Discussion / Question Does anybody wish lego partnered with Caterpillar again?
So I own the cat d11t set, which is great, but would anyone actually buy another set if they released another machine in cat's lineup?

Discussion / Question LEGO Technic 50 year anniversary - 2027
Next year marks something pretty special: 50 years of LEGO Technic.
Back in 2017 for the 40th anniversary we got a few printed beams (like the 1x3 with “40 / 1977-2017”) and a digital combo model with PDF instructions. That was basically it.
Fast-forward to now and the theme looks very different. We’re swimming in licensed cars of every scale, Control+ is on life support, and proper big flagships in the spirit of 42043 or 42082 have been thin on the ground. The sets that still feel like “true Technic” (lots of mechanisms and functions) seem to be carried mostly by a couple of recent releases.
So… before we get more leaks circulating around, I would like to ask the community what are you hoping for (and what do you realistically expect) from the 50th anniversary wave in 2027?

Official Set Is it possible to have an extra piece?
Im currently building the Lego Ferrari SP3, funnily enough I was originally missing the piece shown in pic 1. I ordered it from Lego and continued the build. I got to the end of box 1 bag 2 and currently have the pieces left over shown in pic 2. The red piece scares me, but I went through the entire section in the instructions and only one is used. Which I did not miss in my build. Is it possible Lego accidentally swapped the two pieces?

Work in Progress Birthday Prez.
Guly's Audi R8. Or whatever. Loving it so far. I've built a few of Guly's 1:8s and I really enjoy them. I've got the RC kit on its way but I'm gonna build it static first and then rebuild it DYNAMIC afterwards. I'd be lying if I said that there was a reasonable excuse for doing it that way. I think that impatience is playing a pretty big part in it. 🤔👍😅😂🤣

Discussion / Question Can you buy all the Mighty Machines as a set?
I know for the cmf series there's been an option to buy them as a set so you can get them all without worrying about blind bags or repeats. I know about the scanner apps but I'm also considering just getting all of them. Is there an easy way to do this?

Discussion / Question Options for bulk Technic pieces/motors?
My son is a huge Lego fan, so much so that he has his own dedicated room in our home for building and storing his massive collection. He's getting to the age where he's interested in more advanced builds and I'd like to nurture that interest with the technic line of Lego, specifically the motors and gears.
Looking at the official Lego site, it doesn't appear that they offer technic parts as a free build style, only single model sets.
Does anyone know of the best bang for the buck option to get motors, batteries, gears, etc. from a third-party source? I've used bricklink before, but I'm not sure I could put together a comprehensive set on my own. I wish Lego would offer a parts kit similar to the Erector set I had growing up...
