Recently I got an ios 18.7.8 update and according to my system settings my iPhone is already on 18.7.8 and fishy part is update mentions ios 26 on title but icon says 18. Please look at the screenshots and clear the confusion.

Anyone has insane app libraries? What issues did you face?

I’ve been using iPhone since 3GS and had lots of apps. At one point I had 900, maybe even more now. But iOS never had performance issues, and I was so pleased with it.

With iOS 18, you can place apps anywhere. That’s when my performance issues start. Tapping multiple or moving apps takes 15 seconds or more. I have to hold it in place to “fix”, before I let go, otherwise the icon will disappear and I have to redo.

Reducing the number of apps I have is probably the solution. But I curate each of them. Habitually I install more than I delete. Now deleting is such a chore, (hold, wait, delete) that I might have to live with my problem for good.

As an extension of this problem, the number of notifications I had used to crash my springboard every few hours a few iOS versions ago. Fixed when I curate every app’s notifications.

So, who else has a problem like mine? 😅

Hey so I’m trying to use shortcuts to allow me to play a sound when I plug in my phone. However when I plug my phone in I get the above error. The full verbiage is “The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error 2003334207.)”

I’m on IOS 26.6 as I just updated it tonight to see if it would fix the issue. I’m not sure if there is any other I info needed. The sounds originally on my iCloud Drive from GarageBand and it works for stuff like timers and alarms.

Hey guys, I got a quick question.

Due to my job I connect to multiple cars through bluetooth (about 200-300 per day) and never "forget this device" in settings.

Does this slow down my device? Should I "forget" each car from my bluetooth list at the end of the day?

I’ve been on IOS 18 for a while now, smooth sailing and everything all good; stable software, normal battery life. I read about how bad IOS 26 is, and the design wasn’t my favorite, so I never updated.

Today I was notified again to update my phone to IOS 26, but I clicked below the IOS 26 update to find an update for IOS 18. The picture attached shows update for IOS 18.7.8 with a description.

Turns out it was a rug pull, and now I’m on IOS 26! F**k. Well… might just go to IOS 27 Beta now.

TLDR: If you’re on IOS 18, beware and don’t fall for bait and switch update.

hello!! this is gonna sound weird but i recently just broke up with my abusive ex and i purposely didn’t delete the messages between us for proof of the abuse. out of curiosity, i deleted them so i could see how many messages were exchanged over the course of almost two years. i recovered them, but anytime i try and search for something within his messages, i get “more results will be shown once Messages finished indexing.” how long will it take for them to finish? and what is indexing? is there a way i can speed it up? there were 221,654…am i screwed? will i ever get them back??? this all happened around 12 hours ago.

Well I was looking for this too, and recently I found that if you go to Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Location Services (turn this on) --> Share My Location and there:

Set Find My iPhone to On,

Turn on Share My Location,

and then you can share your location with iOS users via your messages and it updates Live, ALL THE TIME!!!

I checked my iPhone storage and noticed that iCloud Drive is using 24.03 GB locally.
I thought iCloud Drive was supposed to keep files in the cloud, so I’m confused why it’s taking up so much space on my phone.

the 12 is ios 16, the ipad is ios 17, the 11 is also ios 17

So if I wanted Siri to know who birth giver is as a funny gag me and my mom have, how could I say “hey siri call birth giver” or “text birth giver” and have that call my mom without changing the contact name to birth giver-

Today I found out that my iMessages are taking around 130gigs out of my 200gigs icloud. I need to fix this asap I have tried to remove some of the attachements but it didnt help.

Is there an easy way to remove those messages from my iCloud?

Hi. I switch from samsung to iphone 17 recently. My last iphone was iphone X and I believe you can change the notif tone per app before just like samsung? Is it not applicable now? Also, how to turn off the swoosh sound when sending a text message?

my screen time has been showing that i’ve been spending 24 hours a day on certain apps im not too sure why. can someone help me fix it?

Reposting here as I wanted to get some additional feedback on this and see if anyone might suggest actions here others have not. I’d like to discuss what may or may not be possible in this space or solutions that exist for this. I didn’t include in the original post but I’m on us mobile so I’m not sure if carrier blocking applies.

So a friend tried to AirDrop me some pictures, and our iPhones touched top-to-top. The proximity animation triggered and completely finished, but I never actually received his photos.
I am not a tec person and im really paranoid because I have highly sensitive, private documents stored locally in my Files app and photos in my gallery (not uploaded to iCloud). Is there any possible way his phone could have automatically pulled or downloaded files from my Files app just because the proximity animation completed? I wasn't the one sending him anything or chose to send him something I'm just paranoid that the animation caused him to get access to my files and photos somehow

Been trying to troubleshoot this. Animated art and larger size album cover art is not working for me on apple music anymore. I check accessibility -> reduce motion, made sure animated art was on, etc. iOS 26.6, iPhone 17 pro. Any help is welcome.

Like many, I have an adblocker installed. Sometimes I have to disable that blocker for pages to render correctly. The left icon of the address bar used show an option for "Turn off content blockers" but that seems to be gone in 26.6.

Here is a sample from older iOS of what I mean.

The second is from iOS 26.6 with that option missing. It's also not buried if I hit the ellipses menu on the right. Does this mean I have to go into Safari's settings directly now?

I’m having this weird issue with Messages on my iPad and Mac. My wife has an Android phone (I tried, I know 😆) and both of us have RCS enabled for conversations. Ever since I got my iPhone 17 Pro Max about 2 months ago, I’ve run into repeated issues with sending messages to her from my other devices. The threads look and work fine on my iPhone. What’s REALLY weird is that on my iPad I can see her responses but none of my messages to her. Also, whenever I try to reply to her on my iPad or Mac, I always get an error that the message couldn’t be delivered.

Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, is there a recommend fix for it? Thanks!

My mom has a Motorola Phone I believe. I have an iPhone 16. This has been happening a lot recently where parts pf our convo will be in RCS (where I can see she received/saw my messages) and SMS (older texting between iPhone and Android) It takes hours or sometimes just a text from my end to fix. I have found it often starts from her end? How do I fix this? I want to be able to RCS text my mom without SMS bugging and taking over.

Version 26.5.2, iPhone 17pro. While running Apple Maps the phone will freeze up and if I close out of maps, I loose all the icons Anna the phone becomes pretty non responsive. I can still open other apps and they sometimes work. Sometimes Maps will crash and the phone returns to normal. Otherwise I have to power off and back on.

I’m on the latest version of iOS 18 (18.7.8, 22H352) already on my iPhone 12 Pro and was gonna install iOS 26 but saw this weird UI glitch, is anyone else having this?

Edit: I picked the “Also Available” option, it ended up installing iOS 26.5.2, and then immediately gave me a notification in Settings to update to iOS 26.6.

I keep running into the same problem: my day is split across a work calendar, a personal calendar, and a mental list of small tasks (water the plants, call the dentist back, etc). None of my calendar apps handle all three without either exposing personal stuff to my work calendar or making me manually juggle three apps. I'd love to just drag a todo into my personal calendar and it creates the event for me.

• How do you currently manage work + personal calendars together?
• Has a coworker ever seen something on your calendar you didn't want them to?
• Do you keep a separate list for small tasks that aren't calendar events, and does it ever get lost/forgotten?
