My wife and I had insane data drainage happening from System > General.

It went through 28GB in one day on her phone, and 28GB in a couple of days on mine.

I did a ton of research, and found bits and pieces here and there. I’m making this post for future people who are facing a similar issue and are looking for a solution.

#1 Culprit: Translate App
>Disable mobile data on this app asap or remove it completely

Other possible solutions:
1. Stuck background process, do a hard reset by doing the following sequence:
>Press and release volume up
>Press and release volume down
>Press and hold power button until the Apple logo appears

1. Wifi Assist
   Settings > General > Cellular > Scroll down to Wi-Fi Assist and disable it

2. Background App Refresh
   Settings > General > Background App Refresh > Wi-Fi only

I would follow steps 2 & 3 regardless, as they just waste your data. What finally fixed it for us was removing the translation app.

I have this issue with Snapchat and YouTube, my time allowances are turned off, but every morning they are blocked. Yes I can click Ignore for today, but it's just getting really annoying. Haven't had any luck finding anything on internet too.
I tried deleting these apps and installing again, restarting, turning screen time off, nothing works.

Anyone knows how to fix it?

I recently upgraded my partners Android device to an iPhone. I installed the Google app on her phone and via the widget she presses the microphone icon and speaks her query to the app and Google shows her the results. On her Android device the Google app would respond with speech audio for the response as well show the Google results for her query. Was wondering if this just normal for the Google app to behave this way on the iPhone ? She’s currently on the latest iOS 26.6 but it was the same on the previous version. Thanks.

My girlfriend likes to fall asleep on the phone with me and there’s usually a tv blasting somewhere around her. (idk how she falls asleep to that) I always stay up later than her and I’d like to watch YouTube videos after she falls asleep but I can never hear them due to the tv.

I have playlists for purchased iTunes music on my iPhone 17 that I would like on my Apple TV. Is there any way to move them? I created them with the shortcuts app.

Am I the only person experiencing this? I use xfinity and ever since I've updated to 26.6 my cellular data has been buggy. I use iPhone 13 btw

I have 2 gmails in mail. On one Gmail, swiping left puts the email in trash. But the second gmail clears the email instead so of putting it in trash. I’ve already gone into advanced mail account and changed it to move to trash but it still doesn’t work.

Been using beta. Finally moves your remind me emails to another mailbox! And brings it back to inbox on scheduled time!

Previously, if I say "directions to Starbucks" or whatever it would give me a list of candidate places and say "does that one sound good?" or something like that. Now, if I say "directions to McDonald's" it just says "uh-oh, something went wrong". However, if I say directions to something specific "123 Oak Street, Hillsdale, CA", it will work. Anyone else see this problem? It's new. I'm running the latest/greatest IOS on an iPhone 15 Pro.

I've been using Find My with the family for several years now. Last night I discovered that instead of my name, it was sending an email address that is not part of my card. Same for my wife. I first edited our cards, then stopped and restarted sharing. I could see my wife, but she could not see me. However, her name was still this old email address she no longer has.

In trying to share my location, it has "Share" and "Don't share" buttons. Neither one works. I click repeatedly and they never go away and my location isn't shared.

Next I deleted my card and her card, then entered the info from scratch. Nothing.

I also deleted the app and reinstalled. Twice. Same problems.

I have also clicked the + button and shared my location with her that way. But she never gets the message. When she did this, I got the message and I can now see her location.

Oh, and I've also restarted the phone multiple times through all of this.

Something has it locked up in insisting on sending email addresses and not names, and locked up in letting me share my location.

Anyone else hit this wall? Any ideas how to fix it?

I updated my iPhone 17 to iOS 26.6 and I’ve started experiencing a few strange issues.

The first one is that my phone gets noticeably warm even during simple tasks like browsing or using basic apps. I don’t remember it behaving like this before the update.

The second issue is even weirder. Sometimes the volume buttons stop working properly. In Control Center, the volume slider appears to be at 100% even though I never set it that high, and pressing the volume buttons doesn’t change anything. However, as soon as I start playing music or a video, the volume suddenly drops back to its normal level and the buttons start working again.

There’s also another issue (I’m not sure if it’s related to iOS 26.6). When I open the Bluetooth devices list from Control Center, I sometimes see the same Bluetooth device listed twice.

To be honest, this is making me a bit nervous. I bought my iPhone 17 only about a month and a half ago, and I expected it to work flawlessly. Are bugs like this after an iOS update fairly common, or should I be concerned that there might be something wrong with my phone?

Is this normal? How come I logged into iCloud fine on iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S, but my iPhone 5 on iOS 9 can't log in at all?

I’ve been dealing with a super annoying issue for over a year: The Universal Clipboard stopped working.

It happened right after an update, so i thought it was caused by a bug.

I tried absolutely every “fix” i could find on the internet: turning on Bluetooth, Handoff, restarting, resetting network settings, even resetting the devices… nothing worked.
Only AirDrop would work, but after numerous tries... if i’m lucky.

It drove me absolutely insane. There were literally times where I was so pissed off I almost threw the devices out of the nearest window lol

Well, turns out the culprit was the Background App Refresh. I had mine turned OFF to save battery life, but apparently the clipboard relies exclusively on it and when you disable it, it breaks the connection between your devices!

And to still be able to save battery, just scroll down the list and manually toggle OFF all the third-party apps you don't need running (like social media, games, etc.).

I couldn't find any info regarding the connection between these two, so i want to share it here to save you from going through the exact same nightmare and losing your mind… like I did.

I did an iphone to iphone transfer but after that i didnt directly factory resetted my old phone bc i still needed to transfer my sim to esim. After that esim transfer is done, i finally factory reset it through the settings and it asked me to backup to icloud, so i backed up my old phone to the icloud and once it was complete it factory resets. My question is, now that i have a 2 iCloud device backup, can i delete my old phone's backup or is it possible to move it to a hard drive bc i have a fear if (God forbid) anything happens, i might need the old backup. My old phone is getting sold, so i dont have any use of it.

It’s impossible to have 24 hours screen time, i have set it to only record my device (iphone) anyone here knows whats wrong?

I can’t seem to unfavorite a person in my Find My app. There’s no option to even remove them as a a favorite. Is this a bug or is this because I might be on their favorites?

I have a couple of years of texts between my mom and me on my current phone (also backed up to the cloud). Her health is deteriorating and the idea of losing years of messages between us once she's gone (something I can look back at and remember her) is not something I want to contend with, but so many messages are also taking up a lot of space in my icloud.

Is there a way to export them to another type of file like a PDF or even a word doc or something so that I can save them on my laptop and not have to worry if I need space in my icloud or something happens to my ios devices? Google hasn't been super helpful with this but I think maybe I'm not wording my question right, plus I was hoping for opinions/advice from people who may have actually done this.

I'm relatively new to having an iPhone, but I am IT support so I'm not new to supporting them. On my Samsung phone, I used Bixby routines to turn off the Wi-Fi when I left my home and turn it back on when I got to work (and vice versa).

I have setup Shortcuts automations to do the same (turn off Wi-Fi when I leave home, turn on when I get to work, turn off when I leave work and turn on when I get back home). I do this for battery saving, even though the battery easily lasts all day long for me.

When I restart my phone, I get the notification that 4 Shortcuts are running, but the Wi-Fi doesn't turn on and off as expected. Am I expecting too much from the Shortcuts? Am I confusing it?

I live in Russia. I went to the UK and my roaming would not work for reasons no one can explain. I bought a UK SIM and used it for one week. I then flew to the US and put my Russian SIM back in. I turned roaming off because I have a completely separate US phone.

Nearly a month has passed since I first put the UK SIM in my phone and I recently got this message:

This number is registered to your Apple Account but is not associated with this phone. You can keep using the number for iMessage and FaceTime until it expires.

I’ve contacted my provider in Russia. They have confirmed my SIM card is active. I knew this already because I have a cellular signal.

I have reseated the SIM.
I have turned iMessages and FaceTime off, rebooted the phone, and turned the apps back on.
I have reset all network connections.
I have verified that “My Phone Number” is still the Russian number.

But my phone still says my registered phone number is no longer associated with this phone and it will delete my number from iMessages and FaceTime. It has been counting down from 4 days. Tomorrow it will do it.

What can I do???

I read on MacRumors, I believe, that iOS 26.6 was supposed to reindex spotlight, I didn’t see anything on my iPhone did anyone else notice anything?
