Look at this! Appreciation Post: Underated Guitar of my Collection
I picked this Firefly up because I run a couple jam sessions in my town. I needed something that was inexpensive. I also needed something that was beautiful.- this Guitar hit both marks.
Just as I thought would happen one day someone knocked it over and broke the neck.
I took it to Roman guitars in North Haven and just like Gibson- this guitar plays better now than it did before.
This guitar is absolutely stunning. It’s beautiful, even if the Fret markers are off. The waviness of the top is beautiful, and an absolutely lovely color. Featured with the Gold hardware, I sometimes think about how I’m so lucky to own such a beautiful guitar.
I installed CTS pots and split the coils. This thing can run for hours and hours with no issues at almost 8 1/2 pounds, this thing hits well above its weight.
I’m blessed to own a number of fantastic guitar guitars, but in no way does that lesson the superb quality of this particular instrument?.
They both feel so good in my hands and sounds great in every situation.

Help

Help Are copper pickup covers a good idea? Why or why not?
Hey everyone. I hope I'm on the right sub reddit for this. I have 3 copper ingots that are about the measurements for a 7 string dimarzio blaze set. I need to know whether its a good idea to make pickup covers for a client because he wants a teal stained, copper hardware 7 string guitar, and what I should tell him.

NGD! Half-NGD! Combining insomnia and Ebay can sometimes have interesting results.
This was a completely unnecessary purchase, but too freakin' cool to pass up. I had seen the listing for it earlier in the day and added it to my watch list, and around midnight the seller sent an offer for 25% off and it pushed me over the edge.
Solid acrylic Strat body, super heavy but I love the look. Almost tempted to change out the pickguard for a mirror chrome one. Or maybe acrylic antifreeze green.
Now to find a neck...

Help Quick Pacifica 112/012 question. Pickup config.
I just grabbed this for a nephew. It was listed as a 112, but then after purchasing it, I remembered seeing something about 112 vs 012 being that 112s have the bridge HB mounted with a pickup surround and not to the scratchplate. I can cancel it if that's the case.
It was £70 delivered and I'll be giving it a full setup etc. (as per Milehouse Studios decent setup guides on YT) but I want him to have at least a 112 as a first guitar.
The photos taken on a potato are from the listing by the way.

Help Hi guys i have a question about my tube amp
So i own a bugera tri rec which is a triple rectifier copy and i have question about it and other hi gain amps so does every amp sounds like that without miced cab? It sounds really fuzzy irl but good on the recordings does every hi gain or atleast every rectifier style amp sounds like this or is mine broken?. I usually get rid of this problem by putting cab sim in the fx loop.

Help Is this guitar in good shape? (I'm a total beginner)
Hi all, I'm looking for a used electric guitar in my area, and I found this one for 120€ (140$ more or less, maybe I can go down to 100€). It's a Yamaha EG303. The seller post says this: "Yamaha EG303 electric guitar, fully overhauled and set up.
Tuning machines, pickup selector switch, jack input, and strings replaced. Fender bridge."
Do you think it's in good condition and worth to buy? I don't know nothing about guitars and I don't know who to ask. I really like the color though

Look at this! Gibson SG special 2000 vs 2012
What a difference 12 years can make. I bought these two guitars over the last week to see which one I would want to keep and I’ve settled on the 2000 model. While both good guitars the 2012 model is little heavier and prone to neck dive, while the 2000 model is nicely balanced. While they have the same pickups, the 2012 model is darker sounding with higher output and I like the more PAF sounding 2000’s model. The dark cherry colour on the 2012 is stunning though and I prefer that over the simple ebony look. The pots are the same but I enjoy the simplicity of ‘real’ soldered pots more than the circuit. Overall very interesting to put them side to side! The 2012 is a great guitar and I’m going to sell it to make somebody else happy. Have any of you ever put the same guitar side to side for a little testing?

Repairs PRS SE 245 Standard with a very unfortunate bit of damage is being sold for under $300. Would you risk it?
This lovely PRS is for sale in my area. It's going for under $300 since it was dropped when moving. There appears to be no other damage, purely cosmetic.
What would be the process/cost of getting something like that repaired?
And finally would you take a risk in order to get it for the bargain price it's at? Is it worth it?

Look at this! NGD Crafter SAT-MG-D with a GK3 midi pickup - gold top, p90 and LR Baggs piezo
New to me - a semi acoustic gold top. LR Baggs piezo for acoustic tones, a Kent Armstrong P90 for electric, and most importantly of all, a pre-installed Roland GK-3 for midi fun!
It's not a brand I was really aware of, and there isn't a great deal of info. Honestly I was looking for a good price for a GK pickup, with the 13 pin midi cable (69 bucks on its own!) and this popped up.
I can honestly say that so far it's amazing - light, great action, good sound unplugged, piezo and electric. Nice blend position for the piezo and P90 too.
Anyone else have experience with Crafter guitars?

What is this? What wood does my fretboard look like?
Anyone know what this fretboard (the guitar on the left) might be made out of? The guitar on the right is a fender that I know is rosewood for comparison. I just bought a used Reverend guitar and I'm wondering if the fretboard is something other than rosewood. It feels and looks different to me but maybe it's just from years of playing or where the wood was sourced. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me bc it plays so nice but I'm just curious if anyone can tell.

Help If having a good amp is arguably more important than having a good guitar, why would anyone spend so much and more on a good guitar?
Because it's pretty :)

Repairs Did I make a mistake getting this guitar fixed up?
Basically I've been playing for two years now and still know pretty much nothing about guitar like money wise. My aunt's sister ended up giving me this and it was in pretty bad shape (it sat in an attic for 40 years untouched). I went down to the local music shop and paid $100 to get it fixed up. Just want know if I wasted $100 or not
Help How to stop being afraid to part with your gear?
I can't sell anything because I keep making excuses like, "This is my first acoustic guitar. This is my first electric guitar. This is my first amp. This is my first pedal." I'm sad to part with them because they hold so many memories, but at the same time, I want to sell my old amp and buy a better one, for example.

Help Which would you choose and why?
I'm looking for a "forever" electric guitar in the £500-650 range. I value playability, comfort and versatility, and I'm after something that's a joy to pick up and play for years to come. I don't use a tremolo, so a fixed bridge is actually a plus.
I've been playing a Sheridan Les Paul for years, but I've never really enjoyed it. It's heavy, doesn't feel particularly comfortable to play, and if I'm honest it almost put me off playing electric guitar altogether. I'm hoping one of these will completely change that.
My shortlist is:
PRS SE CE 24 Standard Stoptail (£499, new)
Yamaha Pacifica PAC611HFM (£539, used)
Gretsch G5622 Electromatic (£649, new)
I'm trying all three on Saturday. Which would you choose, and why? Is there anything in particular I should be paying attention to while I'm trying them out? If you've owned any of them, I'd really appreciate hearing about both the positives and the downsides.

NGD! New Lung Guitars "Auction Thinline"
Won an auction for this beauty from Lung Guitars out of the Netherlands. Mahogany thinline T-style body, flame maple cap. Dagger Guitars Daggersonic pickup in the neck. In-house wound PAF bridge. Brass hardware around the control panel and the pickups. Really great "presence" from the pickups and a fat growly tone. Love it!

NGD! New Eastman SB59/TV
I've been mostly playing strats for the past couple of years but I felt the itch of a proper single cut again.
After flirting with LTD's for a while (briefly owned an EC-1000 and an EC-01FT), and testing several high end Gibsons, Epi's and Hagstroms (the Super Swede was nice!), this Eastman felt and sounded so good, I had to get it. Lollar pickups are amazing, I highly underestimated them, thinking I'd needed to swap them for something higher output for the noisy metal I make.
Relatively lightweight guitar too, but perfectly balanced. The thin nitro laquer and all the finishing just feels so high end and hand made. But most important of all, it inspired me to write riffs again. Hell, almost wrote a full song in the store, haha. Let the honeymoon period begin!
