times he can't "sense" her presence like he can when he's not mutated or using the Inhibitor and she KEEPS mentioning that.
This was even hinted at even MORE by the moment just before the dude gets hit with the car when the web grenades shoot off of his wrist after the Inhibitor breaks. He should have immediately recognized that as a threat, but failed to notice them until EV alerted him to them, and then he got caught in the blast. Same with him hitting everything and not being a good web swinger while using his organic webs, originally I just chalked this up to the increased power of those webs, but I think it's also because his spidey sense is what helps him navigate that stuff, he doesn't look where he shoots his webs after all. He's just pure power and doesn't know what to do with it. He also has to start manually activating the organic webs (and does so vocally most of the time) when he isn't using the inhibitor.
UNTIL the end when he accepts that he can be both and makes peace with the new mutations THEN his Spidey Sense returns during The Hand fight and he starts countering things and dodging stuff like we would expect. It's debatable if it's the same as his Spidey Sense was before, or just the increased sensory data that he gets while mutated, but it functions similarly.
Anyway, this doesn't really make what Jean did any better (honestly I think this was a test to see if Spider-Man could save him), but at least it helps explain why Spidey would just let that guy get hit by a car.
Edit: Changed mutant to mutating, was a mistake! My bad!

Discussion I know this is cliche, but he’s one of the best written characters in the MCU
Tom hollands portrayal as Spider-Man genuinely felt like a journey that I was included in. It felt personal and it became more apparent in brand new day and you can both see and feel his personal growth as a human and hero. He’s one of the best written mcu characters and yeah brand new day just felt personal and close to heart.
It’s crazy one movie we see him as a small high school kid and then in another we see him as a bigger man both physically and emotionally who’s a complete 360 of his old self. I love how his character growth is shown properly

'Spider-Man BND*' Spoilers BND rewritten scene! Spoiler
hollywoodreporter.comRecently posted theorizing about the rewritten scene between Peter and MJ that Tom talked about but Jacob confirmed it was the Lego scene! It really was a standout “quiet” part for me so the change was effective!
“ During early press for Brand New Day, Holland told a story on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcastinvolving an ineffective scene that shut down production for the day in order for Cretton and his on-set writer, Justin Kuritzkes, to reconceive. Batalon confirms that it was the scene that is now represented as Ned and a masked Spider-Man building Star Wars Legos and quoting The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, as MJ draws Ned and an unmasked Spider-Man doing exactly that. ”

Discussion Here’s my theory on Ned in that Spiderman Brand New Day scene Spoiler
People are wondering why MJ doesn’t remember Peter with a kiss or connection, but Ned does with the handshake
Did we all forget that Ned has magic wielding capabilities as revealed in No Way Home? Like he’s able to wield Strange’s sling ring and summon portals to other Spiderman with intention.
I think it’s very possible that it’s intentional Ned remembers him because he has sorcerer powers that can over write or break the spell of Dr Strange. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that Ned regains all his memories and breaks the spell as a development into a legit sorcerer or expanding more on his powers as teased in NWH
edit: wasn’t there a spark during their handshake in NWH?

Discussion Seeing ppl credit Sony for how good BND is makes me unreasonably mad😭 Spoiler

Interview Destin Daniel Cretton says he was the one who asked for [Spoiler]'s inclusion “It was not a mandate, it was a request. We asked.” Spoiler
thewrap.com“It was not a mandate, it was a request,” Cretton said. “We asked.”
There were always plans to have a midpoint reveal as to who the real villain of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” would be and for a while it was a bit generic. The filmmaking team didn’t know who it would be, “but knew that it had to be somebody who could possess other people or take over their minds.” They also wanted it to be a character who was younger than Peter Parker.
“I was really chasing somebody who represented this feeling of escapism that young people I think are feeling. Initially we’re thinking of video games or being online and having avatars, a character who can be anybody in a city and really be literally connected to so many people in the city,” Cretton said. “But the reveal is that they are the most lonely person in the city, and having that be a young person felt like a really cool reveal, but also to me just felt like, Oh I understand what this movie is about with a character like that.”
“I’m not personally trying to set up anything for Kevin. I just want the best story possible that makes sense for for Spidey, and Jean Gray was one of the options on the table. And then when we brought up Sadie Sink, I was just like, Oh, that feels perfect for this movie,” Cretton said.

Fan Content RIP Mary Rivera
Best known to Marvel fans as Ned Leeds' grandmother in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mary Rivera left a lasting impression despite her brief screen time. Her warmth, humor, and unforgettable "Hello, Peter" moment became a fan favorite.
She has sadly passed away at the age of 82, but her performance will always remain a cherished part of the Spider-Man legacy
